Seville is a city that lives outdoors. While the Gothic cathedral and the Alcázar often dominate itineraries, the true rhythm of local life is found among the orange trees, ceramic benches, and dappled shade of its public green spaces. For travelers looking to slow down, these parks offer a sensory break from the bustling tapas bars and crowded monuments. They are where families gather on Sunday afternoons, where runners trace dusty paths at dawn, and where the scent of jasmine hangs heavy in the spring air.
The climate here is defined by extreme heat in the summer, making the choice of park a matter of survival as much as aesthetics. The best gardens in Seville are not just pretty; they are architectural responses to the Andalusian sun. You will find high walls that trap cool air, dense canopies of cypress and magnolia, and the constant, soothing sound of running water from ancient irrigation systems. Understanding this design helps visitors appreciate why these spaces feel so restorative.
Many of the city’s most beloved parks have historical roots that stretch back centuries, often originating as private royal retreats or agricultural estates. The Moorish influence is undeniable, visible in the geometric layouts, the use of tile work, and the reverence for water as a luxury. Later, the Romantic era brought a wilder, more naturalistic style to Seville, filling parks with exotic species brought back from the Americas and Asia. This layering of styles creates a unique botanical tapestry.
Accessibility is one of the greatest advantages of exploring Seville’s gardens. Unlike sprawling metropolitan parks in other capitals, most of these green spaces are woven directly into the urban fabric. You can step from a narrow, sun-bleached alleyway directly into a cool, verdant paradise. This proximity allows visitors to alternate between cultural sightseeing and quiet contemplation without needing to rely on public transport or taxis to find nature.
However, the quality of these spaces varies greatly depending on the season. In late spring, the parks are at their peak, bursting with the color of bougainvillea and the heady scent of orange blossom. By August, the grass turns golden and dry, and the parks are often empty during the midday hours. Visiting early in the morning or just before sunset is not merely a suggestion; it is essential for comfort and for witnessing the parks as the locals do.
Whether you are a solo traveler seeking a quiet spot to read, a couple looking for a romantic stroll, or a family needing space for children to run, Seville has a green space for you. From grand, historical gardens with monumental fountains to small, hidden plazas shaded by ancient trees, the variety is astounding. This guide curates the most significant and beautiful options to help you prioritize your time.
Below is a curated list of the most remarkable parks and gardens the city has to offer, each with its own distinct character and history.

MARCUS MORRIS★★★★★
For me, the most beautiful park in the world. The plaza on its own is breathtakingly stunning. We have arrived end of April, 30 degrees but still manageable.
The architecture from Gonzalez is exceptional. You can take a horse drawn carriage, hire a bicycle car type thing or a boat and row the canal.
The 48 benches dedicated to provinces or Spanish cities are excellent for relaxing after walking around the park. There are view points all over the plaza and its all just so photogenic.
We saw a flamenco show in the central area in the day and then there are flamenco guitar players and other musicians dotted around the plaza all day and into the night.
The actual park has so many vibrant flowes, lots of shaded seating areas and water features and ponds (with some slightly grumpy ducks floating around).
We went 3 times in one day and I am looking forward to going again on this trip. It was spectacular at sunset and with an almost full moon overhead.
Wear comfortable shoes and take water.
Rosa★★★★★
Hands down the most beautiful park in the world! The sheer amount to do inside of a park is incredible, there is fountains, waterfalls, statues, monuments, wildlife! You can easily spend a whole day from dusk till dawn just wandering this park. If not though I personally recommend coming towards golden hour and watching the sunset so unbelievably stunning. I was in Seville end of November and the park was beautifully maintained - on my last day I saw a huge landscaping team working you can tell the city takes pride in the park. It was so peaceful at all times with families and friends hanging out - I sat in the evening by myself eating dinner and it was completely peaceful you couldn't say that about most parks imo. I really felt drawn to spend as much time as possible there I will definitely be back in springtime to see it in full bloom.

