Finding the right base for a family trip to Paris often feels like solving a complex puzzle. You need space, convenience, and a welcoming atmosphere, yet you also want to be steps away from the monuments that define the City of Light. The area surrounding Place de la Concorde offers a unique advantage for traveling families. It places you in the historic heart of the city, directly between the Louvre, the Tuileries Garden, and the chic boulevards of the 8th arrondissement.
For parents, the stress of navigating public transport with strollers and tired children can dampen the magic of Paris. Staying near Place de la Concorde minimizes that friction. You are within walking distance of the Seine, the Orangerie Museum, and the beginning of the Champs-Élysées. This central location means you can easily return to the hotel for afternoon naps or a quick swim before heading back out for an evening stroll.
The definition of a "family-friendly" hotel extends beyond simply providing a crib. It involves thoughtful service, interconnected rooms, and dining options that accommodate picky eaters. Many luxury palaces in this district have dedicated children’s programs, while boutique hotels offer a more intimate setting where staff can cater to your specific needs. Understanding this balance is key to selecting the right property for your crew.
Safety and accessibility are paramount when choosing a neighborhood in a major capital. The 1st and 8th arrondissements, which flank the Place de la Concorde, are among the most secure and well-maintained areas of Paris. The wide sidewalks of the Tuileries and the pedestrian-friendly bridges nearby make it easy to navigate a stroller without the chaos of narrower, traffic-heavy streets found elsewhere.
While this area is historically associated with high-end luxury, there is a surprising diversity of accommodation styles. From opulent palace hotels that have hosted royalty to modern, design-forward residences with kitchenettes, the range is broad. Families can choose between the classic Haussmannian elegance of the right bank or the quieter, more residential feel of the streets leading toward Saint-Honoré.
Budget is always a consideration for families, and value often comes in the form of included amenities. A hotel that offers a hearty breakfast, complimentary Wi-Fi, and connecting rooms can save significant money compared to a cheaper room rate that requires eating every meal out. We have focused on properties that provide genuine value through space, service, or family-specific perks.
Below, we have curated a list of the best family-friendly hotels in this prestigious district. Each property has been selected for its ability to make parents feel relaxed and children feel welcome. Whether you are looking for a palatial suite with a view of the Eiffel Tower or a cozy family room with a kitchenette, you will find the perfect home base for your Parisian adventure.

When we arrived, with luggage in hand, we were greeted at the front door by the desk agent. Upon checking in he surprised us with a free upgrade to a deluxe room and we were extremely pleased with our accomodations. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was spacious. We stayed in room 588, and had a nice little balcony to which each morning we would open the window to drink our espresso. The location of the property is tucked away in the eastern portion of the 8th arrondissement. The neighborhood is very quiet and there was a store nearby to get essentials and also a boulangerie right around the block to get your morning pastry.
The location is very convenient, La Madeleine is a 5 minute walk, Place de la Concorde, Tuileries Gardens, and the Louvre are all about 20-25 minutes away on foot. If you need the public transport the Auber RER station is 5 minutes away, and there are other metro stations very close. I can't recommend this hotel enough!!

Hotel Queen Mary in Paris was an absolute perfect choice. The location is excellent – close to everything, yet in a quiet and safe area, which really matters in a busy city like Paris. The hotel itself is stylish, elegant, very clean and well maintained. The rooms are comfortable, cozy, and exactly what you need for a great stay.
What truly makes this place exceptional, however, is the service.
Special thanks to Klarissa at the reception – she is absolutely outstanding. Extremely kind, welcoming, professional and genuinely helpful. From the very first moment, she makes you feel taken care of and truly appreciated as a guest. She goes above and beyond, always with a smile and natural kindness. It’s rare to meet someone so dedicated and authentic.
Thanks to people like Klarissa, this hotel becomes much more than just a place to stay – it becomes a great experience.
Highly recommended, and we will definitely come back 👍

The hotel staff were all very friendly and created a comfortable atmosphere. The room was clean and comfortable. This isn’t the hotel’s fault, but the walls were thin and the doors were close together, so it was annoying when the guests next door were noisy.

The location is the best. It is an old building but clean and neat. The staff is really friendly and hospitable. It is 200 m. to the Madeline Metro station. It took 30 minutes from Orly Airport. Eiffel Tower is 2 km. long. Opera district is so peaceful.

