After a long day carving turns on the Vallée Blanche or hiking the dramatic trails of the Aiguilles Rouges, few things satisfy quite like a perfectly baked pizza. Chamonix, while famous for its Savoyard fondue and raclette, hides a surprisingly vibrant and competitive pizza scene. From thin-crust Roman style to hearty Neapolitan pies, the altitude seems to make the dough rise a little lighter and the cheese pull a little stretchier.
Whether you are looking for a quick refuel between the slopes and the apres-ski bars or a sit-down family dinner with a view of Mont Blanc, the options are diverse. The culinary landscape here blends Italian tradition with French alpine hospitality, resulting in pizzas that are both comforting and refined. You will find everything from wood-fired classics to creative toppings featuring local charcuterie and cheeses.
Navigating the dining scene in a busy resort town can be tricky, as tourist traps often overshadow the local gems. To help you avoid a mediocre meal, we have focused on spots that prioritize quality ingredients, consistent baking techniques, and genuine service. These are the places where locals go when they crave a taste of Naples without leaving the valley.
In this guide, we explore the 15 best pizza spots in Chamonix, ranging from the bustling pedestrian center to the quieter edges of town. We have considered not just the quality of the pie, but also the atmosphere, value for money, and location convenience. Whether you are staying in Chamonix Sud or near the Aiguille du Midi lift, there is a perfect slice waiting for you.
While traditional mountain food is heavy, pizza offers a versatile alternative that can be light or indulgent depending on your appetite. Many of these establishments also cater well to dietary requirements, offering gluten-free bases or vegetarian alternatives without sacrificing flavor. It is this adaptability that makes pizza the perfect post-adventure meal.
Without further ado, here are the top pizzerias currently operating in the valley, curated to satisfy your carb-loading needs.

The pizzas here are drool-worthy and geared towards loading you up with the energy you’d need to climb any one of the numerous surrounding trails. We especially love the mushroom & truffle. Try their specialty Gin & Tonic drinks, a refreshing break from some of the standard, sweeter cocktails offered in the area. And the speculoos tiramisu is fantastic!

This place was listed at the #1 restaurant according to TripAdvisor, and the experience definitely lived up to it.
Ambiance, from lighting to decoration to seating was wonderful; a modern mix of cozy and chill.
The service was excellent. As non-french speakers we were greeted and served in fluent English. They checked in on us the appropriate amount of times, and apologized for having a slight delay on the main course. All with a smile.
Food was great, aside from some points that might be personal preference:
- The garlic bread entree had excellent taste and the best dough I've ever had, but the cheese and dough separated somewhat easily.
- The pizza's sauce was still a bit liquid-y for my personal taste.
- They provide you with roller blade to cut your own pizza. This is a modern and unique twist on the pizza-restaurant experience, but honestly unnecessarily messy to me.
Aside from the nit-picky details above, we had a wonderful time and will likely return soon.
Definitely would recommend.

Perfectly ok. £60 for two pizzas and two drinks. Mojito was really very sour and $15. Pizzas were just ok, very wet and soggy. Flavours good. Rammed close in an echo chamber on the first floor.
Nothing hugely wrong, certainly nothing hugely right - and process of being a customer is mad. Pick up a number at reception, walk up, hand it to a member of staff, then when you’re ready to pay go back downstairs remembering your table number. They get confused. Receptionist goes back upstairs, throws in a number with no receipt…you get asked to tip…then just leave flummoxed.
Whatever makes you happy I guess!
John Lam★★★★☆
Food: We ordered two dishes. The pasta sauce was a little sour but acceptable. It came with bread which was hot and unexpectedly tasty! Even my parents gave it high praise. The pizza base could be done better, although the ham delighted us.
Service: The servants came over to check every some time. We appreciated that! Free biscuit sticks on the table are a plus.
Atmosphere: This is on the third floor - do not be confused with the second floor, which is actually a bar. We almost thought that we were lost until reaching a level higher... Toilet is on the ground floor, for your information.
Conclusion: 4 stars might be too generous, given that we were more satisfied elsewhere in the town (eg. the kitchen in our own apartment!). Thanks to the amazing river just a block away, which we walked past on our way, we are giving a rating with that vivid impression in mind.

