Maybe the worst accommodation we’ve ever stayed in. First of all, the photos don’t show that there are no windows!!!!! Either the rooms have no windows at all or the windows face the hallway. The room smells awful and is full of mold, the hair dryer doesn’t work… In Madrid it was around 35°C on average, and not only did the room smell constantly, but the air conditioning didn’t work either!!!! We had a separate bathroom, which greeted us with hair under the sink, and I won’t even start talking about the shower. You can’t run the water normally – you have to keep pressing a button like you’re in a shopping mall, because apparently they want to save water. Our room was next to the shared toilet used by five other rooms, so people were constantly slamming the door in the morning, and since the walls are paper-thin, you can hear everything, including when someone is using the toilet. All in all, if I could give them 0 stars, I would.
Joey De los Reyes★☆☆☆☆
The reviews and rating in booking.com is not true. The actual facility is far from what is posted in booking.com specially the bathroom and toilet. Its hot in the room you cannot adjust the temperature. We felt like we’ve been scammed and we have to book a new accommodation the next day. Its funny and annoying when we checked out the same receptionist who gave us our key didn’t even care and just ask us to leave the keys on the counter top and let us leave without ask it seem like its a normal scenario for them. I don’t recommend to book this place as you can find a better one with way lower price.
Jinete Solitario (TR)★★☆☆☆
It was somewhat cheap and definitely central and the wifi worked well. Our room had an air conditioner that worked well but it made a lot of noise. Throughout the 5 night stay, sleeping could be particularly difficult due to other guests slamming doors, talking and yelling all hours of the day and night. Worst was what seemed to rationing of toilet paper in the shared toilets - include buying your own in your budget. The shower/toilet blocks were dirty and what was the worst was that despite having cleaners working there, the smear and pieces (yes... pieces) of feces on the toilet room wall remained there from the day we arrived until day we left. Staff were friendly but lack of enforcement of civility on problematic guests, and lackluster approach to care of residence points towards staff care very little of the residence having any quality.
mikel thepickle★☆☆☆☆
Rated high on booking but this place is not very good. They ask you don’t eat or drink in the room, little insulation between rooms, no seat, no microwave. The shower is push button you gotta push every 30 seconds. Don’t do it!

We had a private room with a shared bathroom. The bedroom is simple, the bed is comfortable, it was clean. We had a small window and a small balcony with a view on the street. The building inside looks kind of old and not in a very good condition, you can see it's on the cheap side. But it's fine to spend some nights in the city if you just need a place to sleep. The location within the city is great but mainly touristic. Two very small bathrooms were shared on one level by approx 10-15 rooms. They seem to be cleaned once or twice a day, so in the morning they look used after several persons taking a shower. Also toilet paper can be frequently empty, I had to ask once the receptionist to refill it in the morning. The bathrooms are not very well equiped, missing some space to put your clothes or utensils. All in all a good place with everything necessary in okay condition but not more than that. Staff was always friendly.

The hotel was very clean and the room was lovely had a coffee machine in it you could use and a mini bar if wanted to and it was fairly cheap. Located right in the middle of madrid within walking distance from everything and restaurants near by too. Service from all hotel staff was friendly and helpful and they even let us store our luggage there once we had checked out so we could explore while waiting to leave for the airport. The only down side to this hotel would be the breakfast , we had it included in our booking the breakfast was very poor. We went twice out of the 4 days we was there it was the same food everyday and dry pastries and left out fruit if this was improved for further visits it would be 5*

I visited this hotel for a city break and wasn't disappointed. Upon arrival, the receptionists were very helpful and informative. Hotel is down a quiet street with very little noise outside and is within walking distance of all the main attractions. The whole hotel is spotless and rooms are very spacious. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Madrid. The only thing I would mention is the breakfast wasn’t the best we had it for 5 days on our visit but only visited it twice. it was very repetitive and could of been changed up daily and the fruit and pastries was left sitting out making them go stale and hard. If this was improved then it would be brilliant

I stayed on the 4th floor. I loved the fact that the sky light opened for fresh air and an electronic blind to darken the room. Handy location to chocolate churros and bocadillo de calamares and supermarket and art museums.

We booked a room for three nights online. Arrived at hotel to have them tell us our reservation was at a 2 star hotel 15 minutes away. Our reservation had sho boutique contrast address and they could not explain how this could happen. We paid for 4 star hotel and were sent to their 2 star sister hotel. Huge disappointment. First two photos is the room we stayed in at thier 2 star hotel. Third photo is the picture of what we reserved online. Fourth photo is the section in my email confirmation reservation on where to go. Huge disappointment. Be careful for bait and switch when you reserve online.

