12 Best Tourist Attractions in Torremolinos

Torremolinos has come a long way from its humble beginnings as a quiet fishing village. Today, it stands as one of the most vibrant and accessible resort towns on Spain’s famed Costa del Sol. Its unique blend of traditional Andalusian charm and modern tourist infrastructure makes it a favorite for travelers seeking both relaxation and culture.

The town enjoys a privileged location, just a short drive from Málaga International Airport, making it incredibly convenient for a quick getaway or a long, lazy holiday. With an average of over 300 days of sunshine a year, there is rarely a bad time to visit. Whether you are drawn by the golden beaches or the bustling plazas, the weather is almost always on your side.

While many visitors come for the sun and sea, Torremolinos offers a surprisingly rich historical tapestry. The old fishing quarter of La Carihuela retains its maritime soul, where traditional "chiringuitos" serve freshly caught sardines on the sand. This contrast between the old world and the new high-rise skyline creates a unique urban landscape worth exploring.

The culinary scene here is a major draw, particularly for seafood lovers. The local specialty, "pescaíto frito" (mixed fried fish), is a must-try, best enjoyed with a cold glass of local wine or a chilled beer. Dining with your toes in the sand while watching the Mediterranean waves is an essential Torremolinos experience.

Beyond the beach, the town is surprisingly walkable, with a long, palm-lined promenade connecting the main districts. This pedestrian-friendly design encourages visitors to wander from the bustling center of Bajondillo to the quieter, more traditional corners of the town. It is this ease of exploration that keeps families and couples returning year after year.

Accessibility is another key strength of this destination. The local train line, Cercanías, connects the town directly to Málaga city and the airport, meaning you can easily enjoy a car-free holiday. This makes it an excellent base for exploring the wider Andalusian region without the hassle of driving.

For those looking to balance beach time with sightseeing, Torremolinos delivers a diverse range of activities. From botanical gardens and historic towers to water parks and vibrant nightlife, there is something to satisfy every type of traveler. Let’s explore the essential stops that should be on your itinerary.

Interesting and good for an hour to an hour and a half's casual walk . Not as big as I thought as was expecting a bigger place and more crocs. Would be worth timing the visit to one of the shows to make the time more interesting. We arrived at 11.05 am , did the walk around by 11.50 and then sat waiting for the show at 12.30. Also had a few other animals such as turtles, terrapins, snakes and lizards 🦎.
Sean Jefferies★★★★★
Great park, cool to feed the fish and the turtles. The crocs were in an indoor building when we visited in April as it was too cold for them, but it was great and you could get very close to them. Well worth popping in there
Missy B★★★★★
I loved it! I love crocodiles and there were plenty. They seemed well cared for and the keeper was very knowledgeable. There was also some snakes, lizards, tortoise, lots of birds, and dragonflies flying around but apart from the crocodiles, the capybara were the added bonus.
Steve Kirk★★★★★
The crocs are beautiful and the people supporting them are too. Lots of knowledge and no dramas. It's not a big place but there's a lot of crocs.
Sophie Anne★★★★★
Great, small park. Was dead when we went, didn't get to hold a baby croc like they have done in the past. That's the bit we was really looking forwards too!

Buy your tickets online in advance to save money. The Fast Pass was also definitely worth it for us, as we managed to skip all the long lines. The food selection on-site was quite poor, but we brought our own snacks, so it didn't bother us. The attractions themselves were absolutely great! It was just a shame that not all of them were operational throughout the entire day. I highly recommend checking the opening times for individual water slides beforehand. We stayed for the whole day and ended up completely exhausted but absolutely thrilled.
Rasmus JN★★★★★
If you want to spend the day with the young family members, fantastic. We were there on a Sunday, not crowded at all. The lines were acceptable. The food and drinks offered around the park were really good as well. The sunbeds' capacity was not where near maximum so we had a really good day
x★★☆☆☆
The water park is nice, but it’s extremely expensive. We paid €78 for one adult and one 17-year-old, and that was just the entrance fee. Unfortunately, the service at the restaurant in the back was disappointing. I asked if they had iced coffee, and the employee said yes. She then brought me a cup of ice and a hot coffee. After that, she told me they didn’t actually have iced coffee. It was quite strange, especially since she didn’t seem to understand or speak much English. The staff at the entrance, however, were very friendly and helpful. The locker system was also disappointing. You have to pay €11 for a locker token, but only receive €5 back afterward, meaning the locker still costs €6. Considering the already expensive entrance fee, that felt unnecessary. By the time we paid for the taxi and admission, we had already spent over €100 before even entering the park. For that price, the park is honestly quite small. The regular swimming pools were average in size, and while the slides were fun, the overall park is definitely not worth €78. One positive was that there weren’t many loud, screaming children, although that may have been because we visited on a Monday. I was debating between giving 2 or 3 stars, but in the end I chose 2. The park looks much bigger online than it actually is, and the advertising creates higher expectations than the reality delivers. It’s a fun experience if you’re willing to spend the money, but I don’t think it’s good value. One final downside: when leaving, there is a taxi stand outside, but taxis arrive very slowly. People constantly skipped the line, and the drivers didn’t do anything about it, often picking up people who had arrived much later than we did. Also closes at 6 so very early.
Dj Frisko★★★★☆
Great experience, I would suggest that you arrive early to avoid the long queues as it's a fair bit of waiting to go on water slides. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. The large swimming pool is very good and it is warm. Only downside is that there weren't tokens to store your belongings in the lockers so be prepared to hang on to your things.
James Conn★★★★☆
Worth the trip, a good waterpark, which is busy. Worth paying for a locker and sun lounger. The food and drink is very pricey so suggest pre packing or walking 15 mins to the local supermarket under the bridge.

