Saint-Tropez remains one of the most glamorous coastal destinations in the world, but its nightlife is far more diverse than the paparazzi photos suggest. Beyond the superyachts and designer boutiques, the village and its surrounding peninsula hide a remarkable selection of watering holes. From historic fishermen’s bars to sleek rooftop lounges, there is a place for every kind of traveler once the sun goes down.
The best bars in Saint-Tropez blend Provençal charm with international sophistication. Many of the most memorable spots are not on the port itself but tucked away in cobbled lanes, beachside terraces, or hilltop hotels. Understanding the rhythm of the town is key: early evening drinks often start around 6 p.m., while the famous party venues only come alive after midnight.
Local culture still influences the drinking scene here. You will find pastis served alongside vintage Champagne, and rosé from nearby vineyards poured as generously as craft cocktails. The most authentic experiences often happen away from the flashiest facades, where bartenders know their regulars by name and the playlist leans toward French Riviera classics rather than global club hits.
This guide focuses on venues that offer genuine character, excellent drinks, and a true sense of place. Whether you want a quiet glass of Bandol rosé at sunset or a lively dance floor until dawn, the selection below covers the full spectrum. Each recommendation has been chosen for its atmosphere, consistency, and connection to the local scene.
Because Saint-Tropez is compact, you can easily visit two or three of these bars in one evening. Walking is the best way to move between the old town and the port, while taxis or hotel shuttles are better for beach clubs and hillside venues. Reservations are strongly recommended during July and August, when tables fill up days in advance.
Below, you will find the most compelling bars in Saint-Tropez right now, followed by practical advice for making the most of your nights out.

Very expensive cocktails - €20 each. They were ok but nothing out of this world. We came in the middle of the week so it was relatively empty and playing very old school French music.

26th august, around 23h
I came from Barcelona with my partner to St Tropez and we found this, one of rare "queer friendly" bar there.
firstly, the vigil send us to the farest table. I remark so many tables are avaibles.
I got back to him to ask for other place and he look at my short and said "the short".
So I tell him does wearing a short is a problem here ?!
I never had a problem with wearing a short in Spain. then the vigil suggest place in the middle and said he don't know speak english.
my partner was shocked by this closed-mindedness and judgment. we then left him his middle table and went to enjoy St Tropez elsewhere.
Mister Security guard, if you have a problem seeing people happy living the way they are and you're not, change job.

You can tell the bar knows its stuff! And the atmosphere? Simply perfect. Both chic and relaxed, with a playlist that makes you want to extend the evening. A must-visit spot in Saint-Tropez, whether for a drink or an all-nighter. I love this place forever.

Much better priced bar just around the corner from the extortionately priced places but still has a great view. Much more lively and vibrant atmosphere, probably because people are not so sad about being ripped off in bars like Senequier on the main front 🤣
Rok Lapornik★☆☆☆☆
Don't waste time and money here. Place looks ok but the service is terrible and super slow. It took 15 min to take the order and then another 30 min to get 4 drinks. Coffee was so terible we left it and glasses were dirty.

Excellent Mexican fusion spot! We visited in the off season when many shops are closed, and we stumbled upon this gem.... This is a funky 'lil spot with chill tunes, friendly staff, and a fun modern Mexican menu! Creative cocktails. Great guacamole. Excellent entrees. Delicious desserts. One nit - the chips were baked corn tortilla, a departure from the traditional fried corn tortilla chips.

We came for dinner as a couple, and later some friends joined us. Throughout the evening, we ordered several dishes and drinks, so we were quite surprised when, just as we were about to leave, we were told that we either needed to keep ordering or free up the table because we were occupying it.
We fully understand that a restaurant needs to manage its tables, but there are far more professional and courteous ways to communicate this. The food was good, but the way we were treated at the end of the evening unfortunately left a negative impression and overshadowed the positive aspects of our visit.

