12 Best Nightlife Spots in Fuengirola

Fuengirola has long outgrown its reputation as just a daytime beach town. Once the sun dips behind the Mediterranean, the eight-kilometer promenade transforms into a pulsing artery of music, laughter, and clinking glasses. The energy here is distinctly Andalusian but with an international twist, reflecting the diverse crowd that calls this stretch of the Costa del Sol home.

Unlike the superclubs of Marbella or the gritty late-night chaos of Torremolinos, Fuengirola offers a balanced middle ground. You can find everything from authentic Spanish taverns where flamenco echoes off the walls to sleek cocktail lounges with panoramic sea views. The best part is that the town is incredibly walkable, meaning you can hop between venues without ever needing a taxi.

Navigating the nightlife here requires a bit of local knowledge. The action is spread across several distinct zones, from the vibrant backstreets of Los Boliches to the glamorous marina at the port. Understanding the rhythm of the night is key: locals eat late, arrive at bars around midnight, and don’t hit the dance floor until well after 1:00 AM.

For visitors, this schedule is a gift. It allows you to enjoy a leisurely dinner, take a sunset stroll, and still arrive at the first bar before the crowds. You can start with a quiet vermouth on a terrace and gradually build up to a high-energy club without feeling rushed.

The venues below represent the best of what Fuengirola has to offer. They have been selected not just for their popularity, but for their consistency, atmosphere, and ability to provide a memorable experience. Whether you are a solo traveler looking for conversation or a group ready to dance until dawn, there is a spot here with your name on it.

To help you plan your evening, this guide breaks down the must-visit spots by vibe. You will find traditional tapas bars where the sherry flows freely, chic rooftop terraces perfect for a first date, and underground music venues that attract some of the best DJs on the coast.

Remember that dress codes are generally relaxed compared to other parts of the Costa del Sol, but beachwear is rarely welcome after dark. A smart-casual approach will get you through the door at almost every venue listed below.

It's a really nice place to have a Shisha , listen to music or watch a football when some good games are on. Watermelon 🍉 flavoured Shisha is a must have , not too expensive and followed by some drinks ,will make your night amazing. Bar staff is very friendly , and we spend a couple of evenings out there 😜😁. Great place. Unfortunately I didn't try any of their food as I was too busy drinking 😜

Had such a lovely experience at Old Town Fuengirola! The atmosphere was cozy, the food was delicious, and everything just felt so welcoming. A special shoutout to Julia — her smile honestly made my whole day. She is a phenomenal waitress: attentive, kind, and genuinely cares about the guests. Service like that really makes a place stand out. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in town!

Ordered a Guinness and, unfortunately, it wasn’t a great start. Way too much foam, and once I tasted it there was a clear metallic aftertaste — almost like that weird “blood in your mouth” kind of vibe. I asked for a new one and that was no problem at all. The second pint was better poured, but sadly the taste still wasn’t right. I later spoke to a friend from Ireland who said this often comes down to the beer lines not being cleaned properly. That said, the service was excellent. An Irish guy behind the bar was genuinely friendly, understanding, and handled the situation perfectly — big plus for that. So, thanks for the great service! I probably won’t be back for a Guinness specifically… but hey, never say never 😄🍺

Fabulous Irish Sports Bar with a great vibe. Staff are attentive and Moises and Thor are great fun. There is a Happy Hour and drinks are great value. Guinness is on the menu along with most cocktails and Jameson of course. My carajillo is a nice way to end the day and English tea is an added bonus. Thanks to all for your great service.

Great nightclub in Fuengirola. The atmosphere was really nice, the music was good, and the staff was friendly. It is a good place to go out at night with friends, have a drink, and enjoy the vibe. I had a great time at Old Town and would recommend it.