Got to hotel about 4 hours early. Understanding too soon to check in. When desk clerk found out, we just arrived in Paris, he said he would check with housekeeping to see if we could get a room earlier. Meanwhile, he said since the breakfast room was still open, to go back and get coffee and some food (put on our bill). Best scrambled eggs ever. We did get in the room early and the young ladies who were at the desk later were also extremely helpful.

Superior room was small but didn't affect our stay. The bedding provided an exceptional level of comfort, arguably the most comfortable bed I have slept in! The air conditioning system operated flawlessly and silently, maintaining an optimal room temperature. The available facilities were good. The location is superb, situated approximately one mile from the Arc de Triomphe. €32 for breakfast but we went elsewhere so can't comment on the quality of the food. Recommend to anyone looking for a nice hotel in Paris.

My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The room was dirty upon check-in, and the level of cleanliness was completely unacceptable.
When I reported the issue to the receptionist immediately after entering the room, his response was rude and unprofessional. Instead of addressing my complaint, he said, “You must have used the room, so of course it got dirty.” This was an unacceptable and disrespectful way to treat a guest, especially since I had just checked in.
In addition, we were not given the room type that we had originally booked. The staff were unhelpful and unwilling to resolve any issues. In fact, several other guests were also complaining about the same problems, yet the employees showed no interest in helping anyone.
What made the situation even worse was that my personal belongings were moved from one room to another without my knowledge or prior consent. This is completely unacceptable and a serious violation of a guest’s privacy and trust.
Overall, there was not a single positive aspect of this hotel. Poor cleanliness, rude staff, lack of professionalism, and complete disregard for guests made this one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I would never stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Had a great time at this hotel and would love to stay there again.

A special thank you to Didier from reception and Habiba from housekeeping!!
Also a great location close to main attractions and lovely cafes, boutiques around.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a great experience with the hotel itself. I hadn't booked a room with a balcony or street view BUT did not expect to be staring at a concrete wall and filthy outdoor area plus into other peoples rooms - so some feedback for the hotel would be to make the courtyard a garden perhaps so it's something pleasant for people to look at instead of concrete! When I asked the hotel if I could upgrade rooms as I wasn't happy with the room. They sent me around in circles asking me to come back later on to speak to the manager then the following morning they asked me to come back later again to speak to a different manager anyway in the end the end they were fully booked for 3 out of the 5 nights that I was there, so I can fully appreciate they could not move me, however, they were extremely dismissive of me. I decided to leave the hotel because I hated the room so much and didn't want to stay another night. The manager was standing at reception when I went to leave and I explained that I disliked my room so much so that I've paid to go stay at another hotel and her first reaction was to let me know there would be absolutely no refund - which I didn't even ask for and Booking.com were handling on my behalf anyway. She was really rude and dismissive which was very disappointing! Very poor customer service on her part. I won't be returning which is a shame.

Worst experience for years
Firstly all the reviews in regards to not have a room available at 3pm is a fact. Not a one off case. It’s a business. No one gets their room at 3pm. If you are lucky you will get at 5pm. If you are unlucky like me, you will get your room card , they will send you to your room and the housekeeper will shout at you to go back to the reception. Then the receptionist will call someone for support and an arrogant lady will arrive who whatever you say to her she laughs. When eventually you get your room, you won’t sleep for the whole night. Unbearable noises from technical errors from higher floors will occur and when you report this to the reception, they will respond to you, that indeed you are right, more people reported this, but we cannot help you as we do not have any technician. The rooms are old and horrible btw.
Just stay away from this hotel.
Raushan Kydykeeva★☆☆☆☆
I had a very disappointing experience at Hôtel Castiglione — and unfortunately, this was already my second negative stay here.
I arrived at 5:00 PM, while check-in officially starts at 3:00 PM, but my room was still not ready. I was asked to wait 1.5 hours, and even at 7:00 PM the room was still not available. Each time, the staff blamed my “late reservation,” which is simply not a valid explanation for such a delay.
The attitude of the staff and the manager was extremely disappointing — rude, defensive, and completely lacking empathy. I was traveling with a small child who was tired, hungry, and crying, yet no effort was made to assist or prioritize the situation.
What shocked me the most was how our luggage was handled. The manager stated that the staff had “finished their work,” left our luggage near the elevator, and told us to carry it ourselves. We had to take our suitcases upstairs on our own.
To make matters worse, when we finally reached the room, the key did not work. And when I finally entered the room, I was met with yet another disappointment — the bed linen looked old and not fresh, with hairs on it.
These are not minor issues — this reflects a serious lack of professionalism, poor management, and complete disregard for guest experience.
During my previous stay, I also experienced serious issues, including a strong sewage smell and malfunctioning air conditioning/heating, which were never properly resolved.
This clearly shows a pattern of poor service.
I do not recommend this hotel.