Alegría in Saint-Tropez is a true gem! The atmosphere is vibrant and elegant, with a warm and welcoming energy that makes every visit special. The service is professional yet friendly, striking the perfect balance.
The food is delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented, but what really stood out to me was the bar. The cocktails are outstanding — and the Amaretto Sour is by far the best I’ve ever had! Perfectly balanced, smooth, and unforgettable.
Alegría isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience — whether for a night out with friends or a chic dinner in Saint-Tropez.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely recommend!
Lola Perrin★☆☆☆☆
Avoid if you actually have tastebuds and know what a cocktail tastes like. If you’re simple and basic, go here.
I stopped here on the way home at about midnight thinking it would a cute apertif. Asked the bartender what cocktail HE likes to make. The cocktail was so-so, I’ve had better at an All Bar One in London 🤡 so you can imagine my shock when the cocktail was €25. I don’t even think it had alcohol in it. It literally tasted like water. Cute little place but not worth that. When I asked the guy if he was joking he just pointed at the menu and said he’d recommended me the most expensive one. Lol while the bar is empty and they’ve put away the alcohol. Avoid if you know what a cocktail tastes like.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The cocktails were crafted to perfection—beautifully balanced and full of flavor. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish exceeding expectations. On top of that, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the music created the perfect vibe for the evening. I truly loved every moment and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

Sebastian Hetzmann★★★☆☆
The reception was very friendly. However, when we were shown to our table, we were disappointed: the red velvet of the seats and the bench was stained dark brown and full of cigarette burn holes. The next surprise was that the wine and water glasses on the table were dirty – some even had visible lipstick marks. We finally received clean glasses after 20 minutes, but with a subsequent order, we were promptly served a dirty glass again. The food did not live up to our expectations either. For instance, the edamame was completely overcooked, the broccoli lacked flavor, and the other appetizers, like the gyoza, were okay but very ordinary. The sushi and sashimi that followed were acceptable, though some essential ingredients like wasabi were missing. Another issue: when the show starts, the room goes dark, regardless of whether you have just started your meal. The atmosphere felt more like a bachelor party than a sophisticated dinner. We visited this venue because it is supposed to be one of the culinary highlights in Saint-Tropez. Perhaps our expectations were too high, but this was definitely not a highlight, so we paid and left right after the main course. I wouldn't rate it any higher than the current 3.9-star average – it deserves more of a 3.0.

This place is completely racist! Americans and Latin Americans please beware. The security will tell you you are not dressed appropriately but will allow Caucasians into the property without a problem. They will say you don’t have heels but they let the French and Caucasian people inside without issue. Myself and two other women had on designer sandals and were denied and discriminated at the door but were let in eventually because we lied to them and said we were from Spain instead of America. Avoid this place at all costs!! We took videos of every Caucasian we saw with sandals. The shots of tequila were $25 EU. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO SPEND YOUR MONEY
Alessio Vicario★★☆☆☆
Mixed feelings about Gaio...location, performance and food were good, but the service was the worst I ever had...
Would I recommend to go there? NO
Going from good to bad things:
- Location: it is amazing, dining here is an experience! There are constant shows with dancers also interacting with the public, very very nice!
- Food: the food is ok, portions are very small for the price that you pay (look at the beef and potatoes in the picture, 52€).
- Service:
a. Starting from the ordering, the guy who took the order pretended to receive the whole and complete order for our entire group (11 people) by one person, he didn't even want to go one by one asking what they wanted...man it is your job to take the order, not mine.
b. The food came asynchronously, with one side of the table finishing the first dish (and already receiving the second one) while one other half of the table did not receive anything. Moreover the food that was supposed to be hot, it was served already cold...
c. They basically kicked us away from the dinner table while some people were still ending their drinks, just because they needed to free up the table and prepare it for the club
d. The guy who served us complained A LOT about the tip, becoming very angry and treating us poorly. I am there to enjoy myself and in the (overpriced) prices there is already the share to cover the service, we can and do not give you extra if you treat us poorly as described above.
e. During the clubbing a service guy literally pushed me angrily, saying to stay away from a table, but I literally was doing nothing...

