Casa Vicens, Antoni Gaudí’s first major residential project, is a riot of color, texture, and Moorish-inspired design tucked away in the quiet neighborhood of Gràcia. Unlike the more crowded Sagrada Família or Park Güell, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a more intimate look at the architect’s early genius. Because it sits slightly outside the traditional tourist center, choosing the right base nearby can dramatically change the feel of your trip.
Staying near Casa Vicens places you in one of Barcelona’s most authentic districts, where narrow streets give way to bustling plazas filled with locals. You are far enough from Las Ramblas to avoid the noise, yet close enough to reach the city center in minutes via the metro. This balance makes it a favorite choice for travelers who want a cultural experience without sacrificing convenience.
The area surrounding the monument is served primarily by the Fontana and Lesseps metro stations on the Green Line (L3). This line runs directly to the heart of the city, connecting you to Las Ramblas, the Gothic Quarter, and the port without changing trains. Having this direct artery nearby means you can explore all day and return to a calmer, more residential atmosphere at night.
Gràcia is famous for its village-like atmosphere, independent boutiques, and a dining scene that leans heavily toward Catalan tradition. From vermouth bars to modern tapas spots, the streets around Carrer de les Carolines offer a genuine taste of local life. You will find that the best hotels in this area reflect that same blend of heritage and contemporary comfort.
When selecting a hotel here, you should look for properties that offer easy walking access to the monument while also providing strong public transport links. Many of the top options are boutique in style, housed in renovated 19th-century buildings that echo the architectural charm of the neighborhood. These often include rooftop terraces, plunge pools, or quiet interior courtyards—valuable amenities after a long day of sightseeing.
Because the area is less commercialized than Eixample or the Gothic Quarter, accommodation here often provides better value for money. You get more space, a quieter night’s sleep, and a stronger sense of place. Whether you are a solo traveler on a Gaudí pilgrimage or a family looking for a comfortable base, this neighborhood has a distinct advantage.
Below is a curated list of the best places to stay within walking distance or a very short metro ride from Casa Vicens. Each option has been chosen for its balance of location, quality, and guest experience to help you make the most of your visit to this architectural gem.

Fine hotel quite near to La Rambla. Quite close to the hotel there are bus stops and metro stations.
Room was well lit and spacious. Supermarket and other stores are just a few meters away from hotel.

Just had an amazing stay at Pol & Grace Hotel! ⭐️ The staff was super friendly and made me feel right at home. The breakfast? Absolutely delicious! 🥐🍳 I would totally recommend this place to my friends. Five stars all the way!

I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Pol & Grace in Barcelona. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The location is excellent, with easy access to public transport, great restaurants, and major attractions. The hotel has a unique, stylish atmosphere that makes it truly enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Barcelona!

I was looking forward to staying at this hotel, despite the fact that it is located on a fairly noisy street. However, my experience before even arriving was disappointing.
After making my reservation, I received an email on Friday evening at around 9 p.m. asking me to send my credit card details by email. I did not feel comfortable doing this, as I don’t believe it is safe or professional to request sensitive payment information through email. I suggested that, if payment was necessary, they could send a secure payment link instead.
They eventually sent a payment link, but I had specifically booked a flexible rate that stated payment would be made at the hotel. I explained that I found it unusual to be asked for advance payment under these circumstances and that I did not feel entirely comfortable with the process.
Rather than addressing my concerns or trying to reassure me, the hotel simply cancelled my reservation.
As a result, I will never stay at this property. This was my experience with the hotel, and unfortunately it left a very negative impression before my stay had even begun.

I’m not usually the type to leave negative reviews for a restaurant or hotel—in fact, I think this might actually be my first time. However, I had the worst experience at this hotel. I arrived in the early evening, only to find a loud motor noise coming from inside the wall (not from outside), making it completely impossible to sleep in the room.
Despite acknowledging the noise—which would have turned my night into a total nightmare—the staff simply offered me a complimentary breakfast. As if I’d even want breakfast after an all-nighter! They then offered a full refund at 8 PM in Barcelona If I left the room, in the middle of August, making it literally impossible to find another 3 or 4-star hotel at the last minute.
Fortunately, I managed to find a decent hotel at the last second, but it was far from the city center, required a taxi at my own expense, and completely ruined the start of my evening in Barcelona.