Such a fun way for 4 people to share a room. Really friendly staff who helped with our early check in and making us feel welcome, and same with checking out and offering to hold our luggage for the day. There was also a free mini bar included and roof windows for ventilation. The location is excellent with the louvre only 10 minutes away and lots of cafes and restaurants surrounding it. All for a very reasonable price too. Would definitely recommend.

This hotel was great! The location was optimal especially for a first timer in Paris. Super close to the metro and the Louvre/champs elysee ! Rooms are a little on the smaller side but was still manageable.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The location was extremely convenient for our itinerary. Most major attractions, including the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, and the Pantheon, were around €15 by Uber, while the Louvre and Palais Garnier were within walking distance.
The atmosphere of the hotel was comfortable and relaxing. We stayed in a deluxe room, which offered enough space even though we had an extra suitcase for our pre-wedding photoshoot, including a wedding gown and evening dresses. Considering the price, the amenities were very satisfactory, including the hairdryer and WiFi. The room was also very clean, and we did not experience any noise issues during our stay.
The highlight, however, was the hotel staff. They were extremely helpful, kind, and responsive throughout our stay. They were also willing to assist us via WhatsApp, which made communication much easier and removed any language barrier. This was especially valuable, as communication in French had been one of the more challenging parts of our trip.
Overall, I would certainly choose this hotel again if I return.

The hotel is at great location. Great breakfast. Nice staff.
Only situation is that the air conditioner never worked.
We were lucky enough that only one day was hot and employees just recommend to open the windows. They Didn’t do anything to make air conditioner work in 10 days.
In these days (june-july 26) would be impossible to stay in that room.
Take that in account if you go in summer.
Leo Rocha★☆☆☆☆
Booked through Booking.com expecting the room shown in the photos. What we got was a box with a fan on a 33-degree day, zero mention of no air conditioning at check-in, and zero action after complaining to reception twice. The staff played dumb the whole time, pretending nothing was wrong so they wouldn’t have to deal with it. When we pushed harder, the first receptionist claimed the entire hotel had no AC. That was a lie. A second receptionist later admitted it was our room only. Meanwhile, the reception desk itself was perfectly air conditioned. We paid full price for a room that wasn’t fit for the conditions, with staff who lied to our faces rather than fix the problem.
The photos are heavily edited. The rooms are small. Before you book: call ahead and confirm your room has AC. Don’t trust the listing. Don’t trust the photos. And if you need basic comfort in a Paris heatwave, look elsewhere.

Great location but the queen room we got was very small for two people. We only have carry-on baggage so expect to be tight for space if you have any large suitcases. Area felt very safe, easy to get around with metro nearby, lots of asian restaurants around. Breakfast was not worth the 17 euros per person but in a pinch before heading out was handy, we paid for the convenience of breakfast I guess. Just meh for a fairly expensive stay for our 2 nights there.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. The location is excellent—you can easily reach all the main attractions either on foot or by bicycle. The front desk staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful.
Our room and bathroom were quite spacious. A huge plus was the smart TV, which allowed us to watch YouTube and stream shows online—a great feature that not many hotels offer. We didn’t need to use the air conditioning, as we happened to leave just as the hot weather kicked in.

Hello, We (my sister and I) had a delightful stay. The room was lovely (the refrigerator did not keep our cokes cold), the bathroom was great, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The physical location was close to shopping, several local cafes, and local transportation options. The staff was lovely!🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
My only complaint was that the room faced the street and the last evening the room was warmer than I'd like. I had the window open and at 12AM it was still rather loud outside, so I had to close the windows to get some rest for my early departure. I realize that this is out of your control, but I felt it important to mention.

This hotel was perfect. We stayed 2 nights but are already planning a return trip. The room and bathroom were large and comfortable. There is a small elevator. Good location, close to popular tourist sites such as the Louvre, Notre Dame, etc. Staff was very nice and friendly and the hotel was clean. Convenient and welcoming. We checked various sources for recommendations but ended up choosing Hotel Cambon for location and hoped for the best. We were delighted throughout our two night stay. We were able to get into our rooms right away (for a modest fee) and found every staff member (especially Raoul) to be friendly, kind and down-to-earth. We spent a lot of time hanging out in the lounge area and appreciated there were many rooms where we could eat, have a beverage or relax. The guest room was very comfortable and the bathroom had plenty of room. When we ventured out, we were a short walk away from major sites, dining, and shopping. We would definitely choose to stay there again for all of these reasons.