Parque de la Batería is one of the most pleasant green spaces in Torremolinos. Wide paths, tall palm trees and beautifully kept gardens create a relaxing place for a walk. The small lake with rowboats adds charm, and the watchtower offers a lovely view over the coast. There are plenty of shaded benches, playground areas and open spaces where people read, stroll or simply enjoy the sun. A calm and well-maintained park that feels like a peaceful pause between the city and the sea.
Marius Cerchezan★★★★★
This is a clean and well-maintained park. Great for toddlers and children. The playground is not so big but has interesting equipment. Sometimes it can be a bit crowded. The carousel near the park is wonderful and affordable. There is an elevator with a great panoramic view of the city Toremolinos and the coast with the beach. I recommend it!
Lloyd Maidment - playmusic2000★★★★☆
Lovely park, great vistas, however the panoramic lift was out of order. Got off at the local train station and we walked through the park to Torremolionos along the beech, just beautiful
Gypsy 62★★★★★
Love this tranquil park. Even more enjoyable, now there is a lift up & down to the main street, off the seafront.
IAIN LAWRIE★★★★★
What a beautiful park. We got the bus from Torremolinos, got off at Carihuela bus stop. The access lift is nearby, it's only 1€ to use( free for over 65's). There's plenty to see and do. There's a man made boating pond, however due to water shortage it is drained at the moment. In one of the corners there is a well equipped children's play park. The snack bar is located there too. You get return by the lift or catch the train as Montremar station is close to the park entrance. Well worth a visit.

We walked past twice before we realised this was the famous tower...there didn't seem to be any entry to it, the information board outside was interesting but if i remember, in English only. The walk past along the steps is very pretty! If you're here, don't miss the church around the corner, itsya beauty.
Staci Monroe★★★★★
The area this landmark is found in, is a delight to see. The streets are very old European charm, lots of cute shops, quaint restaurants and just a terrific atmosphere.
Karl C.★★★☆☆
Probably the only oldest tower fort in Torremolinos and worth a look. Obviously you cant go inside, due to its condition...except cats that is.
Mohammed Malik★★★★★
Five star for standing the site of time. It’s amazing to think that this Tower has seen so much of history. And slowly town was grown surrounding it.

Lovely little botanic garden, the japanese garden was great, the birds were an added extra but not really that much of an addition, could do with modernizing the habitats, but the waterfalls ponds and tropical planting was great and it was seriously peaceful, the guy at the entrance booke us a taxi back into town as the heat was oppressive took 3 minutes to come and cost €6!
Andrea Salgueirinho★★★★★
The Jardín Botánico-Histórico La Concepción in Málaga is a true oasis just outside the city. Walking through its paths feels like entering another world, surrounded by lush tropical plants, towering palms, bamboo groves and elegant historic gardens. The sound of water, birds and wind through the trees creates a calm atmosphere that invites you to slow down and simply enjoy nature. It’s beautifully maintained, spacious and perfect for wandering without hurry, discovering hidden corners, viewpoints and shaded benches along the way. A wonderful place to reconnect with nature and spend a peaceful morning or afternoon. I loved the different owls btw.
Marian Ilie★★★★☆
Nice little botanical garden, unfortunately not very easy to get to. The bus doesn’t get to there, you have to walk about 10-15 minutes. Very bad that they have no way of getting a drink there, no water or a vending machine to buy a drink, so make sure you get water with us otherwise if you get hot and thirsty you can have anything there
Ivan Deviatkin★★★★★
One of the most underrated locations on the coast! The garden is full of plants accompanied by their names and basic information. It's all in Spanish though. There is also a lovely Japanese garden with goldfish and turtles in the pond. The garden has got also cages with birds and animals. Parrots were the most joyful ones. Finally, the museum of the old industrial site is jusy gorgeous. You can turn on the mechanisms to see how they milled grains and opersted the equipment with hydropower. Upstairs is a compact but informative collection of local species.
Mari-Liis Tammsaar★★★★☆
Beautiful and well-maintained park with lovely walking paths. It was a very pleasant place to spend some time. The only downside was seeing the birds kept in cages, which was quite sad.