A gorgeous park in the middle of Seville, with Plaza de Espagna at its core. Enjoyed strolling here and resting under the abundantly flowersome pergolas and mature trees. There was a waterfall too and ice creams nearby, so peaceful and offered a bit of welcome shade and coolness.
Finished off at the Plaza, admiring the astounding architectural details and soaking up the unique, old-timesque energy of this place. It has a slow, sultry, romantic feel to it with horse-drawn carriages passing here and there to and from the plaza and a sleepy canal with a stunning footbridge and small rowing boats adding to the overall charm.
Jonny Cruz★★★★★
This park was so amazing. Really big and so many nice little squares and animals and water features. It was great to walk around for a while taking photos and videos and was nice and cool from all the shade away from the otherwise hot weather.
Emma Payne★★★★★
I arrived about 9am and it was a lovely time where the gardeners are out, it’s quiet and you can get really nice photos with no one in them. Sit and have a coffee, read a book or explore through the gardens.

Jardines de Murillo is a beautiful garden located next to the Real Alcázar. The grounds are well maintained, entrance is free, and visitors can enjoy a wide variety of trees and greenery. It’s a peaceful spot to relax and definitely worth a visit.
Jamie O'Donnell★★★★★
An excellent urban park. Both shaded and sunny, well-maintained paths for strolling suitable for wheeled travelers (strollers and wheelchair users). Stately trees - palms, Ficus and others. Lots of songbirds. A play area for children and lots of benches for resting, relaxing, and chatting. Worth a visit as part of a tour of the area around the Alcazar.

A beautiful green space where there are a lot of quiet corners to just sit and relax. The Christopher Columbus monument in the middle is very apt.

Lovely gardens to stroll in. Beautiful trees and shrubs. Impressive monument for Christopher Columbus

A very nice garden. Colorful, peaceful and you can even see free live flamenco dancing(optional tipping). I liked that it had a lot of benches along the garden.

The spanish really do know how to combat the sun. A spacious, beautiful park, filled with blooming trees, fountains and benches to sit and relax.
It was clean, tidy, and really nice to have a walk in the middle of the day with the sun right above our heads
K R★★★★★
Very green and lovely smells when the flowers are blooming. Some open space for events as well as walking paths and benches near water features to relax.
Sylvia Lin★★★★★
Free park with lots of benches and shades for visitors. Water fountains and lots of trees. It's near the metro station and the Spanish plaza but not overcrowded with tourists. A good place to sit down and relax like a local.
Milan B (ilphen)★★★★★
A beautiful park. The weather in may was way too hot though. Luckily there are some springs and lots of shade below the pretty violet trees, which allows one to cool off.
In the evenings there are lots and lots of people celebrating the Europaleague final and Eintracht Frankfurts victory.
Overall a legendary visit I'll never forget.
Fiodor Kaloev★★★★★
Beautiful park - ideal for relaxing or walking on sunny summer days. Under the canopy of trees, you can sit on decorated benches and feel the coolness from a large fountain in the middle of the park. I was especially glad to be here after a long bus ride. There is a bus station nearby.

Beautiful place to sit beside the river and enjoy a beer, sandwich or a coffee, watching people coming and going, while sitting watching the river it's nice to watch the rowing boats going by, we really enjoyed this area as a place to sit and chill and relax in the sun
Richard Heering★★★★☆
Stayed there for breakfast (ate my sandwiches) and brushed my teeth 😀
Nice little park, sadly there were a lot of homeless there, so I don’t know how safe it is.
Great view of the canal.

Take a break from the main palace and make sure to prioritize the garden and the many shade spots.
The garden are full of animals with their offspring like colourful birds, peacocks, ducks and other fascinating creatures.
In the garden you can also find benches to rest your legs and just enjoys the sound of the animals, the nice smell of the trees and the fruits/eatable plants.
We spent more than an hour exploring the garden and just enjoyed the green and shady spots.
Highly recommendable.
When you go into the palace again remember to visit the underground water reservoir, before you are headed to the water fountain of gold and the covered walkway.
Adam Kaczmarek★★★★★
Are these the best royal gardens I have seen in my life? No:) Are they beautiful, peaceful and well-maintained allowing visitors to relax, chill and enjoy wonders of the nature and soak up in the sun? YES!! Hence my 5 star rating here! Do not miss out on it when visiting The Real Alcazar of Sevilla!
rich Mck★★★★★
Spectacular we went during the day and then we went at night to see a few electrical performance, my local actors in Spanish dramatizing the history of the location.
Highly recommendable.
Robert Chomicz★★★☆☆
These gardens are OK. It's no Versailles. Lots of sandy paths, with some shade here and there. There is a nice looking pavilion that you can't enter and lots of ducks and peacocks. Not a hole lot of benches or places to sit, also not as crowded as the palace, but not empty either. A couple of fountains around, nothing to write home about though. Overall, its a pleasant park but I have seen better, and better taken care of, city parks.
renate chiqueria★★★★★
We went to the gardens for the illumination at night. Sadly it was raining and we had to wait a long time to enter. Once inside the garden it looked very exotic and beautiful and impressive. A bit difficult to walk around , slippery but we very happy to have gone. Nice experience