Pros: Good~ value. The subway and bus stops are very close, and it's a 10 minute ride to Plaza de Catalunya. Has a supermarket right in front of the establishment. Friendly staff. Comfy bed. Cups in the bathrooms were a plus. TV had Netflix! Vending machines, coffee makers and infopacks are available in the lobby.
Cons: The mattresses were dirty, mostly hair but still icky. Towels also had the same problem, with lipstick stains and so on. There is almost no hot water in the evening, and it takes a while to get it running hot at other times. Walls are VERY thin, hearing every laugh, every speech, every activity and every door being opened and closed was infuriating. Wi-Fi was not working. I know it's a cheap accomodation but it could have a shared kitchen or a minibar in the room, or atleast a kettle..

This unassuming hostel in the Garcia neighborhood was just what we needed. It was in an amazing little neighborhood with many tasty restaurants and charming squares to sit and eat and joy the families hanging out late into the evening. Our only issue was figuring out the water. We had some cold or too hot showers. We didn’t mind as the room was clean and just what we needed. Others have said the beds were too soft I found them absolutely perfect. Our last room was so hard I woke up sore every morning so this was great.

Staff was very friendly, rooms were clean. It was a very basic room, seemed a bit like a hospital room in terms of functionality. I liked that Netflix was included. The walls are very thin and I was able to hear a lot of what was going on on the floor and reception. Also I had practically no day light in my room as my room was located in some back alley between two buildings. Also I wasn’t really able to get fresh air into the room because of that as the air smelled like fried food (not in a good way). Well, I had a room and a bathroom to myself and for two nights that’s ok. Just for sleeping and Netflix it’s ok. Would not enjoy to stay longer than that, as there is no real comfort. The bed is totally ok though. Also my ceiling fan was very dusty and U didn’t want to use it because of that. A good thing is the location at the metro station and various bus stations.
Gabby De Wet★★★★☆
The booking process was smooth and without a problem. The room and bathroom we shared were small but adequate. Everything was clean. Staff at reception very willing to help and had good knowledge of the area. Metro 2 minutes walk away. Hotel well located. Walking down straight onto Place de Catalonia but its a long walk back as its uphill. Breakfast was available right across the road. Both good.

Very decent and cool hostel, it's a bit old, but good size on our room and same with the bathroom. Had a view towards the backalley. I'd recommend it if your just need a place as a base for your stay in Barcelona.

It was exactly what I needed: a nice little uncomplicated hotel to lay my head while I was in Barcelona. Easy access to public transportation, full continental breakfast, several quality stores and restaurants nearby.
A special thank you to Miriam, who went out of her way to make sure I was able to get to my train on time. Service above and beyond!

There was a huge cockroach in the room as soon as we entered, and the room smelled like sewage inside. It was just awful. When we showed the administrator the cockroach that we had to catch ourselves, he simply shrugged his shoulders without offering any solution.
Getting to the hotel in the evening from the airport is quite difficult.

The hotel is in a good location, but the air conditioning in the double room on the fourth floor wasn't very strong; everything else was fine.

Stayed for a weekend, lovely staff, very helpful and friendly. Got a glass of bubbly as a welcome.