Bouncers choose when and where is appropriate to knock someone out rather than escorting them out. They don t care about gender but men are easy targets to be thrown out so be aware if you drop your drink by accident they will cause. A scene

Had an amazing night at St Patrick’s! Not only is it a great place to have fun, but they genuinely look after their customers too. My partner lost her phone on the dance floor, and Martín, the owner, went out of his way to help. After midnight, he even stopped the music for a moment to ask if anyone had found it. It turned out someone had already handed the phone to the bar staff, and we got it back safe and sound. Massive respect to Martín, the team, and the honest person who returned it. Great atmosphere, great people, and a place where you actually feel safe while enjoying your night out. Highly recommended!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An absolute gem! The cocktails are outstanding, beautifully balanced, creative, and made with real passion. The owner is incredible and pays attention to every little detail. You can see how much love and dedication has gone into this place. He even designs the artwork for the menu, the bottle labels, and so many other unique touches himself, making the bar truly one of a kind. The atmosphere is perfect, with great music, the ideal temperature, and a stylish interior that makes you want to stay for hours. If you’re looking for exceptional cocktails and an unforgettable experience, Speakeasy is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back!

Horrible experience yesterday. Such a shame for a bar owner to attack us with this attitude. We arrived in our loved place before, 5 of us yesterday. We sat down at the back table and there were 2x tables close to each other free. And suddenly bartender came( as we know he is owner as well) started shouting on us straight away that we ocupied 2x spots. We said with calm manner that its ok we gonna move all of us to one table. But he kept going attacking us that we need to move immediately. Then drama started and he called us uneducated. That was completely unprofessional behavior. And we just left the bar. Will not recommend that place to anyone anymore. Our guest and friends were from Switzerland so disappointed. My self i worked in this industry many years and i know what is professional service. OWNER / bartender IS AGGRESSIVE , uneducated person! Shame!

Yesterday horrible experience. As my friend commented in other review i were a guest last night. 5 of us. We wanted to show our loved place for our guests from Switzerland and the Bar owners attitude was completely big shame, Agressive and unprofessional. I saw bar owners responded to previous review with big lies. That was main problem he approached us straight away with aggressive and insulting manner. He is saying that he asked us politely to move to 1x table - that is complet LIE. Straight away he started shouting on us that we need to move to one table, that was the main reason why got shocked that he approached us in this away the first minute he arrived at the table. Bar owners is arrogant, unpleasant person. Do NOT RECOMMEND ANYMORE!

Ok spot, we came here for a drink after being out for dinner. We stayed for a second drink which the waiter didn't seem too impressed by. Alot of local people began to arrive so I got the feeling he wanted the tourists out.

A few cocktails & watched the world go by. The service was good, attentive. A great wee place, would recommend a visit.

This place used to be a nice meeting point for people in Fuengirola, young and not so young used to make a very successful spot out of this bar. Nice music, nice staff and professional attitude made the Tahiti one of the hottest bars in town. Nothing even close to what this place has become: a dull place with unprofessional staffs with a random attitude towards the clients and offering a poor selection of products. I fail to see any reason why anybody should visit this bar. Walk by, there are much better places only meters away from Tahiti.

Very bad service. I sat down on the porch and asked for a Pina colada. The waiter Jorge, told me to go to the bar and not to sit at the porch. I ordered the drink from a woman, who made a drink that was not a Pina colada, but something totally weard. The cup was garnished with a slice of lemon. €8 badly spent. No need to come back. Single guys are not welcome.

