Saint-Tropez may be globally synonymous with glitzy beach clubs, superyachts, and rosé-fueled afternoons, but the culinary heartbeat of this iconic Riviera town extends far beyond Provençal bistros and seafood terraces. In recent years, the dining scene has evolved dramatically, embracing global flavors that offer a welcome contrast to the traditional Niçoise salad and bouillabaisse.
For travelers who love the energy of the Côte d’Azur but crave the complex umami of sushi, the aromatic heat of Thai curries, or the comforting richness of Chinese dumplings, the town delivers surprisingly well. Asian gastronomy has found a luxurious home here, blending seamlessly with the village’s glamorous yet laid-back atmosphere.
The best Asian restaurants in Saint-Tropez are characterized by their commitment to premium ingredients, often incorporating local Mediterranean seafood into classic Eastern preparations. Whether you are looking for a romantic dinner after a day at Pampelonne Beach or a lively spot for shared plates before hitting the nightclubs, there is an option to satisfy your palate.
However, navigating the dining landscape in a town known for high prices and tourist traps requires insider knowledge. You want to ensure that the quality of the fish rivals the view and that the spice levels are authentic rather than diluted for a generic palate.
To help you dine like a local connoisseur, we have curated a list of the most exceptional venues currently operating in the area. From hidden gems tucked away in the old port’s cobblestone alleys to chic establishments with panoramic sea views, these restaurants represent the pinnacle of Asian cuisine in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
Below, you will find our definitive guide to the 12 best Asian restaurants in Saint-Tropez, followed by essential tips to enhance your dining experience in this exclusive French destination.

What a great restaurant to eat! The staff was super friendly and if you are a big eater the pad thai is one of the top choices for you (careful its spicy!)

Lovely setting in an unexpected place. The owners are very nice & the food was exceptional.
The duck was not as good as the seafood. The prices are very fair & the wine choices were good.
Recommended for a casual lunch or dinner

We had dinner here one evening as a couple, and it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had, possibly the best of all.
The food was absolutely outstanding: beautifully presented, full of flavor, and the menu offered an excellent variety of choices. The setting is breathtaking, with a magnificent view, and the service was truly impeccable from beginning to end.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff, who even surprised me with a little bouquet of flowers as we were leaving the hotel. Such a thoughtful gesture made an already unforgettable evening even more special.
The only minor downside was that, since the restaurant is surrounded by a beautiful garden full of flowers, there were a few bees flying around. Some guests were understandably a little nervous, but the staff handled the situation immediately by lighting coffee grounds to gently keep the bees away and using a racket when needed. Their attentiveness and professionalism were impressive.
Every detail of this place is carefully curated, making it truly exceptional. We can’t wait to come back the next time we’re in the French Riviera. Thank you for turning a peaceful dinner into such a romantic and memorable experience.

Each destination has its own unique identity, yet they all reflect the same uncompromising standards of excellence, refined hospitality, exquisite cuisine, and timeless elegance. No matter where I go, the experience is always memorable, making me look forward to the next one with even greater anticipation

Absolutely one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Matsuhisa St. Tropez exceeded every expectation—from the outstanding food and beautiful atmosphere to the exceptional service.
A special thank you to the reception team, who were incredibly welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful from the moment we arrived. They made us feel valued and ensured everything was perfect throughout our visit.
Every dish was outstanding, the quality was exceptional, and the overall experience was simply unforgettable. Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Highly recommended, and I can’t wait to come back!

The service was absolutely terrible! The food was awful. The atmosphere was good, but the waiting time for the food was 2 hours, the beverages came after 40 minutes. The waiters were not polite. It was such a chaos… for this price I would say do not come!!!!!!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt like this experience deserved one. We came this Saturday with my wife and our two children to celebrate our oldest son’s birthday, and we were seated on the restaurant terrace.
The food was absolutely delicious, and we were very well guided by a server with long hair and glasses who gave us great recommendations. The service was truly exceptional and made the whole evening special. From the thoughtful little touches like bringing blankets outside, to kindly changing my daughter’s dish when she accidentally mixed up sushi and maki, everything was handled with care and professionalism.
To top it all off, at the very last minute I mentioned that it was my son’s birthday, and the server organized a fun little celebration with a tiger mascot for him. It really made his day unforgettable.
Everything was perfect from start to finish — we will definitely come back!
Ana Benedik★★★★☆
A beautiful setting and a wonderful atmosphere for a wedding welcome party. The terrace, the views, and the overall ambiance were absolutely stunning.
The food (sushi) was delicious and everything was very clean and well presented. The service during the event was great, and it made for a truly memorable evening.
The breakfast was generally very good as well, although one morning it felt a little below the standard of the rest of the experience. There was some fruit that didn’t seem fresh, and it looked like only one staff member was handling the breakfast service, which became difficult when many guests arrived at the same time.
That said, this was only a small detail in an otherwise lovely experience. Overall, a beautiful venue, excellent food, and an atmosphere that made our stay very special. Highly recommended. ✨🍣🥂🌴

This is the best sushi I have had. I was visiting for the day and stumbled across this little restaurant. The staff were accommodating and really friendly. I wasn’t expecting much for a small hole in the wall, but the sushi was amazing! Highly recommend eating here. The prices are reasonable and affordable for good quality food.
Penelope Narboni★★★★★
Amazing sushi!! Super friendly staff and fish were amazing quality. You really get amazing quality and quantity for the price, very worth it. They turn into smash burgers at 12am and is the only one in Saint Tropez. Try it out 100% if you’re near, will definitely be back!