Enjoyed running to this park! It felt far away enough from the hustle and bustle of the centre & felt very local (there were some festivities going on and people were wearing Real Betis jerseys).
Dijana A. K.★★★★★
One of the best parks in Seville. Very clean, beautiful lakes, and lots of orange trees with a lovely scent. Great for families — our daughter loved it. Peaceful, with birds chirping everywhere. Definitely worth a visit.
Andrew Bennett★★★★★
This is a really great park at the north of the city. On the many occasions we've been it's always been quiet and peaceful. There is a nice cafe where you can get drinks and snacks as well. We much prefer it to the relative bustle of Maria Luisa Park.
Santa★★★★★
Huge, beautiful and super well maintained park. If you have time it's definitely worth a walk around it.
Chill and quiet during the week, busier on the weekends.
There're plenty of sitting areas in the shade. So many trees 🌳🌴 and plenty of information about them.
There's a bird observation area.
Also loads of fresh water fountains.
Top park 🔝
Kathi H★★★★☆
Nice park if you want to get out of the city for a bit. It's a modern park that locals use for picnics and jogging etc. There are two ponds and with some interesting birds - the smaller pond had a birdhide but we saw more stuff at the bigger one. We saw a kingfisher, hoopoes, coromorants, redstarts, warblers, unidentified raptor, ducks etc. Was really nice just to sit and see what we could spot.

We decided to visit this park based on recommendations saying it was very beautiful. While it is a pleasant and nice green space, in our opinion it’s not worth going out of your way for if you’re coming from the city center.
If you happen to be nearby or passing through, it’s definitely worth a quick stop. But we wouldn’t say it’s something exceptional or outstanding that justifies a special trip. There are nicer parks and places to see in Seville.
gürcan karımca★★★★☆
Good, fresh and nice to listen birds. We were unlucky to not see building that was closed.
Margaret Czyżewska★★★★★
Beautiful parc and area to stroll. Beautiful sky on a clear evening, saw a Flamenco dancer doing a little show accompanied by a guitarist. Lovely views, close to where I stayed at Hotel Sevilla Center which is also Lovely.

The gardens were designed in the early 19th century by Pablo Boutelou as one of Seville’s first Romantic gardens. Once reserved for royalty and nobility, they were later opened to the public and redesigned for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition. The gardens feature mythological sculptures, 19th-century style benches, and charming pavilions, making them a peaceful spot to stroll near the river.
Yangyang Yang★★★★★
Jardines de las Delicias, or the "Gardens of Delights," is a place of tranquil beauty and resplendent nature in the heart of a bustling city. As you enter these gardens, you are greeted by a captivating blend of lush greenery, fragrant blossoms, and the gentle sounds of flowing water.
The beauty of Jardines de las Delicias lies in its careful landscaping. Meandering pathways lead you through a diverse array of flora, from vibrant flowers in an array of colors to towering trees that provide welcome shade on a sunny day. The gardens' design pays homage to both formal and naturalistic elements, creating a harmonious blend of symmetry and wild beauty.
Throughout the gardens, you'll discover serene fountains and ponds, their reflective surfaces enhancing the sense of calm and contemplation. As you stroll along the pathways, you may encounter sculptures and art installations that add a touch of whimsy and culture to the natural surroundings.
Jardines de las Delicias is a haven of serenity, offering a respite from the city's hustle and bustle. Its beauty is not only in the sights and scents but in the sense of tranquility it imparts to all who visit, making it a cherished gem for both locals and tourists seeking a peaceful escape amidst nature's splendor.
James Noble★★★★★
Nice quiet gardens to escape and sit on the grass under a tree. The gardens have a nice kiosk style bar which is reasonable too.