Good music venue based around an open square in the harbour area. Lots of outdoor seating where the waiters are plentiful. The food menu is quite limited, but the pizza and nachos were very good. Dancing is encouraged, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Maybe not hidden, but still a perfect gem. A great place to end a day at the beach. Have a swim in the pool, have a margarita, enjoy food and live music, all while watching the sun set over to mountains and the moon taking over the night sky. We just droped in, got a table, and had an awesome evening at this place. Recomended.
Karoliina V★★★★★
Amazing rooftop bar with absolutely stunning views. We could see both the beach and the mountains, and it was the perfect place to take beautiful photos, especially around sunset. The waiter was very friendly and welcomed us warmly, letting us choose any free table we liked. Orders were taken directly at the table, which made everything feel relaxed and comfortable. We ordered a beer and a cocktail, and when I asked for a recommendation, the waiter suggested a drink for me — and it was excellent. The drinks arrived quickly and both tasted really good. Before leaving, we asked the waiter if he could take a photo of us, and he kindly did without hesitation. Overall, such a lovely experience with great service, delicious drinks, and an unforgettable view.
Mariam Tsitulauri★☆☆☆☆
After spending time at the beach, we decided to visit this bar for some cocktails. I was also interested in taking a look at the hotel, as I was considering staying there in the future. When we arrived at the rooftop bar, the staff informed us that the pool and sunbeds were reserved exclusively for hotel guests. We completely understood and respected their policy, so we simply ordered cocktails and sat down at a table. Since I had just come from the beach, there was still sand on my feet. I noticed an outdoor shower nearby and decided to rinse the sand off. At that moment, a member of staff saw me and aggressively told me that using the shower was also prohibited. Of course, I apologized immediately, as I had not been informed that guests of the bar were not allowed to use the shower. Had I known, I certainly would not have used it. However, the staff continued to behave rudely, and a woman from the bar came over and told us that they would no longer serve us because I had broken their rules. All of this took place in front of many other guests, which was both embarrassing and highly unprofessional. I acknowledge that I could have asked before using the shower, but it was also their responsibility to clearly communicate this rule from the beginning. The aggressive attitude and what felt like being thrown out of the venue went far beyond what was reasonable. Based on my unfortunate experience, I would not recommend visiting this place.

To start with. Wauw, what an amazing view! We came for the first time at this Skybar in Fuengirola. it should be open until 20.00 according to google maps, but it was open until 18.30. But luckily we were a little before six and we could still see a beautiful sunset! We ordered a soft drink and red wine. We couldn't order a snack anymore but we did get nuts. €7.80. These are good prices for a Skybar! It was a pitty that they turned off the radio at 6:15 while the bar was open until 6:30, but well.. 🙂 We enjoyed and we will definitely come back! 2nd review We came back and it was great again, but €6,50 for a tinto de verano??!!! Thats not okay...

Tao Lounge in Fuengirola is massively overhyped and deeply misleading. Their description promises “an oasis of fun, relaxation and flavour” with expert mixology and a full sensory experience — but the reality couldn’t be further from the truth. Let’s be honest: their real specialty is shishas, and that’s where it ends. The food is clearly an afterthought. The photos of pizzas, pastas, and other dishes on their menu appear to be stock photos — trust us, what arrives at the table looks nothing like what’s advertised. We ordered a pizza and a couple of beers to enjoy outside in the sunshine. Somehow, the pizza arrived raw and lukewarm at the same time — which is impressive for all the wrong reasons. Curiosity (and regret) led us to try the spaghetti. The menu photo looked delicious, and the server proudly claimed it was “homemade bolognese.” What arrived was spaghetti mixed with cheese, dumped into a bowl with no sauce, no flavour, and no resemblance to bolognese whatsoever. It was simply inedible. The photo of the pizza we left behind says it all. If you’re coming here for shisha, that’s fine — but if you’re expecting a proper meal, save your money. Walk two more blocks and you’ll find genuinely good restaurants that actually deliver what they advertise.

We reserved a table for five people to watch the Norway vs. England match on Saturday night. When we arrived, we were told that our reserved table had been given to someone else. No explanation or apology that made up for the inconvenience. After around 30 minutes of confusion, the staff finally seated us on a front sofa. However, once we were settled, we were told that it was a “Golden VIP” area and that we had to spend a minimum of €150 to stay there. Considering that the restaurant had already given away the table we had reserved, expecting us to meet a €150 minimum spend to compensate for their mistake was unacceptable. We chose to leave instead. Very disappointing experience. A reservation should mean something, and customers shouldn’t have to pay extra because of a venue’s own error.