Great party, best vibes, recommended! Smoke inside is a problem since everyone smokes a lot and just be careful with the bartenders because they charges what they want. They changed the amount for my same orders depending, who was taking it (there were 3 bartenders).

Boss’s daughter runs the place! Good luck if you are a girl because she will kick you out and tell her dad ! Absolutely awful and pathetic ! Good luck ! If you don’t want your trip ruined by a bratty girl don’t go! X

As far as bars go in st tropez this is a great lowkey less high end type. has a Dj and two bars, kinda hard to get a drink sometimes when it’s packed but worth the vibe. A great place to start before a night at the club or a place to chill and just drink. air has a club feel for a bar and is tucked away in the small streets. you wouldn’t know from the outside how big the vibes are inside. overall a good spot to know when you want an elevated dance bar vibe.

I went to cohibar to dance with my friends but when I walked into the bar I was very rudely grabbed by the door man who explained to me that I couldn’t take my outside drink indoors. I apologized for the drink and asked him not to touch me so inappropriately to which he said I could leave his bar if I didn’t want to be touched.
I felt violated.

Most agressive and disrespectful staff - manager unprofessional limit a kid who has no experience in the hospitality industry. Rest of the staff the same maybe worse - not used to this type of treatment anywhere in the world. In conclusion - they should probably earn the worst bar staff ever.

"No cap inside" - after we spent two hours eating and drinking on a table outside, we couldn't go inside because I wore a base cap. Would be nice if somebody would have told us earlier, before we spent our money there...

The sunset was from the outdoor seating upstairs was spectacular! The people were very friendly. The service was a tad slow. The burrata with tomatoes was to die for. Our main couses were good but not spectacular. I still gave it a 5 star because a 4 star is not good enough.

It’s beautifully located to a nice small across the dining room. Public Beach for the weather is nice and clear the restaurant. Nothing crazy regarding the atmosphere and the food of it all wasn’t bad

We visited this place after our friend recommended it because of the amazing view, and what an amazing view it was! Overlooking the beach, yachts, sunset, and mountains was beautiful and made it an excellent dining experience. We had cocktails to go with our starters. We then had salmon and steak for dinner with a delicious rosé. The staff was friendly and kind when we had questions. They spoke English well. We loved watching the sun go down as we were served each course. When it came to dessert time we relaxed with cheesecake and sorbet with espresso. There was no rush to leave and we had an amazing night at Pearl Beach. Great atmosphere.

The service at this restaurant was the worst in south of France. They sat us down and didn’t provide menus, 20 min later when I requested a menu they spoke bad about us. They should know I speak the language and understand everything. Another 20 min to take order and got it wrong. They really need to know customer service. Requested utensils and never got them, we had to share utensils during the entire meal. Dont waste your time eating at this place. They really need to learn good service!!!

Very disappointing experience. We waited for 30 minutes without anyone coming to take our order, and eventually we had to leave. The waitresses had a very poor attitude, especially the girl with black hair, who was rude and unwelcoming. On top of that, the restaurant was full of flies, which made the environment very unpleasant. I would not recommend this place
Nitram Notrub★★★★★
Amazing, would definitely go back to eat, in fact we will be popping in later for drinks, the staff were very friendly and the food was outstanding. Definitely recommended to try.
gal abergel★☆☆☆☆
Absolutely unacceptable experience. Our orders were repeatedly wrong despite asking multiple times for them to be corrected. Most of the food was left uneaten because it wasn’t what we ordered, yet we were still expected to pay the full bill.
The situation became even worse when a staff member called my mother a “b****.” To top it off, the owner told us that Americans are not welcome here. Instead of taking responsibility or trying to resolve the issues, we were met with hostility and disrespect.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for good service and basic respect, I’d strongly recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Had lunch on a sunny October day. Sitting outside. Friendly staff, English speaking as well. We had linguini and salads, served with fresh bread. In the more quiet end of the street/waterfront, view to the water. Lovely place all in all.