A fantastic hiking spot with beautiful views. We came here with our 8-year-old son and two Jack Russell terriers and had a wonderful day. The hike took us about 1.5 hours to reach the top, where we stopped for a snack and enjoyed the scenery. There are no cafés, shops, or facilities on the route, so be sure to bring water and food with you. If you’re hiking with dogs, don’t forget supplies for them as well. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys nature, hiking, and spending quality time outdoors with family.
John H (J.out&about)★★★★★
Lovely walk up, bit of a pull but the views from the top make it worthwhile. There’s plenty of mountain bike trails separate from the road which looks pretty good. There’s plenty was two buildings possibly coffee shops but we’re all closed. Overall, an enjoyable walk😎
Erik Das★★★★☆
Long 2 hour walk from Arroyo. Better take some food and water. Your condition should be good, otherwise better stay on the beach.
Mateo★★★★★
in a word, wonderful views and excellent bike paths
Louis Bartholomeus★★★★★
Very beautiful place to go for a hike. The slope is quite high at the beginning but it is definitely worth it due to the views. There are no cars and it is paved, so it is very safe. Unfortunately, it is not that easy to find water, so take water with you. If you want to eat or drink smth you need to go to the teleferic, which takes a while.

If you dont believe in magic go see this show. So cohesive and interactive. Funny and mesmorizing. The best thing we have done this holiday. Incredible magician and singer. Family orientated. The young kids that get involved are incredibly talented. Multi talented staff so attentive re: drinks etc. Thorughly enjoyed it. Ages 38, 37 and 15! Well done!!
Sean Mayes★★★★★
My son is obsessed with magic and our friend recommended going to this show whilst we were visiting from the UK. We honestly had no idea what to expect and went with an open mind. As we arrived, Matt was at the door performing card tricks and immediately you could tell he was in a different league to others. My son was completely blown away by his skills and sat mesmerised for the entire show. I am not going to give any spoilers in this review as you need to go and experience this for yourself. What made the night for us was how nice both Matt, Alana and their staff were to everyone. You can see how much passion as gone into this show, and how much they care about their art. There was so much love that has gone into the show and it was there to see. My wife and I both got called onto stage to be part of the show and found the mix of comedy, magic and timing to be spot on. Matt took time after the show to allow my son to perform a card trick for him. Matt was so kind and positive about this that he has made my son's year! Since the show my son has been watching Matt's vieos on YouTube and bought the cards and trick guide to use everyday. The was also the option for unlimited drinks package with the show but for us, Matt and Alana made the night with their love for the magic and music. We would happily go back again and again, and cannot recommend this highly enough. Matt was an absolute gentleman who demonstrated such incredible skills and kindness towards his audience. It was so apparent from the moment you meet him how much he cares. Thanks Matt and Alana for a night we will never forget.

Just back from going to see this show. I didn’t know what to expect but it was highly rated on trip advisor and reasonably priced for what is a whole evenings entertainment so went for it. To say it was the highlight of our trip is an understatement! My wife and I, along with our teenage and 7 year old daughter absolutely loved the show. It felt very intimate and no seat would be bad in the venue. The whole audience was involved and it felt like such a combined experience!! There was something for everyone and I couldn’t have hoped for a better evening. The drinks flowed and we were well attended, and felt very welcome the whole night. Honestly, a great evening all round.
Zoe Bailey★★★★★
I had high hopes for this following the reviews I had read and im really pleased to say it did not disappoint! Firstly you get a whole jug of your chosen drink and I was offered jug refills 3 times throughout the show so had I had had the bladder to manage it could have finished off about 5lts of drink! The hosts were welcoming and the whole show was enjoyable clearly delivered by a lovely couple who love thrir job! It was funny, amazing and the singing was wonderful. The puppet was hilarious. We had so much fun and even my nearly 13 year old who is impressed by very little loved every minute of it. I recommend this show to anyone wanting a fantastic evening out. Well worth it
Joe O'Meara★★★★★
We had the best time! Great performances from everyone, excellent show. A real mix of comedy, magic and music, with some puppetry sprinkled in. Great drinks and everyone was super friendly. Intimate venue so be sure to book well in advance so as to not miss out on seats.

