After a morning spent wandering through the botanical gardens, rowing a boat across the Plaza de América ponds, or simply admiring the shaded promenades of Parque de María Luisa, there is nothing quite as rewarding as finding a comfortable spot for a refreshing drink or a well-earned meal.
Seville’s most famous green space is a lush oasis away from the heat of the Andalusian sun, but it is surrounded by a vibrant culinary scene that often gets overlooked by tourists rushing towards the Plaza de España.
Whether you are looking for a traditional Spanish breakfast of toasted bread and tomato, a specialty coffee to fuel your sightseeing, or a quiet terrace to rest your legs, the neighborhoods bordering the park offer a surprising variety of options.
From the historic streets of El Porvenir to the bustling avenues near the University of Seville, the area is packed with both time-honored institutions and modern, trendy spaces.
Finding the right café here requires a bit of local knowledge, as the quality can vary wildly between the tourist traps on the main roads and the authentic gems tucked away on side streets.
To help you navigate the area, I have put together a guide that focuses on quality, atmosphere, and authenticity, ensuring you get a true taste of Sevillian hospitality rather than just a generic cup of coffee.
These selections prioritize locations that offer a genuine connection to the local culture, whether through their architecture, their baking, or their role as a community gathering spot.

Looking for an independent coffee shop in Seville whilst on our walk there aren’t actually that many coffee shops. Googled and came across here, what a little gem of a find! Perfect cold coffee made to perfection - ingredients even weighed out! Only a couple of seats inside but I think many city people use it to have coffee on the go.

Stylish little coffee shop with fun décor and a relaxed feel. The setup is serious, with quality equipment behind the bar and a friendly barista who clearly knows what they’re doing. I had a double espresso for €3 which came with stunning crema and a very balanced flavour. A great quick stop for proper coffee in Seville. I’ll definitely return
Jayr the explorer★★★★★
Love their coffee.. offered filtered and espresso coffee beans.. went twice to grab their delicious latte.. they roast their own beans too… downside is not much seating area…
Laura Viana-Gardner★★★★★
I have tried a Cold Coconut Matcha and an Oat Matcha with oat milk and vanilla syrup. Both so creamy and absolutely DELICIOUS! It is clear the matcha is high quality and the woman that served me here was so meticulous in crafting the coffees and matchas, putting so much effort and thought into them. Couldn’t ask for much more from a coffee shop 😍 - you can also buy matcha power, coffee beans and much more separately!
Roya Shahrabi★★★★★
We grabbed a coffee with friends yesterday while walking through the touristic streets of Seville and decided to try this place. The barista was very professional, with his own special method of preparing coffee, and he was such a nice person. The coffee was excellent — as were the cookies, the drinks, and the decoration. Everything was really nice and pleasant.

Lovely cafe close the Seville Cathedral. Thank you Inez for a wonderful service. She is welcoming, warm & gives good recommendations for what to order. Tasty coffee, açai bowl & bagel sandwiches. Banana bread and cinnamon rolls were a little dry, but yummy too! Highly recommended.

Exceptional coffee and cakes - especially if your an early bird, the Jester opens at 8am!
Vegan brownie was fantastic and it was gluten free which I was genuinely suprised how nice it was. My partner had the carrot cake and loved it!
Take away service was great.

Very tasty breakfast and lunch! The selection is extensive and it is difficult to choose from all that deliciousness.
Small terrace, but definitely worth a visit! It is very popular and therefore busy.
Service was very quick and the staff was friendly!

LATE it is a coffee bar located not far away by alameda de hercules. The location it is tiny, fashionable and nice. The interior it is designed followed the minimalistic and freshly new yorker coffee bar style. The coffee it is well made it and one of the best tried in Sevilla. The service side sadly it is the least convincing part based on my experience. I can describe the service that I experienced like a little bit unfriendly and détachée. The Late’s it is a nice coffee bar but although If the service side was not satisfied I consider the LATE’s coffee bar a good place where to do a breakfast or a quick coffee break.
Christian Breitkreutz★★★★★
A cool coffee shop serving sandwiches and pastries, with solid coffee to match. It also works well as a spot to get some work done.
The vibe is very hip and youthful, with a mix of locals and tourists. Staff felt a bit moody at times - though it might just be part of the place’s character.
Lea Sellam★★★★★
Good coffee places ! Recommend!
WIFI 🛜 which is very rare in Spain in restaurants/ cafes . I love the cafe the carrot 🥕 cake was dry . The coffee is lovely
Anna Yanaeva★★★★★
As a coffee lover, checked out dozens of places around Sevilla and this is by far the best. It checks all the boxes: coffee is amazing, smooth and creamy. Food is great for a satisfying breakfast/brunch (jamon sandwich is to die for, avocado&feta is fresh and a great combo with fried almonds, chocolate cookie is not overly sweet and very flavorful).
Last but not least: service is very friendly and efficient. It is a fairly small place, but I never had a problem finding a spot. Tables are cleaned in between guests (which is not always the case on other places). 10/10.