Parque de Miraflores—literally 'look at flowers'—is one of Seville’s largest modern parks, created in the late 1980s and early 1990s with the city’s northern expansion. With a lake, green spaces, and community gardens, it offers residents a popular place for leisure and relaxation. Blending nature, art, and community life, it also serves as a model of sustainable urban park design.
Dani Baal★★★★☆
Here’s a polished under-500-character review:
A lovely urban park offering beautiful views of the city and surrounding landscapes. Parque de Miraflores is peaceful, with walking paths, green spaces, and spots to relax or have a picnic. Garden of the Three Fountains

Stumbled upon this park whilst exploring Seville. It’s dominated by several massive mature fig trees making it a much welcomed shady oasis.
When we passed through there were a couple of buskers jamming out some seriously chilled sounds. There were several families with small kids all just quietly enjoying the shade and the relaxed vibe.
We sat for a while to rest, sip our water and soak up the atmosphere. Lovely little place.
ibrahim ikizer★★★★★
While wandering the streets of Santa Cruz, we came across this park. It's a large area covered with large trees and greenery, making it the perfect place to relax.

Cute spot to relax, read a book. Part of it is currently being renovated but once it is finished it should be even more charming and more quiet:-)

It is a beautiful place to walk and see the the old city walls. Sadly it is not as clean as I would like and the garden could be more beautiful.
Romain Famery★★★☆☆
Small park with nothing much to do and with nothing special. Pretty dirty and noisy with a lot of bugs. Not the best one to rest a bit.
Michael Vogt★★☆☆☆
Interesting to read that this is a 'fairly big park'. Because it isn't. When strolling around, you don't need even one minute from one side to the other.
Not even nice for a walk, more like a public toilet for dogs and home for homeless.
And this right next to the few remains if the Seville city walls. Haven't seen a worse way of ignoring its own history.
Kais Uddin★★★★☆
It's a small rectangular garden alongside the main ring road. It has benches and is an excellent place to stop after shopping! There are lovely trees, and the oranges blossom with a heavenly scent.
Katriina Kautto★★★☆☆
Small park with very old, big trees. Ancient walls around the park. Nice.

Igors Litvinuks★★★★★
A truly stunning place and one of the highlights of Seville. The architecture is beautifully preserved, both inside and out, with incredible attention to detail throughout the palace. The courtyards, intricate decorations, and lovely gardens make it easy to spend several hours exploring.
I was glad to have a bottle of water with me, as the visit took around 2.5 hours at a comfortable pace. Buying tickets online in advance is definitely the best option, especially during busy periods. I also recommend combining your visit with the Cathedral, which is only about a 10-minute walk away.
Highly recommended for anyone interested in history, architecture, and beautiful gardens.
Don MacAuslan★★★★★
Visited on a walking tour. Carlos our guide was excellent. Stunning architecture, mosaics and colours. Also gardens are spectacular. Skip the line tickets are a must in high season. Also bring water if visiting in June as temps in seville in summer are surface of the sun hot! Highly recommend.
Cindy, Realtor & Travel Lover★★★★★
The Royal Alcázar of Seville is one of those places that makes you stop every few steps and say, “Okay, one more photo…”
The architecture is breathtaking, the details are incredible, and the gardens are absolutely magical. We could have spent hours wandering through the pathways and courtyards. Every corner feels like a postcard.
A few tips from a fellow traveler: book the earliest entry time possible because the Seville heat is no joke. Bring a fan, wear comfortable shoes, and don’t forget your headphones for the audio tour.
And ladies… wear your cutest outfit. 📸✨ There are photo opportunities everywhere. Seriously. Every archway, garden path, fountain, and courtyard is begging for a picture.
If you’re planning a trip to Seville, the Royal Alcázar is 100% worth it. Beautiful, historic, and somehow even more impressive in person than in photos.
10/10. Bring water, bring a fan, and make room on your phone for about 300 photos. 🇪🇸☀️🌴🏰📷
Édouard Baladès★★★★★
The mix of architectural styles makes this place truly enchanting. The gardens are vast and provide a welcome respite from the heat on Seville’s many sunny, hot days.
During peak season, be sure to book several days in advance, as the tickets are sold out every morning.
Wukong★★★★★
An absolutely breathtaking visit to the Real Alcázar of Seville. The palace is a stunning blend of history, art, and architecture, with intricate Mudéjar details, beautiful courtyards, and richly decorated rooms that feel like stepping back in time. The gardens are equally impressive—peaceful, expansive, and immaculately maintained, perfect for wandering and taking in the atmosphere. Every corner tells a story, and the overall experience is both culturally enriching and visually unforgettable. A must‑see landmark in Seville and one of the most beautiful historic sites I’ve ever visited. Highly recommended.