Great location, step out of the hotel, look right and you’ll see the Eiffel Tower. Seems to be a popular spot for photos. Not far from the metro which was easy to use. The restaurant downstairs is a good stop too.
A bit of a refresh is needed, but I understand renovations in older buildings are not easy. Yes, the rooms are a bit on the smaller end but that is normal for buildings of that age.
Bed comfortable enough, shower pressure good, staff always greet you with a smile. I would stay here again.

Hotel Le Pavillon was the perfect place for our weekend in Paris! The hotel is centrally located to a ton of great restaurants and shops and within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and Seine River. Our stay at Hotel Le Pavillon was excellent. The staff is so helpful and kind. The room was small but manageable. The location is perfect, so many bakeries and cafes steps away. Short walk to the Eiffel Tower. Close to the metro. When you go out and about they require you to leave your room key with them, which made us feel safe in terms of pick pockets. They can schedule a shuttle to the airport for you which was so convenient. We did not partake in breakfast so cannot comment on thay.

I had a wonderful first stay at this hotel and would happily return on my next visit to Paris.
The location is fantastic—right in the heart of the city, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and attractions within easy walking distance. As I was travelling solo for Fashion Week, it was incredibly convenient, and having my favourite café just across the street was an added bonus.
One of the biggest highlights was the air conditioning. I visited during one of Paris' worst heatwaves, and the adjustable AC made a huge difference, keeping the room cool and comfortable throughout my stay.
Breakfast was included during my six-night stay. While the selection remained the same each morning, there was a good variety of items, so it was still a satisfying way to start the day, even though it became a little repetitive after several days.
Overall, this hotel offers a comfortable stay, an unbeatable central location, and excellent air conditioning—something I especially appreciated during the summer heat. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are very tight and the breakfast was not good at all. The bread seemed to be stale and the cheese and meat tasted old. The location is pretty good because you are in walking distance of many restaurants and monuments. The people were quite helpful and friendly.

Great location, clean, and stylish hotel! I recommend the Volney Opéra to anyone looking for a quiet yet well-connected place in the heart of Paris. The Hotel Volney Opéra is just minutes from the Opéra Garnier, Galeries Lafayette, and the metro (Chaussée d’Antin – La Fayette or Opéra stations). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great hotel in a wonderful location. The rooms were large and well kept, and the bathrooms were also spacious, with both a shower and a bathtub. Although the hotel is on a busy road, our room was pleasantly quiet, which we really appreciated. The water fountain was a nice touch, and breakfast was very decent.
The only downside was that the rooms lacked some basic amenities you would normally expect in a hotel, such as a kettle, tea, shampoo, conditioner, bathrobes, and slippers.

We booked a deluxe room at this hotel but instead we were given a classic one. Staff at the reception told me a few times at the time of the check-in that we had a 'luxe' room. When I saw the room it was definitely not 'luxe' - nothing like what you see on the photos that they have for their deluxe room and based on which we had made the booking. Apart from that, this deluxe room didn't have simple toiletries, a kettle or an iron. If this was a deluxe room I really would like to see their classic room. The following morning when I asked if this was a classic room, they told me it was a deluxe one and if it was about the size of the room. No, it wasn't about the size. It is about the fact that you do not treat your customers equally and maybe you shouldn't be working in this industry. This was the fourth time we stayed in this hotel (mainly because the location is great) and the last one. Thank you very much for making our time in Paris so special.

The location, the quality of the hotel, and the cleanliness are impeccable. However, the breakfast is very poor for a hotel of this level. Our family stayed in Suite 402 at the Mondovi Luxury Suites, and we absolutely loved our stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly attentive, warm, and accommodating. The service was truly A+ and every detail was handled with care.
Our 2 bedroom suite was immaculate, spacious, and beautifully remodeled, with a sophisticated design that felt both luxurious and comfortable. It was the perfect setup for our family and truly felt like a home away from home in Paris.
The location in the 1st arrondissement was ideal, within easy walking distance of some of Paris’s best restaurants, shopping, cafés, and iconic sights, yet the suite itself felt peaceful and private.
What really made our stay exceptional, however, was the level of service. The entire team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well cared for throughout our visit. We have stayed in many wonderful properties over the years, and Mondovi Luxury Suites truly stands out. We would return without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious, beautifully appointed place to stay in the heart of Paris.