One of the best experiences we’ve had in Barcelona so far! The hotel itself was really nice, comfortable and well kept, but the real main characters of our stay were Diego and Eric. Their service was excellent and they made everything so fun, you could tell they genuinely care about making guests feel welcome. Highly recommend Hotel Catalonia Park Putxet if you want a great stay with staff that actually make a difference!
Paul Parent★★★★★
Catalonia Park Putxet is a practical, no-frills option set on the quieter slopes above the Gràcia district, offering a more residential feel compared to the busy city centre. Its location is one of its strongest assets: slightly elevated, it provides a sense of calm while still being within easy reach of key attractions like Park Güell and the lively streets of Gràcia, either on foot or by a short metro ride.
The hotel itself is modern and functional rather than luxurious, with clean, straightforward rooms designed for comfort over style. Many rooms benefit from natural light and, depending on the floor, partial city or hillside views. While the décor is fairly standard, everything is generally well maintained and suited to short stays or city breaks where you spend most of your time exploring.
Common areas are simple but efficient, and the rooftop pool is a welcome bonus in warmer months, offering a relaxed spot to cool off after a day of walking Barcelona’s hills. Service tends to be professional and efficient, focused more on practicality than personal touches, which matches the hotel’s overall positioning.
Breakfast is decent, with a typical buffet selection covering continental and hot options—nothing particularly memorable, but reliable and convenient. Nearby, you’ll find bakeries, cafés, and local restaurants in the Putxet and Gràcia areas, which are generally more interesting than the immediate surroundings.
Overall, Catalonia Park Putxet is a solid choice for travelers who prioritize location, value, and functionality over charm or luxury. It works especially well as a base for exploring Barcelona while staying slightly removed from the city’s busiest streets.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, with bus and metro stations nearby, making it easy to explore the city. Our room was comfortable and had a terrace, which we really enjoyed. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. We also appreciated the luggage storage after check-out, which was very convenient for our late flight. Booking directly through the hotel’s website was a great experience and offered very good value for money.

I stayed here for three nights while visiting my family in Barcelona—what a great experience! I had a double room and felt like I had plenty of space. The hotel smelled nice and was very clean. I visited the terrace a few times to enjoy the view of the city and take a moment to relax. I also found it easy to access buses and trains from the hotel’s location, which made getting around the city very convenient.

Athena Calogeros★★★☆☆
Location was a reasonable distance to the tourist areas if you don’t mind walking. Our room was spacious with a basic kitchenette and dining table/chairs. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Barcelona is expensive so perhaps it was reasonable value to stay here compared to other options.
We didn’t have a positive check-in experience. We arrived tired after many hours of travel and when we approached the counter the staff did not greet or acknowledge us. There seemed to be a minor issue that they were addressing but a simple “hello, we’ll be with you in a moment” would have helped us feel welcomed. After several minutes of standing there we were finally knowledged. Then we were unexpectedly charged the city tax which I believed had already been paid in advance. The staff member disregarded my concern and told us “city tax is always paid during check in at all hotels” which is not actually true. My advice is to check your booking because in some cases you’ve paid in advance and other times you have not, it’s unclear and inconsistent. The hot water mostly was non existent. It took 10 minutes before it got warm one day, the second day it never got warm. The temperature in the room was hard to regulate.

+ Big rooms, clean comfortable.

- The location is not that great, narrow street and the view is of ther buildings in front of the hotel. Other than that, the place ws good.

Overall, we had a very good experience at this hotel. The location is very convenient, the food is delicious, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Everything was great and we really enjoyed our stay.
Unfortunately, there was one thing that really disappointed us — we found cockroaches in our room. We saw them in the bathroom and near the entrance to the room. Honestly, I haven’t experienced anything like this in a hotel for a very long time, so it was quite shocking and unpleasant.
Apart from this issue, the hotel itself is really nice and we were happy with everything else. I simply want to mention it so that future guests are aware that they might encounter this kind of unpleasant surprise.
I really hope the hotel takes care of this problem, because otherwise it is a great place to stay.

Great stay with excellent location!
We had a wonderful stay at Aparthotel Mariano Cubí. At €352 for two nights, it offered good value for money. The reception staff were helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived.
The Location & Parking:
Fantastic and highly convenient. It’s surrounded by great stores and offers easy access to La Rambla and the Gothic Quarter. It is a pleasant 30-minute walk to the Sagrada Família and less than a 15 euro fee taxi ride to the port. If you are driving, there is a convenient parking option with direct access to the hotel (€26 per night via a professional third-party company).
The Room & Soundproofing:
Our room was clean and well-equipped, but there were a couple of negative points. The soundproofing is quite poor—we could clearly hear people talking in the next room, their television, and chairs scraping on the floor from the level above. Furthermore, the double bed is actually two singles pushed together, which is a bit uncomfortable if you sleep in the middle.
The Bar:
Right next to the lobby is a bar called Cactus Bar. It’s a really nice place to chill, whether you sit inside or outside. The only downside is the early closing times: the outside area closes at 22:30, and the bar shuts completely at 23:00. They could easily stay open an extra hour, especially during the spring and summer! Also, the barman/waiter didn't seem very happy when people walked in, giving the impression he just wanted his shift to end. Despite that, it's still a nice spot for a drink.
Dining:
Breakfast is around €16 per person, but we chose to eat out instead since there are numerous cheaper options right in the neighborhood.
Overall, despite the noise issues and early bar hours, we had a satisfactory stay and would still recommend it!
Anchal Arya★★★★☆
The room was spacious and offered plenty of space to relax. The only reason I’m not giving a 5-star rating is that the in-room locker was faulty and couldn’t be repaired during our stay, so we had to store our belongings at the reception locker. The location was also quite good, with the metro station just a 10–15 minute walk away.