Pizza was great and that’s coming from a pizza guy! Staff were really friendly, and the owner was back there making pizza all night. Over all great experience. I don’t have much more knowledge of pizza in the area but I would visit this again when I come back.

A small, cute little pizza spot right in the center, definitely popular, as it can get pretty crowded. They have great options also for vegetarians. We tried the pizza with truffle sauce(very unique) and a classic mozzarella, and both were absolutely delicious. The dough tasted fresh, and the staff were really kind and welcoming. Would definitely visit again and highly recommend!

Wow! One of the best pizzas I've ever had 🤤🤤 a variety of delicious toppings that you don't find in other pizza places. And I love that they have a lot of vegetarian options. 10/10 would definitely recommend

We got 2 pizzas, both delicious and were made super fast! The hot honey pepperoni one was my favourite, and the guys in the shop were lovely. Also the pizza boxes are insulated inside so kept them nice and warm!! A nice touch 🙂

We LOVED Casa Nonna! Such a fun vibe, great service, and yummy food. I loved the virgin aperol spritz! We got the salad, Dolce Vita pizza and the gnnocchetti pasta - all very unique flavors that we haven’t come across before! So good. The best was the homemade tiramisu! Highly recommend!

We (me, husband and 14yr old son) made a dinner reservation here before starting out on the TMB. It’s near the bus stop but a short walk from the local train station. Our reservation was for 7pm right when it opened and it was a bit busy. All the pasta was amazing, we also loved the tartar and burrata. It’s away from the hectic mess of town and has a beautiful view of the mountains. Enjoy!

Overall, we had a great meal and would definitely come back.
The pizza was absolutely perfect, and the starters were outstanding. The fried cauliflower with truffle mayonnaise was delicious, and the rosa arancini was incredible—both were full of flavor and among the highlights of the meal.
The tomato salad was a bit disappointing and lacked flavor.
The only dessert we tried was the tiramisu, which unfortunately was not good. It was quite soggy and tasted bland, with very little coffee or mascarpone flavor.
Despite the weaker salad and dessert, the quality of the pizza and starters made the experience well worth it.

Food was good but nothing memorable. Staff was extremely friendly and the hotel itself as well as the restaurant amazingly decorated. We enjoyed it.
Alain Devaux★★★★☆
The restaurant is about a 10-minute walk from the city center. The place is nicely furnished and has a warm, pleasant atmosphere.
We had arancini as an appetizer and a very good Neapolitan-style pizza. We also tried other dishes, like ossobuco, which was good as well.
The staff was very kind and friendly. There were a few small delays and minor forgettings, but nothing too serious.
Overall, a nice Italian restaurant with good food and a welcoming atmosphere.

Great pizza with an excellent crust and quality ingredients, plus awesome spritzes. The place has a really nice vibe and is perfect for a relaxed evening in Chamonix. That said, it feels a little overpriced — €20 for a regular pizza is good, but not fantastic. The real standout for me was the pasta aglio e olio, which was absolutely superb. Overall, a very solid spot I’d happily return to

Great food and a very traditional Italian feel. The Burrata Pizza was the standout generous portion and very high-quality cheese. For the pasta, the Spaghetti Arrabbiata was delicious with a nice level of heat
4 stars because the restaurant gets extremely busy and loud Service can be a bit of a 'whirlwind' due to the crowd, but the food is consistently high quality.

Really very good Neapolitan pizza. The dough is perfect, the tomato sauce is fresh and tasty and the cooking is exactly as it should be.
It is way better than the pizza in many “so called Neapolitan” restaurants that you would eat a worse pizza for way higher prices.
Bravo to the owner !