We were initially hesitant due to the slightly lower reviews but this place was very welcoming, with polite, English speaking staff. The decor and vibe is one of the best I've seen in the south of France as well.
A little bit pricier but it's around what I would expect in Saint-Tropez.
It seems like they've incorporated feedback from customers because we had a great experience here!

Uncomplicated and not the best service around, but a lovely place to have dinner right by the harbour. Food was decent (don’t expect too much) and not overpriced. Went here after being refused entry to the place we’d booked (because one of our party was wearing shorts - in July in the south of France!!) and we were really pleased we did.

The waitress’s attitude is horrible!
To begin with, we came at 11h15 and she told that they open in 10 minutes (even though the website says the café opens at 9h).
When we sat down, she only gave us the cocktail menu. I asked for the food menu, and she told me I was being rude and that I should say “bonjour,” “merci,” “s’il vous plaît”… Meanwhile, she never used a single one of those words herself. But apparently, I’m the rude one.

We had a wonderful dinner at Le Café on Place des Lices. The setting is both lively and charming — you immediately feel the authentic Saint-Tropez atmosphere.

The worst place in Saint-Tropez.
The customer service was terrible. I ordered the octopus dish, and it was incredibly salty and definitely not worth the price. I asked them to remake it, but they brought me another dish that was just as salty.
The only good thing about this place was the music.
The way they treat their guests is awful. You should have seen the expressions on the faces of the hostesses welcoming guests—they looked like they didn’t want anyone there.
I really didn’t like this place, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Cyril Mani★★★☆☆
Le Café is one of those Saint-Tropez institutions that many people will probably want to experience at least once, but our evening honestly did not live up to the reputation.
The reservation and arrival process were smooth, and we were given a nice table. Our waitress was also very kind and sweet throughout the evening, which we appreciated. That said, the overall experience felt like a place that may have fallen victim to its own popularity.
The food was fine, but for the price, the quality and taste were clearly below what we experienced at other restaurants in the area for much less. Since Le Café is also known for its party atmosphere, we were expecting a much more lively and polished evening. On the terrace, however, we could barely hear the music from inside, and the volume kept going up and down instead of staying at a normal level. At times, we could hear the neighbouring terraces more than Le Café itself. The lighting also felt inconsistent and offbeat rather than creating the festive atmosphere people seem to come for.
Inside, the atmosphere was more intense, but not necessarily in a good way. It was extremely crowded and difficult to move around, even just to go to the bathroom, without bumping into staff or being in the way. The staff generally looked very stressed and uncomfortable, as if the restaurant would benefit from having more people working on the floor.
The singer was good, and we stayed from around 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., but the music selection felt quite outdated and better suited to an older crowd, even though many of the guests seemed younger. Overall, it felt more like a place people go because they have seen it on Instagram or TikTok, rather than because the food or party atmosphere is truly exceptional.
I’m glad we experienced it once, and again, our waitress was lovely, but for the price and reputation, it was disappointing. There are other places nearby with better music, a younger and more energetic crowd, and a more enjoyable overall atmosphere.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt like this experience deserved one. We came this Saturday with my wife and our two children to celebrate our oldest son’s birthday, and we were seated on the restaurant terrace.
The food was absolutely delicious, and we were very well guided by a server with long hair and glasses who gave us great recommendations. The service was truly exceptional and made the whole evening special. From the thoughtful little touches like bringing blankets outside, to kindly changing my daughter’s dish when she accidentally mixed up sushi and maki, everything was handled with care and professionalism.
To top it all off, at the very last minute I mentioned that it was my son’s birthday, and the server organized a fun little celebration with a tiger mascot for him. It really made his day unforgettable.
Everything was perfect from start to finish — we will definitely come back!