From the moment we arrived at Aparthotel Silver Barcelona, the experience was incredible. The staff welcomed us like family and surprised us with an upgrade to a terrace-level room with an amazing view of the city. The room was HUGE compared to many others we stayed in during our trip through Spain, and the private terrace made the entire experience unforgettable.
Traveling from the United States for our first stay here, we honestly could not have asked for a better experience. Every member of the staff was warm, accommodating, and genuinely excited to help make our stay special. Out of all the hotels from our Spain vacation, this was hands down the best room and overall experience we had.
If you’re visiting Barcelona and want a place that feels welcoming, comfortable, and truly memorable — book this hotel. You will not regret it.

Stayed 3 nights during my trip to Barcelona. Arrived to the hotel earlier than check in, but was able to store my bags in the luggage lockers no problem and explore the city in the meantime. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed. The hotel location was perfect; only a block away from the metro so everything in the city was easily within reach. There are also several shops and restaurants nearby close to the hotel. The breakfast was also excellent. It was an assortment of bread and pastries, cereal, fresh cut fruit and charcuterie. There is also an espresso machine and fresh pressed juice. Enjoying my breakfast on the patio and garden was definitely a highlight of the stay
Rytis Šidlauskas★★★★☆
Stayed there for 3 nights during our vacation in Barcelona. We arrived much earlier than our check-in time but the room was already prepared and we were able to unpack in the room even before lunch.
Hotel is compact, staff is very friendly and happy to help anytime. Room was spacious, with a small kitchen to make anything you wish right there. Beds were comfortable and pretty soft but we got 2 single beds instead of a single large bed which we asked for. Also there was some mold by the ceiling what was not appreciated at all. The hotel itself is pretty quite but we could hear people walking in the corridor and elevator going up and down. The location of the hotel is amazing, very close to main attractions and metro station being just 2 minutes away.
We didn't had breakfast included but once we decided to try it (15 EUR per person). Sadly it was not as expected - no hot food options, only some meat and vegetable slices, croissants and bread to make a sandwich. For that money you can get amazing breakfast anywhere outside the hotel.

We spent 5 wonderful days at this hotel. The staff was incredibly kind and flexible, fulfilling all of our requests immediately.
The location is perfect: it’s very close to the Fontana metro station, and major attractions like the Sagrada Família, Park Güell, and La Rambla are within easy walking distance. The neighborhood is also great, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and a market nearby.
Our room was just the right size, featuring a comfortable bed, a well-equipped kitchenette, and a spacious terrace. On our last day, we were also able to leave our luggage in the hotel’s storage locker which was very convenient.
We would love to come back here again. Thank you for everything!

Overall, the hotel is good. The service is very good, as is the security, and the location is excellent, but there are a few minor points. If you've chosen a garden view room on the first floor and you're a light sleeper, or if you have noisy neighbors, the soundproofing isn't great. The bathroom ventilation wasn't very good, but the air conditioning system is very effective. If you have opted for the continental breakfast, it doesn't start until 8:00 AM, which I think is very late for when you have a busy days. Don't expect an hot breakfast. You'll get croissants, muffins, cereal, few kinds of sliced fruit, cheeses, few kinds of cold cuts, hard-boiled eggs, toasts and a coffee machine.