I recently visited Le Nap's and was absolutely impressed with their vegetarian pizza! The taste was outstanding, the ingredients were fresh, and the combinations were creative. The crust was perfectly crispy, and the selection of vegetarian toppings was impressive. I especially appreciated the emphasis on quality. The pizza here is absolutely delicious, and the prices are incredibly good. The ingredients are fresh, tasty, and generous.
The dough is thin with a nicely crisp outer crust—exactly the way I like it.
We ordered two Regina pizzas, both excellent, with a generous amount of mushrooms, ham, and sauce.
No regrets at all eating here—great value and great taste.
The outdoor seating isn’t the most comfortable, but it’s still nice to enjoy your pizza outside.
Please note that the place is not wheelchair accessible, as there are a few steps to reach the counter where you place your order.
It’s truly heaven for kids: no indoor space, no restrictions, and lots of freedom to move around.
That said, if your children tend to misbehave or run around, be aware that the place is set slightly back from the main road. You’ll need to keep a close eye on them to make sure they stay safe.

Definitely recommend! I ordered a set of three courses with entry + main course + dessert. All of them are very tasty. The entry with burrata, tomatoes and foccacia is refreshing. The main course is mushroom pasta (cèpe is local specialty) served with super yummy creme. The service is great. A big plus is the fantastic view of the mountains. I enjoyed the dinner with good food tasting and relaxing ambience. Will come back next time in Les Houches.

The experience at this restaurant is and will forever remain a great memory. This has been the second time I had the chance to enjoy an excellent dinner at the hotel restaurant Le saint antoine. I will for sure recommend this location to other people and will enjoy coming back to this Restaurant.

This is the best pizza spot in Les Houches/Chamonix area.
The service and food are incredible, me and my friends came here three times and had an incredible experience each time.
Antoinette and Hugo were always there for us and even received a last minute order from us before the kitchen closed, I will never forget their kindness and service.
Don’t even get me started with how good the pizza is.
The cheese was always on point, the pizza would be in the perfect condition when brought to the table and the taste was always right.
A great selection of drinks as well, French artisan sodas that were very enjoyable and served with lemon in the glass.
An incredible spot to come after going hard on the slopes and eat amazing pizza.

The pizzas are absolutely delicious. They are generously topped, large, and have the perfect crust.
An extra star goes to the male and female servers, who seem to be in their mid twenties. Even though the terrace is extremely busy, they remain friendly, professional, and attentive. They even smiled when I asked for some extra Parmesan 😉.
Highly recommended!

Food was average at best — nothing memorable unless you enjoy disappointment. Service somehow managed to get worse as the night went on: we were brought other people’s food and watched our used water glasses get reused on another table. Lovely.
The manager was rude and arrogant, and rushed the bill over the second we finished eating.
Do yourself a favour and go to Bighorn round the corner instead — lovely owners, incredible food, and basic hygiene standards met. Avoid this place and don’t waste your money.

Wow! What an amazing hidden gem! We nearly missed it at first as it’s a small door in between two other restaurants.
It was very affordable and you can tell the owner takes pride in his business. He runs the whole show from the bar, pizza oven and also the kitchen and table service. He’s truly amazing! 10/10 service too.
We had cocktails, beers, pizzas and deserts and all were amazing! And the pizzas were €12-€15. The dame blanc desert was amazing too.
A lovely calm atmosphere and you don’t feel rushed or hassled!
Highly recommend to anybody visiting chamonix, you will not be disappointed.

Great little place in the center of town. The atmosphere was cozy and perfect for a relaxing conversation over dinner. The pizza and the garlic bread were tasty, they had a nice Châteauneuf du Pape red on the carte des vins, and their play list for the background music was an eclectic mix of indie rock, blues, and pop. It was just spot on for a low-key last dinner in Chamonix.

I don't even want to give 1 star to this restaurant, It was the worst experience I regret eating in here. Firstly when we entered in the restaurant he stopped us at the gate even tho restaurant was empty and then he gave us a table to and when we asked to change the table he denied. Secondly, when I asked him is it is 6 slice or 4 slice pizza, he just drew on his paper and told maybe 100 if small pieces. When the order came the Pizza was not even cut into pieces and when I asked for origano it was given in coffe cup. Pizza was tasteless, overcooked and when I asked for take away he gave me a piece foil for us to pack it ourself. He was not even noticing us when we asked for take away. Please don't visit this restaurant it's worst.