Lovely way to spend an hour. Lots of interesting things to see and explore. Highlights were the cannons, tower to climb and view the coast, and my son loved the exercise play areas and park. The little mouse house was adorable too. The lake was low when we visited so didn't look great and the boats that other visitors had posted about were not there. Also, the carousel was only 50c for my son and I rode for free...and we loved it. It was so quiet here, really was a lovely way to spend an hour or two away from all the tourist hot spots.

Casa de los Navajas is one of the best quick stops in Torremolinos if you want something more atmospheric than the beach strip. It’s a small neo-Mudéjar mansion built in 1925–26 by Antonio Navajas, a local sugar entrepreneur, perched above El Bajondillo beach with great sea views from the upper terrace. It was restored and reopened to the public in 2014, and entry is free. Useful details: * Free entry * Address: Calle Antonio Navajas Ruiz – Bajondillo, Torremolinos * Usually open Wed–Sun (often split hours, roughly 10:30–14:00 and 15:00–18:30; seasonal changes apply) * Closed early in the week fairly often, so worth checking same day before going Worth it? Yes — but as a short scenic stop, not a major museum. Go for the architecture and views, not for a long visit. Best paired with a walk down to Playa El Bajondillo after.
JR Suarez★★★★★
A beautiful Neo-Mudéjar mansion built by a wealthy sugar-industry family in the early XX century. The exterior is the highlight, with great views and beautiful architecture. Inside there’s not much to see, but it’s often used for art exhibitions and events. Worth a visit if you in Torremolinos.

I was absolutely captivated by the intricate chair crafted from bone, metal, shells, wood, and leather. Being from Iran, it immediately reminded me of Khatam—our traditional marquetry used for jewelry boxes. Seeing such a masterpiece here as well was incredible. Beyond the furniture, every single window in the building offers a unique, breathtaking view. If you don't mind climbing a few stairs, I highly recommend setting aside an hour to explore this gem!

Free lift. Stairs to and from the stair lifts out of order. Schedule to be closed from 14-16, but yesterday it was closed 13:55. There is an other lift closer to the city, with just one set of stairs and no siesta. It costs ,50€ per person one way.

The Flower Boat, located on the seafront promenade, is a colorful and symbolic sculpture that beautifies the coastline with its cheerful floral forms. It's the perfect spot to capture the relaxed atmosphere of the beach and promenade, offering a vibrant and striking image for tourists and locals alike. It reflects the creativity and appreciation for public art in Torremolinos' recreational spaces.

Tips for Visiting Torremolinos

To make the most of your time on the Costa del Sol, a little local knowledge goes a long way. Understanding the rhythms of the town, from dining times to transportation, can elevate your trip from a standard beach holiday to an authentic Andalusian experience. Here are some practical strategies to help you navigate the area like a seasoned visitor.

  1. Time Your Meals to Local Rhythm.
Restaurants generally serve lunch from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM and dinner from 8:30 PM onwards. To get the best tables at popular chiringuitos in La Carihuela, arrive early or book ahead, especially during the July and August peak season.

  2. Use the Cercanías Train for Day Trips.
Avoid the hassle of parking and traffic by utilizing the local train line. It is the fastest and cheapest way to reach Málaga city center, the airport, and even the nearby resort of Benalmádena. Trains run frequently and are air-conditioned.

  3. Respect the Sun, Even in Spring.
The Andalusian sun can be intense, even outside the summer months. Always carry water and apply high-factor sunscreen, particularly if you are walking between districts or spending the day at the beach. The UV index here is often higher than visitors from northern climates expect.

  4. Venture Beyond Calle San Miguel.
While the main shopping street is famous, the real charm lies in the side streets and the old fishing quarter. Wander off the beaten path to find family-run tapas bars where the menus are in Spanish and the prices are significantly lower than the tourist traps.

  5. Book Water Parks Online in Advance.
If you plan to visit Aqualand or other family attractions, purchasing tickets online beforehand can save you money and time. These venues often offer significant discounts for online bookings and allow you to skip the long queues at the entrance gates.

  6. Pack for the Evening.
Nights can be breezy by the sea, even after a scorching day. A light jacket or shawl is advisable for evening strolls along the promenade or dining on open terraces. You will also find that locals tend to dress up a bit more for dinner than they do for the beach.

The beauty of Torremolinos lies in its ability to cater to both the package holidaymaker and the independent explorer. You can spend your morning sipping coffee in a traditional plaza and your afternoon lounging on a sunbed with all the modern amenities at your fingertips. It is a destination that doesn’t ask you to choose between comfort and culture.

Whether you are visiting for a weekend or a fortnight, the town invites you to slow down and embrace the Mediterranean pace of life. From the scent of jasmine in the gardens to the sound of waves lapping against the fishing boats, Torremolinos offers a sensory experience that lingers long after you have returned home.