I had an excellent stay at Casa Nido Hostel Barcelona Diagonal. The location is simply perfect for discovering the real Barcelona - it doesn’t get more central than this. Everything is within easy reach, making it the ideal base for exploring the city on foot and experiencing both the famous attractions and the local atmosphere.
The facilities are completely brand new, modern, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. What impressed me the most were the beds: incredibly cosy, comfortable, and honestly of 5-star hotel quality. After a long day of sightseeing, it was the perfect place to relax and get a great night’s sleep.

Not worth the price (360€/ night during MWC)
- During the night, I found a cockroach in the room (photo attached).
- The hotel layout is not comfortable or even wheelchair-friendly, as you must go through stairs to reach both the café and the reception.
- Upon arrival, the bathroom toiletries were surrounded by water.
- There were visible maintenance issues: damp stains on an unpainted column, loose furniture parts, and dust on top of the wardrobe.
- At breakfast, tables remained uncleared for over an hour and I had to eat at a dirty table.
- The kettle was dirty inside.
- The rooms are extremely noisy; you can hear everything from other rooms.
Overall, a disappointing stay.

Stayed here over New Year’s Eve and the following week and couldn’t have been happier with both the location and the service. My partner and I opted for rooms adjacent to the nightclub next door at a discounted rate and felt it was absolutely worth it. We’re both deep sleepers, so the light background noise wasn’t an issue at all. That said, there are rooms not affected by this, so it’s easy to choose accordingly when booking. We stayed in Room #3. The service was excellent, the location was perfect, and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for more. The downstairs lounge and breakfast area was a standout, an ideal spot for late-night coffee, relaxing, and spending time with my partner and local friends. A fantastic stay from start to finish.

Our stay at this hotel in Barcelona was an absolute delight — far beyond what I expected from a 3-star hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our hopes. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully modern, with a classy, elegant design that made us feel instantly comfortable and at ease.
I must admit I was hesitant at first, having read some negative reviews online - but our experience was different. The staff were genuinely kind and incredibly generous. Not only were they always smiling and helpful, but they also offered us complimentary breakfast even though it wasn’t included in our reservation. On top of that, they welcomed us with a bottle of champagne, which I absolutely loved. Such thoughtful gestures made all the difference.
The breakfast buffet was generous and delicious, offering a lovely balance of sweet and savory options. I especially appreciated the wide selection of teas — almost every flavor imaginable — along with coffee, all available freely.
The room was thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed: shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, a toothbrush, fluffy towels, cozy slippers, and even a hairdryer. There’s also air conditioning, which was a lifesaver during the hot summer days. A spacious wardrobe made it easy to keep our clothes organized, and the room included a fauteuil, a canapé, and a chair — plenty of space to relax in comfort. And the balcony was a beautiful bonus, perfect for enjoying a quiet moment with fresh air.
Another huge plus: the hotel is just a 6-minute walk from a metro station, which connects directly to all the main attractions of Barcelona. Getting around the city was effortless. Additionally, the hotel was situated in a Gràcia neighborhood known for its vibrant street art, offering a peaceful atmosphere with a touch of elegance and charm.
I would 100% book this hotel again for my next visit to Barcelona. It truly felt like a hidden gem — warm, welcoming, and far more than what you’d expect from a 3-star rating. A sincere thank you to the entire team — especially the two lovely receptionists — for making our stay truly special and unforgettable!

Boutique hotel apartments, it's very well located with easy access to public transportation. The surrounding areas have most of the amenities one would need for a visit to Barcelona. The room we had was small and the bathroom required some caution to use. But with a small kitchenette and spacious living room, it is worth the price.

Almost perfect place to stay for our recent trip to Barcelona. We loved the location close to the metro and nice cafes.
Small issues include no stopper so we couldn't use the bath and the mould in the bathroom which can be dangerous if not cleaned.
The staff were friendly and tried to help and the value was amazing.
The size was fantastic value.
I would definitely recommend

Location was near a metro station and some restaurants in the area. It did the job for somewhere to sleep but wouldn't want to stay longer than 2 nights. The couch changes into a second bed which allows the apartment to sleep 3-4 people. There was steps to the reception and inside the apartment there were two small steps between bedroom and bathroom and lounge and kitchen. First night the apartment smelled of raw sewage which wasn't pleasant and tap water had a strange film on it so we drank bottled water. Room had a lot of road noise and air conditioning just seem to blow out warm air but we kept it running to reduce the sound of the road noise. Dark and small bathroom that needs a renovation.