A beautiful setting and a wonderful atmosphere for a wedding welcome party. The terrace, the views, and the overall ambiance were absolutely stunning.
The food (sushi) was delicious and everything was very clean and well presented. The service during the event was great, and it made for a truly memorable evening.
The breakfast was generally very good as well, although one morning it felt a little below the standard of the rest of the experience. There was some fruit that didn’t seem fresh, and it looked like only one staff member was handling the breakfast service, which became difficult when many guests arrived at the same time.
That said, this was only a small detail in an otherwise lovely experience. Overall, a beautiful venue, excellent food, and an atmosphere that made our stay very special. Highly recommended. ✨🍣🥂🌴

Quite simply, an exquisite bar for drinks and bonhomie.
Small room, limited food menu, but excellent drinks accompanied by hugely personal service. Surrounded by locals and regulars.
Very, very honest prices, and exceptional value compared to other establishments in this town.

Lovely brunch spot in St Tropez! First of all, I have to highlight the service—10/10. We were looked after by a lovely Argentinian girl who spoke three languages and was super friendly and attentive.
The food was delicious and had everything you could possibly want in a brunch. We ordered the avocado toast and the Eggs Benedict (without the hollandaise sauce because my husband is a bit picky, haha). The bread was exquisite, and the fresh juices were amazing too. Highly recommended!

Best salmon toast (21€) in the Cote d’Azur (French Riveria)! Great location between the port and busy square. Our waiter was below average, but the manager (Axel? with reddish hair and beard) was great! He sat us right away and helped out when our waiter was absent. Also, very good latte (6€) and iced americano (6€). We were disappointed we were charged 5.5€ for water, but it’s Saint Tropez - and the manger brought a second one for free with being asked!

So so good. Classics done extremely well - I got the quinoa bowl with bacon and egg and highly recommend! The quinoa salad is balanced and the bacon is very crispy. Coffee is good too.

We had an early lunch at Mamé and the food was amazing. I had a matcha latte that was excellent and the coffee was great! Our waiter was very kind and welcoming. I would 100% recommend this place!
Tips for Enjoying Saint-Tropez Bars Like a Local
Understanding a few local habits will dramatically improve your experience. Saint-Tropez operates on its own social calendar, and knowing when to arrive, what to wear, and how to order can turn a good night into an unforgettable one. These practical tips will help you navigate the scene with confidence while avoiding the most common tourist pitfalls.
1. Start early for sunset, stay late for dancing.
Most elegant bars fill their terraces between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. for apéro hour. The party venues, especially those near the port or on Pampelonne Beach, do not get busy until after 11 p.m. Plan a two-phase evening to experience both sides of the town.
2. Dress with intention.
Saint-Tropez is stylish but not always formal. Smart casual is the safest choice for most bars, though beach clubs may require closed shoes and collared shirts after dark. Avoid overly flashy logos; understated Riviera elegance is always more respected than loud branding.
3. Book ahead in high season.
Between June and September, the best tables at popular bars are reserved days in advance. A quick phone call or online booking can save you from being turned away at the door, especially on weekends and during events like Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.
4. Embrace local drinks.
While Champagne is ubiquitous, trying a well-made pastis, a chilled Provençal rosé, or a cocktail featuring local herbs and citrus connects you to the region. Bartenders appreciate guests who ask for regional specialties rather than generic international orders.
5. Carry cash for smaller venues.
Many of the older, more traditional bars in the old town still prefer cash, especially for small tabs. While most upscale venues accept cards, having €20–50 in cash ensures you are never caught short at a charming backstreet counter.
6. Be aware of taxi scarcity late at night.
Ride-hailing apps are not widely available in Saint-Tropez, and taxis can be difficult to find after midnight. Arrange a driver in advance or stay within walking distance of your accommodation if you plan to stay out late.
Saint-Tropez rewards those who slow down enough to notice its contrasts. One evening might begin with a quiet glass of rosé in a shaded square and end with electronic music on a moonlit beach. The bars listed here capture that range, offering everything from old-world Provençal warmth to contemporary Riviera glamour.
Wherever you choose to drink, the key is to savor the atmosphere rather than rush from venue to venue. The best nights in Saint-Tropez unfold naturally, led by good company, beautiful surroundings, and a willingness to let the town reveal its many layers after dark.