We stumbled upon Neapolis by chance while craving authentic Italian food, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to Chamonix. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome from the staff made us feel at home. We were given a wonderful table right beside the river, where the relaxing sound of the flowing water created the perfect atmosphere.
The restaurant is incredibly cozy and truly captures the charm and spirit of Naples. With its friendly hospitality, delicious aromas, and lively ambiance, it felt like we had been transported to Italy. It’s no surprise the restaurant was completely full just minutes after we arrived.
We started with the fresh tomato salad, served with complimentary bread and a delicious traditional fried bread that was absolutely irresistible. For the main course, we had the lasagna and an Aglio e Olio pasta specially prepared by the chef for us. Both dishes were outstanding—rich in flavor, perfectly cooked, and among the best Italian meals we’ve ever had.
To finish, we enjoyed a fantastic tiramisu along with a lovely Napolitan lemon liqueur, which was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.
By the end of the evening, the staff no longer felt like restaurant employees—they felt like friends welcoming us into their home. The food, the riverside setting, the breathtaking view, and the exceptional hospitality made this an experience we’ll always remember. I highly recommend Neapolis to anyone visiting Chamonix!

The pasta was delicious and a big portion (we had the tortellini and carbonara), and we can't say thank you enough to the staff here for making a very special day even more special- when they noticed we were celebrating an engagement, they were so kind and celebrated along with us.
This restaurant is surely one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Chamonix- if not for the fantastic service alone but the vibes and hearty food. 🥰

Excellent place to visit for both food and craft beer. The staff were courteous and the atmosphere was great. We ordered the chicken wings in both BBQ and Hot Honey—the portion size was generous and they were cooked to perfection. To drink, we had the Big Mountain Blonde, which was light, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the wings. Highly recommended!

Great selection of beers, though they seem fairly American. Great burgers. Older bartender had quite the attitude. Younger waiter was terrific.

It is a nice place. They have their own beer on from tap and also to buy in cans.
Food is alright. We got pizza, burgers and friends to the group. Pizza looked fine, classic burger was alright, but Savoy burger was very dry. Fries and sauces were good.

Beer and food always nice, but the team is absolutely amazing always smiling even on the busiest days. And the views from the terrace. 10/10

Beautiful views, unbeatable vibes, so many seating options, kind staff, great beer. I’m not really sure what else you could ask for in a brewery. It’s in a convenient spot, but also less congested area of town, too, so it was a pleasant escape and very relaxed. As far as food goes, we only tried the truffle fries but they were tasty!

We ate here multiple times during our trip because it was so good! The vibe is amazing; there's a great outdoor seating area with a beautiful view of the mountains. The food was SO good. There's a huge variety on the menu from French classics like fondue and raclette, to pizzas and steaks. There are also some delicious drink options. If you're in the area, put this place on your list.

The Cafe Gourmand was perfect, but the creme brulee was a bit grainy and could have had more vanilla. The pizza was good and the side salad very nice

Fantastic experience! The steak was cooked perfectly with a delicious pepper sauce served on the side. The profiteroles were the perfect ending to the meal. Friendly service, great atmosphere, and a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing dinner in Chamonix. Highly recommended! 🥩🍫🇫🇷

We stayed in Las Praz last week and visited this fabulous restaurant on at least 4 different occasions. The ambience and atmosphere is superb, it’s busy, bustling and great fun.
Food wise we had raclette, fondu, chicken, steak and pizzas. All of them faultless.
There are three eating sections, one outdoors, two inside, outside
Not used in winter.
It’s an easy walk from the town centre.
It’s the first place I would return to when coming back next year.
Oh, and the wine choices are pretty good too.
Book!!!!!

The fondue is good but way too much. I enjoyed it but I also regret it. They should add more salad to at least feel like you’re not making a bad decision for your body. The onion soup is the warm thing everyone needs after skiing.

We were camping nearby and went for dinner.
The staff is super friendly and helpful, there are plugs by the tables for the travelers.
The pizzas were amazing, real italian dough!
We also had a pannacotta and tiramisu to top of pur dinner and we did not regret that decision.
The atmosphere is very cozy, only few tables inside.
Would recommend to grab a nice pizza while passing through.