Good location, stuff very helpful they took our luggage before the check in time. Over priced roomand it is not good enough so small and the bed was not comfortable (the sofa is so bad quality) also the sheets were not clean until we asked the responsible to change it and she did, for this price you can find so more better than this. The only good thing is the location. You can change the room for better…

the reception is a rolling office desk crammed into a tiny hallway that you must squeeze past to get to your room. in the room, it feels very drab and gray. not a touch of character to the place. convenient location.

Pros: The room was quiet, in a great location, and very clean. The restaurants next to the accommodation were delicious, and the lunch sets were great value. Cons: My room didn't have a hairdryer; I don't know if they forgot to put one in. Also, the hot water was very limited, only enough for about five minutes of showering. This is something to be aware of when staying in winter.

Hotel is in a great location, a short walk from the main train station, about 30mins from the airport in a taxi and easily accessible on the metro. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The room is lovely, great size, big bathroom. The hotel has a lovely rooftop bar and a terrace with a great bar. Jennifer was our server, she was so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend and we will return.

We had a wonderful time at the hotel. All the amenities were great. We had a great time at the pool and we absolutely loved the terrace! Our bartender was Spyros and he was very pleasant and did a great job making sure we were happy and had our glasses full, always with a smile! From top to bottom, the experience at this hotel was fantastic and we would definitely come back.

Great location! Welcoming and professional staff at reception! The whole place is immaculate, really comfy beds and quiet room. The (small) pool with spa features offering great relaxation after walking the streets of this beautiful city!

The room was very comfortable, good linens, it was spacious and I was supposedly upgraded to a deluxe room. The only issue was that the deluxe room had no natural light, the window led to the inner area part of the hotel. The premises were in very good conditions and the bathroom was also nice and spacious. The only thing that was confusing were the halls, it sort of felt like a maze.

Excellent welcome and very friendly staff. The room and bathroom were very clean. The beds were comfortable and ensured a good night's sleep. Although our room faced the street, the place was very quiet and we slept very well. There is a nice and cozy lounge to relax in. The location is excellent and close to everything you need. Excellent value for money.

This is by far the nicest hostel I have ever stayed in. Granted my backpacking and hostel days were about 20 years ago, but either way this place is nice. We stayed in a private room which was great. I assume the shared accommodation is nice as everything else is about this place.

Very spacious room, exceptionally clean and fantastic location. Coffee and tea Highly recommend!! Things to note that could make it even better. * There were signs of a Spanish breakfast on a Wednesday, but that didn't happen * Kitchen needs a freezer or ice maker * Kitchen needs a stove We hope to be back! 😊
Maxime Noel★☆☆☆☆
I want to star by saying it wasn’t unbearable, but highly disappointing. Two main issues marred this experience: 1 the complete lack of privacy screens. Pretty self explanatory, but none of the beds have so much as a curtain so anyone coming into the rooms floods it with light, and makes getting changed in the rooms impossible. 2 the kitchen had absolutely nothing to cook with. Not a stove top, not an air frier, only a microwave and a toaster oven that explicitly states it’s not for meat or fish. The oven is for staff use only. For reheating food, fine, but don’t expect to do much or any cooking. Finally, it was not a social hostel at all. The only way to meet people was with the Spanish breakfast or pizza night, which were both one day only; there was the pub crawl, but 15$ seemed steep and also means you’re locked in to trying to make your moneys worth. Ultimately a pretty lacklustre experience, better off signing up to another hostel nearby.
Gabriela Domenzain-Vera★★★★★
If you like higher end hostels that give more hotel vibes rather than homestay vibes, this is a good place for you. I think the location was pretty good and centric, especially considering that Madrid is so spread out. I wasn't a fan of the lack of kitchen appliances (no stove, oven only for staff, toaster limited to certain items), but there was free coffee and I arrived on free pizza night!