Pete Austin★★★★★
My favorite park in the central city. Very peaceful with delightful mature trees.
Ignác Bonifác★★★★★
In the park you will find divine and undisturbed peace after a walk through the city or along the waterfront. In the park there is an extremely valuable and artistically valuable monument dedicated to Don Miguel de Mañara (full name Miguel Mañara y Vicentelo de Leca).
He is a key historical figure of Seville from the 17th century, a knight of the Calatrava Order and above all a great reformer of the Hermandad de la Santa Caridad brotherhood, who was instrumental in building the neighboring hospital for the poor and sick.
Antonio AC★★★★☆
A small garden next to the Maestranza Theatre, it takes its name from the Hospital de la Caridad located adjacent to the gardens. It's easily overlooked and very peaceful. Highlights include the monument to Miguel de Mañara, a small viewpoint, and native vegetation. There are benches and paths for relaxing. It was closed for almost 20 years after being occupied by squatters and suffering vandalism.
Jorge Rguez★★★☆☆
A fenced garden next to the Maestranza Theatre in Seville and opposite the Hospital de La Caridad. Dedicated to Miguel Mañara, an exhibition of his work is currently on display alongside the hospital brotherhood's Nativity scene. His sculpture is a prominent feature of the garden. The paths are made of sandy soil. A water feature is located in the northern part of the garden.
Raúl Rodríguez Heras★★★★★
A small park in the city of Seville, near the Torre del Oro. It's a very peaceful, clean, and well-maintained park. It's pleasant to take a stroll through it, or at least come and see it; I highly recommend it.
Tips for Visiting Seville’s Parks and Gardens
To make the most of your time in Seville’s outdoor spaces, it helps to plan like a local. The climate, the siesta culture, and the specific rules of each park can greatly affect your experience. Here are some essential tips to ensure you enjoy these green oases safely and comfortably.
Timing is everything. Avoid the parks between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM during the summer months. The heat is intense, and many smaller gardens may close their gates during the hottest part of the day. Aim for early morning openings or the golden hour before sunset when the temperatures drop and the light is perfect for photography.
Carry water and sun protection. Even in the shadiest parks, the Andalusian sun is powerful. A refillable water bottle is a must, as many parks have drinking fountains, but not all of them are operational. Apply sunscreen regularly, wear a hat, and consider lightweight, long-sleeved clothing to protect your skin while walking.
Respect the "No Picnic" rules. While some larger parks like the Alamillo welcome picnics and ball games, many historical gardens, such as the Maria Luisa, have strict rules against sitting on the grass or eating on the lawns. Look for designated seating areas or benches. These rules exist to protect the delicate botanical collections and historic landscaping.
Watch for cyclists and horse carriages. Seville is a bike-friendly city, and many paths are shared between pedestrians and cyclists. Stay aware of your surroundings, especially on weekends when traffic is higher. Additionally, horse-drawn carriages frequently pass through areas near the Maria Luisa Park; keep a safe distance from the horses and avoid sudden movements.
Check for seasonal closures. Some smaller, walled gardens, particularly those attached to palaces or museums, may have limited hours or close for private events. It is always wise to check the official website or a current tourist map on the day of your visit to avoid disappointment.
Seville’s parks are more than just patches of green; they are living museums that tell the story of the city’s complex history. From the romantic glades designed for royal leisure to the modern, sustainable spaces built for contemporary recreation, each offers a different perspective on Andalusian culture. Taking the time to sit on a tiled bench and simply observe the world go by is one of the most authentic experiences you can have here.
As you plan your itinerary, remember that the best travel memories are often found in the unplanned moments of rest. Allow yourself the luxury of an hour with no agenda, listening to the parrots chatter in the palm trees or watching the shadows lengthen across a tiled plaza. In a city as vibrant and energetic as Seville, these gardens provide the perfect counterbalance, ensuring your visit is both exciting and restorative.