We absolutely loved our stay at Mondovi! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Helene who greeted us with such a warm welcome and gave special attention and care to our 2 year old son. We loved the location. It was quiet and peaceful while still being very close to shopping/activities. The room was clean and comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. Traveling with a toddler it was great to have a kitchen space and a table for him to eat at in the room. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking!

We stayed in late May, early June. Few notes: during a heatwave (95+ F) the AC kept up fine. We were there during PSG’s winning of the Champions League, and while the excitement near Concorde and Champs Elysees was intense, we could barely hear it (windows) and felt safe - even though we ventured out in the chaos. The flat itself was top-notch, we had a two-bedroom with a living room. Everything still modern and fresh. The washer/dryer worked, although a single unit it did eventually dry clothes. I rarely do reviews, this place was just fantastic for our family w/ kids 7 and 10 years old just arriving from the US, needing to acclimate.

We had a perfect stay at Mondovi Luxury Suites.
Our suite was very clean and spacious for a family of 4 adults and the living room / table was big enough for us to enjoy a meal there in the evening. We visited during the heatwave and our rooms stayed cool throughout with good air conditioning. The service was also incredible - everyone who worked there was so friendly. We also appreciated that they let us check in earlier than our check-in time. The location was obviously amazing given how central and well-connected it is and suitable for wherever you need to go.
We highly recommend this place and we will come back here when we are in Paris again!
Tips for a Stress-Free Family Stay near Place de la Concorde
Staying in the heart of Paris requires a slightly different strategy than a resort vacation. The logistics of meals, movement, and rest can make or break your trip. Here are essential tips to ensure your family maximizes the joy of this incredible location while minimizing the meltdowns.
Prioritize Proximity to the Tuileries Garden. The Jardin des Tuileries is your best asset when staying near Place de la Concorde. It acts as a massive, beautiful backyard for your children. Instead of relying on small hotel rooms for downtime, use the garden for morning energy burns. There are playgrounds, pony rides in the summer, and the famous trampolines. It is also the perfect spot for a picnic lunch, allowing you to save money on dining while letting the kids run free.
Request Interconnecting Rooms Well in Advance. European hotel rooms are notoriously smaller than those in North America or Australia. If you are traveling with more than one child, a single room will likely feel cramped. Interconnecting rooms offer privacy for parents and space for kids. These configurations are limited in historic buildings, so do not wait until check-in to ask. Call or email the hotel directly after booking to guarantee that your rooms are connected.
Utilize the Metro Line 1 for Easy Access. The Concorde metro station sits directly on Line 1, which is the most tourist-friendly line in Paris. It runs entirely along the main axis of the city, stopping at the Louvre, Châtelet, Bastille, and the Marais. It also connects to La Défense. Most stations on this line have escalators and elevators, making it the easiest route for strollers. Relying on this line reduces the need for taxis and the hassle of folding a pram on a bus.
Plan Breakfast Strategy Before You Arrive. Hotel breakfasts in this district can be expensive, sometimes upwards of 30 euros per person. While convenient, that is a significant cost for a family of four. Check if your rate includes breakfast for children. If not, consider walking to a nearby boulangerie for fresh pastries or locating a local café like Angelina on Rue de Rivoli, where the hot chocolate is a meal in itself. Having a plan prevents expensive, hungry desperation.
Schedule Sightseeing in Short Bursts. The area is dense with art and history, but children have a limit. The Musée d’Orsay or the Louvre can be overwhelming. Break up museum visits with trips back to the hotel or to the Tuileries. For example, visit the Louvre in the morning when it opens, have lunch, then return to the hotel for a rest. In the late afternoon, take a Seine river cruise from the Port de la Conférence, just a short walk from Concorde, which offers a seated, low-energy way to see the city.
Staying near Place de la Concorde places your family in the most regal and convenient setting Paris has to offer. The wide-open spaces of the square and the adjacent gardens provide a sense of freedom that is rare in such a dense urban center. It is a district where you can feel the history of France while giving your children the space they need to be children.
Ultimately, the success of your Paris trip hinges on the comfort of your home base. By selecting a hotel that understands the nuances of family travel—whether through spacious suites, attentive concierge services, or simply a warm welcome for little ones—you set the stage for a memorable vacation. From this central point, the magic of Paris is not just outside your window; it is easily within reach, ensuring your family leaves with cherished memories rather than travel fatigue.