From the moment you arrive the staff are attentive and help with bags, checking in was quick. Just note that it is a city hotel and the "courtyard" is a sliver of natural light, that said, the room was spacious and clean, modern and well equipped with mini fridge, lots of storage and a HUGE bathroom wit fluffy robes and slippers! Whilst we didn't need much (and iron on the first day) I'm sure if we needed anything the staff would have helped. Everyone very welcoming and friendly from the reception to the maid service. Rooms cleaned daily. Good air conditioning made it a comfortable sleep, and a firm mattress which may be too firm for some, but was fine for us. Location is excellent, didn't realize just how central is was. Would definitely stay again, perhaps upgrade to a suite with a view! The 8yh floor has a gym but also viewing areas of the fountain and city scape which was lovely. Thank you to the whole team!
Victoria Wall★★★☆☆
The location is useful and easy for sightseeing and getting to central. The hotel itself isn't quite 5 stars. Staff are professional, but not quite friendly or supportive. Security asked me what I was doing when I walked back into my the hotel to go to my room (I was casually dressed as I changed to go to an exercise class and it was very hot out). She was pleasant enough I guess once I said I was a guest. Dialling room service means you order from the restaurant attached and is okay. I did get an early check in and the room was small but clean. Nothing quite wrong and nothing quite right either so I won't rebook here. But do book if you feel like it. You will have a nice enough stay.
Yi Ting Ho★☆☆☆☆
BE AWARE OF THIS HOTEL. Run!!! We booked our stay nearly two months in advance, only to arrive and be told that our reservation could not be found in the system. We spent a significant amount of time at the front desk while staff tried to sort out the issue, wasting a large portion of our day. When you’re traveling, the last thing you expect is to arrive at a hotel and discover that your confirmed reservation apparently doesn’t exist. What was even more frustrating was that it was clear the issue was caused by the hotel’s own system or internal error. we were left waiting while they figured out what went wrong. Judging by the way the situation was handled, it certainly felt like we were not the first guests this had happened to. Secondly, this property does not live up to five-star standards. The facilities feel outdated, and the front desk staff were not particularly welcoming or helpful throughout our stay. To make matters worse, about two weeks after we returned home, our credit card was charged an additional $151 without any explanation. We did not use the minibar, did not incur any extra charges, and never received any receipt or itemized statement to justify this charge. Charging a guest’s credit card after checkout without documentation or explanation is completely unacceptable and scam. After traveling extensively and staying in hotels around the world, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we have had. Between the reservation mishandling, poor service, outdated facilities, and unexplained post-stay charge, I cannot recommend this hotel at all. UPDATE TO THEIR REVIEW: First, the response attempts to shift responsibility for the reservation issue by stating that it did not originate at the hotel. And they did admit it was their system issue at the front desk. More importantly, we were explicitly informed at check-out that the breakfast charges would be waived. We left with no outstanding balance, received no receipt, and signed no authorization for additional charges. We also did not use the breakfast service on our second day. Finding a $151 charge on our credit card without receipt after returning home was therefore extremely surprising. Also, it’s a fraud. This experience reflects a lack of accountability and raises serious concerns about how guest disputes are handled. After traveling extensively around the world, this remains one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have encountered.

Tourist. Stayed here for 4 nights in June 2026. This is a terrific location for visiting Madrid. Close to transit but we walked everywhere instead. Taxis have a pick up area next door. The staff were very helpful answering my questions. And the delicious breakfast was more than I expected. I would happily stay there again (hopefully not during a heatwave next time).

I really want to give this place the benefit of the doubt because when I first walked into my room, I was genuinely excited. It looked beautiful, spotless, elegant, everything you’d hope for. Then I sat on the bed and felt glass cutting into my fingers. I was bleeding all over the sheets before I even processed what had happened. There were shards of glass all over the bed. I called the front desk and housekeeping came up. She tried to explain that the glass was only on the bed, like that made it better somehow. Then as I was walking to the bathroom to clean up my fingers, I found bigger chunks of glass on the floor. At that point they asked if I wanted to change rooms, to which I of course said yes. It was wild to me that it wasn’t their immediate first offer. The next day the manager called and she was genuinely sweet, I could tell she cared. She mentioned she wanted to compensate me somehow but said that because I booked through Costco Travel her hands were tied. I understand that third party bookings can be complicated but I didn’t get glass in my bed from Costco. That’s on the hotel. She offered me a drink at the bar (I don’t drink) and sent sweets to my room. It was a kind gesture but honestly I paid over $1,200 for three nights, I was injured, and I was moved to a room that was no upgrade or anything special. Not the typical customer service for a 5 star hotel. The manager’s instincts were good and I genuinely believe she wanted to make it right. But she needs better tools and guidance for situations like this because the system she was working with let her down. And it let me down too.