I had the pleasure of enjoying some delightful specialty coffee in Seville! The location was simply perfect, just a short 3-minute stroll from my hotel. The service was impressively quick, and I found the prices to be quite reasonable. I must say, the iced latte was absolutely delicious!

This was a great place for breakfast/brunch. The fruit with yogurt stood out because of the quality of the fruit they put in it. The also offered a good English breakfast that my son had and enjoyed. The service was quick and we loved the outdoor seating. They had some indoor seating as well but we opted to sit outside.

I enjoyed my breakfast here. Their Turkish eggs were great, and the ambience is really nice. This place doesn't appear to be overhyped or crowded like many other brunch spots I recommended over many other popular brunch spots around town.

If i could give cafe otto 10 stars, I would. All the cakes we tried (brownie, two kinds of cheesecakes) were one of the best we’ve ever had. Amazing savoury croissant. Came back multiple times, it was so great. The waiter (owner?) was super kind and helpful.

Cutest little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Menu had good options for those who can’t eat meat and had nice sweet treats too. The iced caramel latte was gorgeous. Our server was very helpful and polite also!

Stopped by for an iced coffee and a croissant and both were absolutely delicious! There are even flavors for the coffee, I got an iced pistachio latte 😋. Overall, this is a super cute coffee shop in the heart of Sevilla and the owner was very nice.

Good coffee shop. They didn’t have croissants that morning unfortunately. And they served the coffee in a to go cup although I was drinking it at premise.

We've been trying every specialty coffee place we've walked by in Seville that smells good. This place smelt great, has the interesting beans and delivered the great taste we've been looking for. I had an espresso macchiato with Nicaraguan beans and my wife had a decaf flat white with Colombian beans. Good flavors and length on the decaf. The macchiato was excellent with great acidity and spiciness and a strong body. Definitely coming back!
林家慧(Chia Huei)★★★★★
The first time we came to this café, was a lot of people waiting in line and it seemed not enough seats, so we left.
However, the awesome smell of coffee made us want to come back again, we must at least try once, no? We did! And it didn’t let us down.
The cappuccino and latte were awesome and with enough caffeine :p (some café in Sevilla barely put enough coffee inside) , the cookies were also tasty and not too sweet.
It seemed only had the owner himself to attend the clients, we were lucky to came a bit earlier to avoid the crowds.
The general experience was nice, a bit pricey but not not affordable. Highly recommended!
Omar Karmustaji★★★★★
A great café with excellent coffee roasted in-house. Their pastries are delicious—especially the croissant—and their cortado is outstanding. Highly recommended!

Manuel was the sweetest, great service and it had such a perfect range of food options. Plenty to make a vegetarian feel like they have choices, and even a vegan option. They had many large sandwiches for such a good price, or more expensive meals if you want steak. So lovely.

absolutely loved COFFEE & BRUNCH PIKISLABIS in Sevilla! This place is a vibe—laid-back, cool, and effortlessly stylish without trying too hard. The coffee? Bold, smooth, and exactly how I like it. The kind that makes you pause mid-sip and go, “Yep, they know what they’re doing.”
The brunch menu was solid—everything fresh, flavorful, and plated like they actually care. I had one of those moments where I mentally added this place to my “always come back” list before I even finished eating.
If you're in Sevilla and even mildly into good coffee and chill brunches, this spot is a must. Trust me, PIKISLABIS gets it right.

Charming place with a very nice vibe. The owners are welcoming and always smiling. The bun was very tasty and crispy, and it paired well with the eggs and bacon. I can't give it more than 5 stars. Let's ignore the fact that the place is painted my favorite color, the service is top-notch, the coffee is amazing, the place is super clean, cozy, bohemian with an intimate feel, super pretty and well-maintained. A coffee cost me 1.70, which is incredibly cheap compared to other places. The way they serve it and the fact that you can enjoy something delicious in a cozy space makes me want to come back because it's already my favorite coffee shop downtown.

A lovely café away from the crowds, offering a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
They have simple yet enjoyable breakfast options, and the service is excellent.
The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is that the coffee could be improved, especially in terms of the beans they use.

Absolutely lovely experience! The breakfast was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We enjoyed delicious sandwiches paired with perfectly made cappuccinos — all at very reasonable prices. The service was also excellent; friendly, attentive staff made the morning even more pleasant. The cozy atmosphere and variety of pastries, including freshly baked croissants, made this place a perfect spot to start the day. Highly recommended for a peaceful and tasty breakfast!

Big disappointment.. walked quite a bit to get there.. and although wonderful people it hurts me to say i have had one of the worst coffee experiences, twice, second was even worse.. and food was below mediocre, not even fitting the description of the food in the menu and poor side choice.. in a patio of a commercial looking building, so although you can sit in a terrace there is nothing and no one to look around..

Superb breakfast with wide range of local options - the salmon bagel was delicious and the gourmet toast with pork and aged cheese amazing. Great coffee and staff very good. Use Google Maps to find the place as it’s inside a hidden square/plaza.