I really like that the room was big enough for short and long term stays. Especially, extra couch helps to relax. There is a metro station nearby and you can walk through the city center by walking like me:) the room was silent and bright. The bathrooms were a little bit old but clean. There was also a kitchen stuffs in the drawers and microwave so it was useful!

Great place.
The room offered master bedroom with kitchen and a table for 4 people. There was also a sofa bed. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom had all the soap and shampoo and shower gel as well as towels. The master bedroom offered a unique design of a sort of slide able translucent window to the living room/ kitchen.
Guy at reception was nice and offered tourist advice.
Train/metro station was nearby as well so good connections.
Also a lot of bakeries nearby with FANTASTIC baguettes.
Overall 5 stars

The bathroom was clean and so was the room. The bed was comfortable enough for the only one night I spent there. Also the place is conveniently situated.
But there were some issues.
First our room was facing the inner courtyard and the noise from the kitchen woke us up at 7am despite being on the 5th floor with the blinds closed
In the morning there was no hot water.
The breakfast also was disappointing. Not much choice (which is not necessarily an issue) and not really good products. For instance the scumbled eggs were very dry and the croissants tasted nothing like one.
When we checkout we asked if we could leave our luggages. In every hotel I visited so far they happily do that. Here they charge you €5 per item! I can understand they charge you if they you are not a customer but even so the price is just a scam.
So overall quite disappointing. I'd not recommend.

The experience me and my team had was truly atrocious and overwhelmingly bad. The rooms where with almost no ac during peak Spanish heat, everything is in poor quality and if you have to fix something the staff will full on ignore you and make you wait multiple day for a simple ac fixing and the fixing in question is someone looking at the ac seeing it not working and tell u it's fine even though it is clearly not. For what is about the food everything is frozen and disgusting with few exceptions that I consider as food that don't make me sad. And for what is about the service we got stolen about 200€ from our room by the staff wich is a lot when one is on a budget and to top it off one of my teammate had bed bugs in his bed and woke up with red dots all over he's body. looking back there is not a single thing that make this hostel stand out or enjoyable.

This has been THE best hostel I have ever been to. You have to take into account that it is a hostel so yes you share a room with people. I was in the women’s rooms and it was absolutely fantastic. The room was very light, clean, a towel to use. It also had a balcony. The breakfast was also very good considering it is not a hotel, even had a wide range of fruit. The price ratio is also very good because the location is fantastic right in the center of Gracia. 10/10!!!

The door is small and the windows opaque, don't be claustrophob.
There is aircon as mentioned but they locked it on hot air to make sure you don't use it, during summer you will die !
The worst is when they asked to see my phone to check the reservation, they secretly used my phone to add 5 stars and type an excellent comment. Don't wonder where their 5 stars notes come from...
At least the hotel is well located.

Great location - the building is beautiful too (I’m running out of adjectives in barcelona). We’ve stayed here before and didn’t think twice about booking again. Their breakfast is very very good and in summer we sat outside watched keenly by several pigeons.

Overall good experience. The location is very good at a centric place, close to major office locations as well as restaurants and bars. The rooms are fair and decent for a company trip, i stayed overnight and had a great experience.

Very disappointing service. The front desk staff were unresponsive and seemed to ignore us when we needed assistance. It made the check-in experience frustrating and left a poor first impression.

Balcony lights don't go off, the bed is made up in very strange layers, but even worse dirty blanket ..
pretty noisy from outside and neighboring rooms,
water very expensive, I paid 130 per night is very expensive for what you get. I left a day early so I could get some sleep at home, the staff promise me to refund 1 day and send me on my way. He forgot to tell me that the policy for canceling is three days in advance, so he forgot that in some kind of strange way ( what I don't believe) and sent me a disappointing email with the 'news' I cannot get my money back.
Yup never again, what a disappointment.