I travel to Madrid often for work and Hotel Vincci Soho is my favourite destination. I stayed for 10 days on my last visit. The hotel is beautiful, rooms are spacious and clean, staff are friendly and service is wonderful. Don’t miss the greatest breakfast, beautiful set up, meticulously put together, various options and relaxing atmosphere. In particular the guest experience manager, Ima, is always greeting guests with a warm and friendly smile. One of the staff, Patricia, was always helpful and greeted me with a smile every time I asked for ice. As American, I am used to having lots of Ice in my drinks.

We stayed in nice hotels in Barcelona and San Sebastián during our Europe trip but by far the nicest hotel we stayed at was the Hotel Vincce SoHo. Not joking at all. The rooms are great. Clean, well designed, super modern and a lot of amenities. The hotel is lucky to have Francisco. Great guy, great English and extremely motivated to make sure you have what you need and go above and beyond (was not asked to say this). Extremely pleased. The location of the hotel is also very central to a lot of main attractions. If we come back to Madrid, will stay here again.

Second time at this hotel. Can’t be faulted. Situated in a lovely historic area of quiet streets with individual shops and restaurants yet only a few minutes walk to Plaza Del Sol, Plaza Major and El Retiro. Staff were great. Lots of choice at breakfast. Lovely outside area within the hotel. Can’t wait to go back.

Had a wonderful stay at Vincci Soho! The hotel is beautiful, perfectly located in the heart of Madrid, and made exploring the city so easy. The room was lovely, comfortable, and very well maintained. What really stood out was the staff — everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. They gave great recommendations and were always happy to help. Based on this experience, I would highly recommend both this hotel and the Vincci Hotels brand. I would happily stay here again!

Stayed at Hotel Vincci Soho was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The breakfast is fantastic, with a wide variety of options. We weren't supposed to stay in Madrid, but due to a problem with our flight, we had to spend two extra days there. We're so glad we chose Vincci Soho, it made an unexpected situation much more enjoyable.

The location is perfect, right in the heart of Gran Via. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and I especially loved having a balcony in the dorm room. The common space is a nice spot to relax or have a snack. I’ll definitely be back because I loved the atmosphere! My only complaint was the service during checkout; the lady at the front desk was quite unfriendly. A simple "goodbye" or "see you next time" would have been much appreciated.

I was in a 8-bed female dorm. The room was ok, the shared bathroom on the floor was ok as well. The bed was comfy. The only thing I didn’t understand was why they had put a bed directly under the ceiling light of the room? I was unfortunate to have that one bed out of the 8 in the room, and it would be so bright every time someone opened the light of the room over me while I was trying to fall asleep.

Disappointment to the core, 1 June 2026, checked out from 209 room, kept NY bag with receptionist 2 girls and for my surprise once I collected and reached my new location, I find out ny Philip sonictooth brush was stollen from the bag. Tried to call them by phone they are miserable and no one answered, I went back and asked them to returned and we all ve fine but the after receptionist a tomboy girl full of tattoos she was just smiling with evilll face, rude and zero professionalism she said that she couldcheck the cameras and that to call police. As per now there's a case against them and I suggest everyone to not trust the stuff, my belonging were in the reception and 2 girls from reception knows what happened. This things happens when you hire cheap laborers from cheap zones. Sad but truth. Avoid pls.

The Palace Hotel Madrid was the perfect way to begin our trip in Spain. Even though we stayed for only one night, we had such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, very elegant, and everything was spotless and super clean. What made the stay even more special was the staff — everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful at all times. From check-in to check-out, we really felt comfortable and well taken care of. The atmosphere of the hotel was calm, luxurious, and relaxing, exactly what we needed after traveling. The location was also excellent and made it easy to enjoy Madrid right away. Here is a beautiful, detailed Google review in English based on your experience. It captures all the details you mentioned, including the specific vibe of the place. You can copy and paste it directly: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This place is absolutely magnificent and a must-visit when you are in Madrid! It is a historical gem, and in my opinion, it easily ranks among the top 5 places to visit in the city. The moment you step in, the stunning dome makes you feel like you are sitting inside a royal, historic palace. The ambiance is incredibly beautiful, peaceful, and calm. The service here is outstanding. The staff members were so lovely, welcoming, and professional. We were assisted by a wonderful female employee who went out of her way to help us choose drinks and dishes that have an authentic connection to Madrid. Their menu is very extensive, offering a great variety of coffees and teas. While they currently do not offer Afternoon Tea during this period, they mentioned that they will be bringing it back in the future. They also noted that they have another boutique hotel where Afternoon Tea might be available. Considering the premium, strategic location in Madrid and the upscale experience, the prices are very reasonable and fair. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an elegant, peaceful, and historic experience in Madrid!