This coffee shop was on my radar being so highly rated but because of its limited open timings it was a struggle to get coffee but it sure paid off when I managed to try the coffee. Nestled on the streets beside the setas you can sit on a bench, bask in the sun and try this complex, deep flavoured that somehow wasn't bitter even without any sweetener ( I usually have coffee with sweetener). Top coffee experiences in Spain for me.
Kim Mendoza★★★★☆
Little coffee shop with lots of character! You can see in the details and interiors of the shop.
Excellent service as well. The barista was very helpful and warm when we asked about the beans and items in the menu.
We also enjoyed the coffee. Tried both iced latte Regina and espresso tonic which were both flavorful. I would’ve given it 5 stars if there were pastries. But overall, a must try!!

We had a wonderful breakfast experience at La Mala Brunch! We customized their Eggs Benedict toast by asking them to remove the bacon, and it was absolutely amazing with its sauce and bread. The pistachio cream croissant was also really good. Based on the reviews, we ordered the mascarpone pancake, and it was delicious too. In short, no matter what you order here, it is truly flavorful. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and solution-oriented. A fantastic breakfast spot in Seville that I highly recommend without hesitation!

Excellent brunch at La Mala Brunch!
We had several breakfasts there during our stay and everything was absolutely perfect. The place is modern and pleasant, although it can get a bit noisy during busy hours, which also shows how popular the restaurant is.
The menu is very varied, with both indulgent and healthy options: pancakes, bagels, bowls, brunch burgers, fresh smoothies… it’s hard to choose because everything looks delicious.
The products are fresh, beautifully presented, and the portions are generous.
A real favorite in Seville, both for the quality of the food and the atmosphere. This place truly deserves its excellent Google rating. We would definitely recommend it and gladly come back!

During my stay in Seville, this hidden gem was right in front of the apartment we rented. Without a doubt, the best calentitos in Seville...and I've tried them in many different places! Plus, the staff is incredibly friendly, efficient, and very professional. In my new neighborhood, Marqués de Pickman/Ciudad Jardín, whenever I can, I have breakfast at Cafetería Luisa: ham toast with coffee and delicious fresh juice...and always with some churros! I often order takeout so I can enjoy some good calentitos at home. 100% recommended, don't miss them!

I've been several times for breakfast and afternoon tea. The churros are some of the best I've ever had (they also have them with fries). The coffee and hot chocolate are simply amazing. Tips for Choosing a Café Near the Park
To truly enjoy the café culture around Parque de María Luisa, it helps to understand how the locals approach their coffee breaks and dining schedules. The rhythm of the day in Seville is specific, and aligning your visit with these habits will significantly improve your experience. Here is what you need to know before you choose your spot.
-
Understand the "Tostada" Morning Ritual: For Sevillanos, breakfast is rarely a heavy meal. The standard order is a "media" (half) or "completa" (full) toasted mollete or baguette, drizzled with olive oil and crushed tomato, or topped with Iberian ham. If you want to eat like a local, skip the pastries in the morning and order a "tostada con aceite y tomate" with a "café con leche."
-
Be Aware of the Terrace Pricing: In Spain, it is common practice for cafés to charge a supplement for sitting on the terrace compared to standing at the bar. This is not a scam; it is a standard service charge. If you are on a budget but want the atmosphere, check the menu or ask for "la carta" to see the "terraza" prices versus "barra" prices before you sit down.
-
Time Your Visit to Avoid the Rush: If you want a quiet, relaxing break, avoid the hours between 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM, as this is when the local workforce takes their mid-morning coffee break, and bars become crowded and noisy. Late afternoon, around 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, is generally quieter and perfect for a merienda (afternoon snack) before dinner.
-
Ask for the "Especialidad" in Coffee: While traditional Spanish coffee (torrefacto) can be bitter and is an acquired taste, many modern cafés near the park now roast their own beans or source specialty blends. If you are a coffee enthusiast, look for signs that say "Café de Especialidad" or ask if they have a "café de origen" (single-origin coffee) for a higher quality cup.
-
Don’t Skip the "Dulces" in the Afternoon: While mornings are for toast, the late afternoon is the time for sweets. Look for traditional Andalusian pastries like "piononos," "pestiños," or a slice of "tarta de Santiago." Pairing one of these with a "manzanilla" tea or a small "cortado" is the perfect way to rest your feet after walking the park’s many paths.
Exploring the area around Parque de María Luisa offers more than just a caffeine fix; it provides a window into the daily life of Seville. The gentle clinking of glasses, the murmur of conversation under the orange trees, and the aroma of freshly baked bread create a sensory experience that complements the natural beauty of the park itself.
Whether you choose a historic café that has served generations of students or a modern minimalist space focusing on artisan coffee, taking the time to sit and soak in the atmosphere is an essential part of the Sevillian experience. So, after you have admired the tiles of the Plaza de España, step just a block or two away from the tourist flow and discover the authentic flavors that make this neighborhood so special.