Terrible hotel with the rudest staff. Stay away at all costs

Hi all,
as much as I wanted to give this hotel 4 stars there are a few points which prevents me from doing so.
1st: wifi connectivty
2nd: missing store room
3rd: single plastic packages during breakfast
Beside those points the hotel would've gotten 4 stars.
Here's a bit more detailed view:
Generally
The hotel itself is very good looking and well decorated. Easy to navigate around and find whatever you're searching for. Stairs are a bit small but I never saw anyone use them so being alone, I had plenty of space there.
Sun terrace is nice to have, liked sunbathing there. Gym is small but good enough to get a bit of exercise. The equipment is good in quality and all well cleaned.
Staff was always friendly and could deal with anything quickly.
Despite having highly chlorinated tap water no free bottle water was offered in the rooms. Only at the reception was a water dispenser.
Room:
The interior of the room was nice and of good quality, feels being welcome entering.
Floor was carpeted in the hallways and wooden floor in the rooms, felt good.
The room had only 4 power outlets (if you calculate the one where you have to unplug the desk lamp) and just one per nightstand. No additional USB chargers installed. Too less in my opinion, as I travel with 2 phones and at least one laptop/other electronic device. At least two power outlets per bedside please…
Wifi was good most of the time, most… sometimes I had trouble connecting to the wifi or loading simple sides (not streaming anything) this happened at random times during the day, so not necessarily when everyone was using wifi.
There was only one wardrobe to put clothes in. And it was only for hanging coats etc. The one shelf in there was already filled with an extra blanket and a pillow. Even if I put those somewhere else the room would not be sufficient (and it would've been pretty high). A small cupboard at the desk did also not provide enough space to put all my clothes in there. So I just stored everything on the unused bed. (was there for 8 days)
you might wonder if a glass sink (fully glass except the 4 feet and the tap) is the right choice for material since you can see every scratch that was left by previous visitors or every stain of lime if the furniture was not polished (which it wasnt) but it was one of the best looking sinks I saw in a hotel and it was very functional (like in not to small, you won't splash yourself etc.).
The curtains let only very small lights pass, which allowed me to sleep without any issues plus doing naps in the afternoon. Haven't seen that in many. Still shutters ftw.
There was no option to put towels somewhere so that they won't be replaced even if you want to reuse them. Questionable with water issues in the area. Solved that by not having my room cleaned.
Breakfast:
The breakfast area was very nice to sit in, good ambiente and very comfortable chairs.
the size of the breakfast was ok/good considering the size of the hotel.
Lots of juices with good quality.
The fruits were fresh and very tasty, however unpeeled. Kinda messy to unpeal slices of kiwi to put them in your yoghurt.
Low selection on bread but good quality.
The fried eggs were perfect every morning but the bacon was only good on two days. On the other it was like put out of the pan when halfway done.
Sweet pastries were good, nothing special.
Jam, butter etc. was all packed in small plastic packages, common like 15 years ago. But come on, there are better and more enviroment friendly options around.
Overall I enjoyed the stay and if the negative aspects weren't on so critical topics like enviromental protection or wifi it would have gotten 4 stars from me.
So if those don't matter to you as much as to me, I fully recommend this hotel.
Thanks for reading

For such an affordable hotel the quality you receive is wonderful.
The reception staff are always friendly and ready to help with anything. The taxi arrangement to the airport was smooth and easy, and the taxi driver was very warm and friendly.
They provide a kettle at the reception with free tea and apples, and there's a coffee machine and fridge with water and drinks for very affordable prices.
The room is very clean and tidy, and they clean it everyday! That was surprising, it was delightful to see, very grateful for that service. The bed is massive and comfortable. The shower is great, water pressure is high, and immediate access to boiling hot to freezing water and everything in between 🙂
Also the hair dryer was one of the better ones!
Since the bed is so big there isn't much space otherwise in the room, but there are two nightstands, a mini desk, and a mini closet with hangers. No fridge or kettle in the room.
The air conditioning works well, but the one in my room had a bit of a rattle noise.
The location is 20 min close to the Sagrada Familia, and to the park. Plenty of grocery shops around, a decent coffee in the morning is 10 min walking, and within 15min you can get to cozy brunch places and the metro station.