We had a great stay at Feelathome Cortes! The apartment was very clean, smelled brand new, and was in a great location. Everything felt comfortable and well maintained, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Javier was especially kind and attentive throughout our stay. He even made sure our AC was working properly, which we really appreciated. His customer service truly stood out and helped turn a stressful situation into a positive experience. The only issue we experienced was during check-in. We did not receive communication beforehand, so when we arrived, we were confused about where to go. There was no clear sign at the entrance for reception, and we had to ask someone nearby who mentioned there might be another hotel on the 7th floor. We went there and found a sign directing us to the 8th floor reception, but since it was before 9 AM, it was still closed. We ended up calling customer service and used our mobile data while waiting for assistance, but the response was slow. Thankfully, Javier helped us once we waited at the front desk, and his excellent service really made up for the inconvenience. Overall, despite the check-in confusion, we had a wonderful stay. I normally do not leave reviews, but this place and Javier’s kindness deserve to be recognized!

This isn't a traditional hotel but rather several elegantly appointed floors within a grand residential building — once you adjust your expectations, it's actually part of the charm. The standard room is very small but brilliantly designed — every inch of space is thoughtfully used, with smart furniture that makes the most of what's there. No view (it faces other buildings quite closely), but the trade-off is perfect: absolute silence. The reception on the 8th floor is open until 6pm — the staff are very nice and helpful. After hours, entry is via code — smooth and hassle-free. What really elevates the stay is the location. You're smack in the middle of Las Letras with everything reachable on foot. Downstairs and all around you'll find excellent restaurants (don't miss La Mafia se sienta a la mesa), modern cafés for breakfast, and great spots for bocadillos and tapas. The Prado and the stunning Retiro Park are just minutes away. Cleanliness: impeccable. Would stay again.

Tips for Booking a Hotel Near the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum

While the location is undeniably convenient, securing the right room requires a bit of insider knowledge. The Paseo del Prado area operates at a premium, and demand fluctuates significantly with the city’s event calendar. To ensure you get the best possible experience without unnecessary costs or stress, consider the following strategies used by seasoned travel planners.

Book for Sunday or Monday nights for better rates. Because this neighborhood is a major business and diplomatic hub, weekend leisure demand shifts. You can often find significantly lower rates on Sunday and Monday evenings when corporate travel pauses, allowing you to enjoy luxury properties at a fraction of the weekday price.

Request a room facing the interior courtyard if you are a light sleeper. Many of the grand hotels sit on busy thoroughfares like Carrera de San Jerónimo or Paseo del Prado. While street views are scenic, the nightlife and traffic can be noisy. Courtyard-facing rooms offer the same luxury with a quieter, more restful atmosphere.

Verify the exact walking route to the museum entrance. The Thyssen is a large building, and while a hotel may be "close" geographically, the entrance to the permanent collection is specific. Ensure your hotel is on the correct side of the Paseo del Prado to avoid a confusing detour around the traffic-heavy boulevard.

Leverage the hotel concierge for museum tickets. While you can book online, high-end hotels in this district often have priority access or partnerships with the cultural institutions. A concierge can sometimes secure entry times that are no longer available to the general public, especially during blockbuster temporary exhibitions.

Check for "Golden Triangle" package deals. Many hotels near the museum offer cultural packages that include breakfast, a welcome drink, and sometimes even museum passes or guided art tour discounts. Booking a package can be more cost-effective than purchasing these elements separately.

Staying near the Thyssen-Bornemisza means more than just a short commute; it is an investment in the rhythm of Madrid. You are choosing to wake up in the middle of a living museum, where the architecture outside your window rivals the canvases inside the galleries. It allows for a slower, more relaxed pace of travel, where you can return to your room for a midday siesta before an evening of tapas and flamenco.

Ultimately, the perfect hotel is one that disappears into the background of your memories, providing comfort and ease while the city takes center stage. By selecting a property from this curated list, you are ensuring that your focus remains on the art, the food, and the vibrant culture that makes this specific corner of Madrid truly unforgettable.
