Staying in Colmar with my wife and two girls (15&12) and stumbled on this place after a quick Google map search.
Was absolutely amazing. The meze platter was a must. Me and the girls had donor, chips and salad and my wife had the Kofte. We all said how lovely it was. We sat outside in the sunshine and had a brilliant evening.

Great meal at Delicossa in Colmar! The portion was generous and very filling. The meat was tender, topped with a creamy, flavorful sauce, and paired nicely with seasoned grains and grilled veggies.
Casual atmosphere and decent service. Definitely good value for a satisfying meal.

Very tasty food and cocktails.
We had the Thyme Chicken with fries and salad, and Perlina cocktail.
The thyme sauce on the chicken was very tasty and tender chicken.
There are a few outside tables and also inside tables with some fans.
Nice 👍

Samheran is one of those rare spots that gets everything right. From the food to the drinks to the atmosphere. It’s stylish without being pretentious, and every detail feels thoughtfully executed.
The Food: A Chef’s Special Worth Celebrating
I went for the Plat du Chef, and it great. Packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and served in a generous portion, it’s the kind of dish that makes you glad you ordered it. The Katmar dessert was the ideal sweet finish. Light, delicious, and just indulgent enough.
The Drinks: Cocktails That Shine
The Coco Matcha and Samheran cocktails were absolute highlights. Creative, balanced, and genuinely delicious, they proved that the bar program here is just as impressive as the kitchen.
The Vibe: Modern Yet Inviting
The interior strikes the perfect balance Elegant and contemporary, but still warm and welcoming. It’s a space that makes you want to settle in and enjoy the evening.
The Service: Attentive and Friendly
The staff were engaging and professional, ensuring the meal felt seamless and enjoyable.

I liked the cheese cake. The food was also good. However they need to be innovative with their sauces on different dishes. We ordered two different dishes but the sauce was the same for both so they tasted the same. Overall Great.

We had a very good time in ortam Grill. The Pide and Yoğurtlu Kebap was so good.
The service was super nice and very friendly.

We were staying at a nearby hotel on a drive over from Italy to the UK and saw that this place was nearby so thought we’d give it a try. We were so glad we did!
It was busy when we arrived full of families who looked like they were having a great time which is always a good sign. The menu is extensive with lots of authentic choices and we were very gratefully guided by the staff who helped us make some excellent choices. The food here is superb; so tasty, well cooked and generous portions. We had the mixed mezze to start which was so good; each element of the mezze platter was a taste sensation. We then both tried some of the grilled meats for our mains which were perfectly cooked and really really tasty. As a non drinker myself I appreciated the fact that they don’t serve alcohol here too.
We were made to feel really welcome and had a lovely evening; our only regret is that we were too tired after a seven hour driving day to take up the very kind offer of Turkish tea at the end of our meal.
Danielle Smith★★★★★
Amazing fresh traditional Turkish food. Everything was wonderful with very friendly service. 100% would recommend

Very good food, atmosphere and service. The waiters are very careful and helpful. The restaurant is a bit far, so best to get there by car but at least no issues with the parking and totally worth it. The design of the restaurant is pretty interesting.
We were served a starter on the house, which was very kind. Even though we didn’t have a reservation, they tried to do their best and found us a nice table straightaway despite it being full.
Would go back!

We visited Colmar for a day and looking for Halal food and found this Turkish restaurant with 4.7 stars. The restaurant vibes feels like home, the food is fresh and yes they make the food right after you order. Food is tasty, the owner and the daughter is friendly. We ordered Spinach Pide, Suçuk, Lahmacun, and Mixed Platter as well. They gave us Baklava as a complimentary and my husband love it so much. And they made their Baklava in the menu by themselves.

Pretty place with extremely tasty food. Had the stuffed eggplant and the appetizer with bread, tomato and meat (it was lamb). Both very good but especially the eggplant. Topped the night off with the yoghurt with raspberry coulis, which was superb. Would very much recommend if you’re a little tired of Western European food. Only downside is the food takes a bit of time to come out, but it’s worth it.

We had such a great experience here that we came back for a second night in a row! The atmosphere inside is warm, authentic, and very welcoming. The owner, Mr. Talat, personally makes sure everything runs smoothly, and his attention to detail truly elevates the service.
The food was absolutely delicious, with generous, satisfying portions. Most of the customers were French, and everyone seemed relaxed, as if they were dining at a family gathering — which says a lot about the ambiance.
We especially loved the cacık and stuffed vine leaves as starters. Our favorite main dishes were the sac kavurma, chicken skewers, and lahmacun. Although they don’t serve rakı by the bottle, the glasses are poured generously — practically a double — and it was more than enough to enjoy.
Four of us ate until we were completely full, shared almost a full bottle’s worth of Beylerbeyi Göbek Rakı, and paid just around €100.
The food, the portions, the service — everything was so satisfying that we had to return the next night.
And most importantly — seeing Atatürk’s portraits proudly displayed on the wall made us feel right at home. No doubt where we stand. ❤️

Tips for Choosing a Halal Restaurant in Colmar
Finding a truly Halal restaurant requires a bit more diligence than just looking for a sign in the window. To ensure your dining experience aligns with your dietary needs and expectations, consider these practical tips before you sit down to eat. These guidelines will help you distinguish between genuinely certified or community-trusted spots and standard tourist traps.
Verify the Certification or Ask Directly
While many restaurants in Colmar advertise Halal meat, it is always wise to ask about the source of their supply. A reputable establishment will be transparent about where they purchase their meat and will often have a certificate on display. Don’t be shy about asking the staff; a genuine Halal restaurant expects this question and will answer with confidence.
Look for Community Favorites
The best validation of a Halal restaurant is often the local Muslim community. If you see a steady stream of local families dining in, especially during Friday prayers or Ramadan, it is a strong indicator of trust. Restaurants that are busy with local residents rather than just tourists are usually maintaining high standards of both food quality and religious compliance.
Check the Menu for Alcohol Service
In France, it is common for restaurants to serve wine, but strict Halal dining often avoids establishments where alcohol is the primary focus. While many Halal restaurants in Colmar are entirely alcohol-free, some may offer it to cater to a wider audience. If this is a concern for you, check the menu online or call ahead to ask if the establishment is "dry" (no alcohol).
Explore Beyond the City Center
While there are excellent options near the historic center, venturing slightly outside the main tourist zones can lead you to more authentic and affordable meals. Restaurants located on the outskirts or in residential areas often cater specifically to the local population, which means they rely heavily on their reputation for authenticity and adherence to Halal standards.
Consider the Type of Cuisine
Different cultures have different standards for Halal. Middle Eastern, Turkish, and North African restaurants are often the safest bets as the owners usually share the same dietary requirements. However, don’t discount South Asian or even French-style burger joints that have pivoted to Halal meat; just ensure you do your due diligence regarding their supply chain.
Exploring the Halal food scene in Colmar offers a unique way to experience the city’s cultural diversity. While the town is steeped in Alsatian history, the influence of international cuisine has added a vibrant layer to its identity. By choosing these restaurants, you are not just eating; you are participating in a global community right in the heart of France.
Whether you are craving the char-grilled flavor of a kebab after a long day of walking or the slow-cooked comfort of a lamb tagine, Colmar has you covered. We hope this guide helps you find your new favorite meal in this picturesque city. Enjoy your culinary journey through Colmar, and bon appétit!