I had a pleasant experience here, though the pizza wasn't quite my style. I personally prefer a thick crust with a generous amount of cheese, whereas the pizza here is much thinner and more traditional. However, the service was excellent—the waiter was very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant has a great vibe and the decoration is really nicely done.

I went there at 7:45pm today and asked to be seated. I was refused a seat. I thought maybe they closed early, but she explained that because I was alone, they would not seat me until 8pm because they were ‘too busy’. I looked around the restaurant and there were only 4 people in the entire restaurant. It was empty, but their ‘policy’ is to not let an individual eat there until after 8pm. It would make sense if they were actually busy, but it was 7:45 and the place was empty. She told me if I stood there for 15 more minutes I could eat there, but not until 8pm. It’s good to have policies, but sometimes people need to use their brains.
Maybe the food is good, I wasn’t given the chance to find out, but the restaurant was empty at 7:45pm so that’s not a good sign. None of the 4 people eating there seemed to be vomiting, so maybe the food is ok.
Bottom line is the service and attitude is awful. Even if the pizza is good, it’s probably a good idea to give this place a miss.

Excellent, friendly, professional, great family owned pizzeria! I absolutely loved the pizza at this restaurant, it was so delicious, perfectly made and really a delightful experience! I highly recommend this pizzeria, you will not be disappointed. I enjoyed the pizza so much, I went back a second time before leaving the French Alps. Definitely put this on your list of restaurants! They are very polite, welcoming and kind with their customers.

Over the last year, whilst still owned by the previous owner I was frequently turned away from the restaurant, with the waitress saying they were too busy, even though it was empty. Since the new owner, theres new staff, the pizza is better and you can walk in and get a table when its not too busy. 100% better than before!
Essential Tips for Enjoying Pizza in Chamonix
To ensure your dining experience is as smooth as the fresh corduroy on the Grands Montets, it helps to know a few local logistics before you head out. The rhythm of Chamonix is dictated by the mountain; restaurant kitchens often open earlier than in major French cities but also close earlier than you might expect, especially on Sunday nights. Here are a few key strategies to ensure you get a table and the best possible meal.
Book ahead during peak season. Chamonix is bustling from December through March and again in July and August. Walking into a popular pizzeria at 8:00 PM without a reservation will almost certainly result in a long wait or a polite refusal. Call ahead in the afternoon or ask your hotel concierge to secure a table.
Embrace the "Takeaway" culture. If you are exhausted from a day of mountaineering or skiing, don’t force yourself to sit in a crowded dining room. Many of the best spots in town offer excellent takeaway services. Grabbing a hot box and eating it in your chalet or apartment with a bottle of local Apremont wine is a quintessential Chamonix evening.
Check the oven type. You will notice a difference between a gas deck oven and a true wood-fired stone oven. If you are a purist looking for that leopard-spotted, blistered crust, verify that the restaurant uses a wood fire. The flavor imparted by beechwood is distinct and worth seeking out if you have a refined palate.
Look for D.O.P. ingredients. The best pizzerias in Chamonix proudly list their sourcing. Look for mentions of San Marzano tomatoes (D.O.P.), Fior di Latte or Buffalo Mozzarella from Campania, and 00 flour. If a menu specifies these details, it is a strong indicator that the kitchen respects the craft and is not just serving generic tourist food.
Be mindful of service hours. Unlike Paris, where dinner starts at 9:00 PM, Chamonix operates on an alpine schedule. Many kitchens close by 9:30 PM or 10:00 PM, even on weekends. If you are coming off the slopes late or finishing a long hike, plan to eat a bit earlier or secure a late reservation where possible.
The pizza scene in Chamonix continues to evolve, with chefs bringing authentic techniques from Italy and blending them with the unique energy of the Alps. Whether you prefer a simple Margherita that lets the sauce sing or a loaded pie with spicy local sausage, the quality of ingredients across the board has never been higher. A great pizza here is more than just fast food; it is a reward for a day well spent in the mountains.
As you plan your culinary itinerary, remember that variety is the spice of life. Mix in a wood-fired classic one night and a modern, gourmet interpretation the next. By following the local rhythm and respecting the reservation culture, you are guaranteed to find a slice that fuels your next alpine adventure perfectly.