we loved our stay here! really great location, you can easily access the more touristy destinations, but it’s also in a good spot where you can avoid it on days you want a more chill, local vibe. room was clean and had what we needed. all the staff at the front desk were kind and helpful. Malik always made us laugh when we entered or left. our stay here gave us exactly what we needed and we would definitely come back 🙂

Great place to stay, 20m walk from the La Segrada Familia and a Corgi cafe!
A downstairs areas for groups to hang out and play cards. It was great for my group of friends to hang out all together as we had different rooms.
Vending machine with refreshments in the hall. No coffee in the rooms, that's the only thing I would change. Shower was great and the staff were very nice to deal with.

We really liked our stay at this hotel. We spent 4 nights here; it is located in a quite neighbourhood, close to public transportation (we took the bus more oftenly), the staff is friendly and we had the room cleaned every day.
The price is good for Barcelone and for the location; you could also walk to the turistic atractions (~25 minutes to Sagrada Familia and Park Guel).
The only thing that was missing was a small fridge in the rooms that is very much needed during warm season.
Hara Pappa★★★★★
Excellent location, with easy access to all the main attractions and public transport. The staff were always friendly, welcoming, and willing to help with anything we needed, making our stay even more enjoyable.
The only small improvement I would suggest is adding a mini fridge to the rooms, as it would be very convenient, especially during the summer.
Overall, we had a great experience and would happily stay here again!
Practical Tips for Visiting Casa Vicens and Staying Nearby
Planning your stay around a visit to Casa Vicens requires a bit of local insight. The neighborhood operates on a rhythm that is different from the busy city center, and understanding this will save you time and money. Here are some essential tips to ensure your visit to the monument and your stay in Gràcia are as smooth as possible.
Book your Casa Vicens tickets in advance. Even though this site is less crowded than Gaudí’s later works, entry slots can fill up during peak season. Booking online allows you to choose a morning slot when the natural light best illuminates the building’s intricate tile work and the gardens are at their quietest.
Use the Fontana metro exit strategically. When arriving by metro, the Fontana station on the L3 line places you on Carrer Gran de Gràcia. This street is a hub for local bakeries and cafes. Stop for a quick breakfast here before walking the five minutes to the monument, as options directly beside the entrance are limited and more expensive.
Explore the side streets, not just the main road. Many visitors walk straight up Carrer Gran de Gràcia and miss the hidden squares like Plaça del Diamant or Plaça de la Virreina. These squares are perfect for a mid-day coffee or a glass of cava and offer a glimpse into the neighborhood’s strong community identity.
Check if your hotel offers a "Gaudí package." Some of the boutique hotels in the area partner with local cultural institutions. They may offer discounted tickets, late checkout to accommodate your visit, or even guided walking tours that connect Casa Vicens with the less famous Modernist buildings scattered around Gràcia.
Plan your visit around the weather. Casa Vicens features a stunning rooftop and a garden that are integral to the experience. If rain is forecast, try to reschedule your ticket. The colors of the building are far more vibrant under the Mediterranean sun, and the outdoor spaces are a significant part of the tour’s appeal.
Dine late to avoid the crowds. If you are staying in a hotel on a busy street like Carrer Gran de Gràcia, you may notice that restaurants fill up quickly with locals around 9:00 PM. If you prefer a quieter dinner, eat early at 7:30 PM, or embrace the local culture and join the rush—just be sure to make a reservation at the more popular spots.
Choosing to stay near Casa Vicens means you are choosing a side of Barcelona that many tourists never see. You trade the instant gratification of stepping out onto a busy tourist avenue for the slow burn of discovering a neighborhood that feels like a small town within a big city. It is a trade that rewards the curious traveler.
After a day spent admiring the intricate trencadís of Casa Vicens and wandering the bohemian streets of Gràcia, you will understand why Gaudí found this area so inspiring. Returning to a well-chosen hotel nearby allows you to hold onto that inspiration a little longer, without the stress of a long commute or the noise of the city center. It is, quite simply, a smarter way to experience Barcelona.