This is for Sujiyaki, NOT Tao Lounge! No idea how that mix-up happened, sorry. Anyway, Sukiyaki....Really great food, hot dishes cooked to order and served HOT, and fast friendly service too. The cat robot server is a fun gimmick too. Been here twice now and been really happy with all the food, oh and a bottle of house white (verdejo) really nice as well. Will go again....and again....and again!
Katelyn Houston★☆☆☆☆
I am writing this review not because I attended this restaurant, but because I was “greeted” on the street by a staff member in the most rude and disrespectful way. One of the promoters out on the street stopped me in my path while I was with my family and pointed at my birthmark on my face and asked “what went wrong there?”. I had never felt so publicly humiliated in my life. I have had this birthmark near my mouth since birth which has made the skin a little thicker in the area, it has caused me terrible pain throughout the years as it developed into a tumour so for some random man to point it out in the street so loudly and abruptly- was incredibly rude. I was so shocked by the comment I just walked on, paying little attention to his comment. My dad turned back to him and explained how disrespectful that comment was just for the employee to tell my dad to f* off instead of apologising. I understand that it is their job to speak to people on the street but calling out a persons imperfections out of nowhere in-front of everyone is incredibly uncalled for. I can only hope nobody gets insulted by this man in the future. I am 19 years old. Due to this I will never attend or recommend.

Don’t go if you are English. Only know Spanish songs and don’t even know who Camelphat are … questionable if you call yourself a DJ (this was DJ Minimen). On a positive you get a free drink on entry. But when a DJ doesn’t know any decent songs you wonder what they listen to and how they create a playlist when all the pubs around the area clearly do. DJ Minimen is THE WORST!!! Don’t go if he is playing

Practical Tips for Enjoying Fuengirola’s Nightlife

Understanding the local rhythm and etiquette can make the difference between a good night and a great one. These practical tips will help you navigate the town like a regular, avoid common tourist pitfalls, and discover the authentic side of Fuengirola after dark.

Time your night the Spanish way. Eating dinner before 9:00 PM marks you as a tourist, and arriving at a club before midnight means dancing alone. Start with a relaxed drink around 10:00 PM, move to a livelier bar by midnight, and hit the clubs after 1:30 AM. Most venues stay open until at least 4:00 AM on weekends.

Explore beyond the Paseo Marítimo. The beachfront promenade is beautiful but often overpriced and geared toward visitors. Walk two or three blocks inland to streets like Calle Lamo de Espinosa or the area around Plaza de la Constitución to find bars with better prices, stronger drinks, and more local character.

Use the Cercanías train for late-night connections. The local train line runs surprisingly late and connects Fuengirola with Los Boliches, Benalmádena, and even Málaga city. If you are staying outside the center, the train is far cheaper and more reliable than taxis during peak hours.

Respect the siesta-to-fiesta transition. Many bars close between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM, especially in summer. Do not interpret this as a lack of nightlife. The town reawakens after 9:00 PM, and the streets fill with families, couples, and groups starting their evening paseo.

Carry cash for smaller venues. While major clubs and upscale cocktail bars accept cards without issue, many traditional tapas bars and chiringuitos operate on a cash-only basis. Withdrawing €40–60 before heading out will save you from scrambling for an ATM mid-evening.

Pace yourself with free tapas. Some of the older bars in Los Boliches still serve a small free tapa with every drink. Ordering a caña or a glass of wine in these spots is not just economical—it is a cultural experience that connects you to a disappearing Spanish tradition.

Plan your exit strategy before you start. Taxi ranks at the port and near the bus station can have long queues after 3:00 AM. Save the number of a local radio taxi service or download a ride-hailing app before your first drink. Your future self will thank you.

Fuengirola’s nightlife is not about seeing how many venues you can cram into one evening. It is about savoring the transition from sunset to sunrise, moving at the town’s relaxed but purposeful pace. Let the night unfold naturally rather than sticking to a rigid itinerary.

By choosing a mix of traditional and modern spots, you will experience both sides of this coastal gem. The memories made in these streets—whether over a shared plate of jamón or a sunrise dance on the sand—are the ones that linger long after the holiday tan fades.