The best late night food if you want to eat something Asian and good at the same time. The food is amazing, quick and simple. Can't ask for more for such a small restaurant with a little outdoor area seating and a very friendly service.
Sandra Brikho★★★★★
Found this spot searching for Asian food on Google as we needed a break from Italian and French food. The owner was super friendly. The food was so good. The poke bowl was amazing. We also ordered yakisoba and a few rolls. All were good. There are only a few tables outdoor so it’s not much of an ambiance, but it’s great for a quick, casual meal. Would come again!
Turki Al-Dhfayan★☆☆☆☆
Very rude and unprofessional service. We waited for someone to take our order, but no one came. When we finally got up to leave and explained that we had been waiting, the staff member dismissively replied, “Alright, goodbye.” This is no way to treat customers. Basic courtesy and respect should be the bare minimum. A very disappointing experience.

In a small plaza with a few other restaurants. I ordered online ahead of time and it took longer than estimated but the staff is very nice and it is worth the wait! I got a few rolls and a salad and everything was delicious. The quality is very good as well. They have outdoor seating and limited parking also.

Very easy to order online, food was ready at the right time and the staff were friendly. The food was super, the little details like a branded napkin and soy sauce included made the takeaway feel luxury!

Great sushi on the way back from Pamppelone beach. You should try the Lobster & Foie Gras sushi.

The place has a variety of dishes, thai wok, sushi and others. The kids menu is quite good too.
Ideal to have a meal with an Asian beer

Good sushis ans sashimis. A bit over priced but this is Saint Tropez. When you take one set with a drink you reach easily 30 Euros. Thus is why I did not give a fourth stars. You have various choice. This is not a restaurant but a take away with few chairs on parking lot near the main street to Saint Tropez. I will recommend if you want to eat fast and avoid Mc Donalds. It will fill your stomach with good think. You can find better and cheaper around if you have time. If not try pain bagnat.

Honestly my favourite restaurant in St Tropez. The waiters and hosts are very friendly and accomodating. The food is insanely good and you get more for what you pay for when compared to other restaurants around here.
Our waitress was super kind towards us. She even gave us a better table outside without having to request a table change. Overall a great experience!
Lena van der Giet★★★★★
Unfortunately, we didn't make a reservation in time, so we didn't get any of the four outdoor seats for two in the beautiful alley, which is a real plus in addition to the great food. I have symptomatic celiac disease and have to eat a gluten-free diet. That was possible here without any problems. There is an allergy menu and the waiters are well informed. I ate a super delicious starter nem pork, which was my absolute highlight. The pad thai was also delicious, but I would order a curry next time. No symptoms, even though I'm very sensitive. The crab chips are also gluten free. we'd love to come back.
Sefa Cevik★☆☆☆☆
I recently dined at Banh-Hoi in St. Tropez, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected. After booking our reservation a month in advance and providing credit card authorization, my wife and I anticipated a pleasant evening in a prime spot within the restaurant.
To our dismay, upon arrival, we were seated at the far end of the establishment, in an area that felt disconnected from the main dining experience. Despite there being available tables in more central and appealing parts of the restaurant, we were not offered the option to sit there. It became evident that the more desirable tables were reserved for younger patrons, specifically young women, which was disheartening and discriminatory.
Adding to the discomfort, we were seated on different kinds of chairs than the rest of the diners, which only highlighted the disparity in treatment. This felt almost like discrimination, making us feel unwelcome and undervalued as guests.
The staff's prioritization of certain guests over others based on appearance was not only unfair but also left a sour taste in our mouths. It was clear that our advance planning and anticipation were not valued.
Given the prestigious reputation and the expectations we had, this experience was a major letdown. For a restaurant of Banh-Hoi's caliber, such treatment is unacceptable. I hope the management reevaluates their seating policies and ensures all guests are treated with the same level of respect and consideration in the future.
Herman van Alkemade★★★★☆
Great atmosphere, good service, very charming, some dishes are good but such a pity they don't hire a good thai cook.
Katie Poole★★★★★
Superb Restaurant in a quaint little street lined with tables, plants and lanterns. 💛 We were lucky to get a table without a reservation as we arrived just as the restaurant was opening and so glad we did. The food was great, the atmosphere was so nice and the staff were friendly. They had a few delicious vegetarian options and im sure it could also be made vegan if you ask. We ate the Pad Thai and can really recommend it.👌🏼
The tables are quite close together so it is a little cosy with other guests but this was not a problem for us. As the street is so pretty, lots of people were taking photos.
Would return in a heartbeat next time we are in St Tropez (but make a reservation!!) ✨

Oh, much better than expected. Authentic Thai cuisine served by locals. Delightful modern if cramped tables. Good service and atmosphere. Dined on pad Thai, curry chicken. Tom yum soup, pineapple fried rice. Super zesty, deep, rich flavors throughout. Recommend!

Every single dish was absolutely incredible.
You have to start with the calamari. It was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while. It’s not your typical calamari. It’s not fried, but such a banger with so much flavor.
I ordered the chicken coconut soup. It was 10/10 so much flavor and I believe there was lemongrass in it which made it yummy.
My friend ordered the fish dish and loved it. It was recommended by the restaurant.
Afterwards they gave us lollipops and a strawberry shot! Along with scented hand wipes!
Music and give was 10/10 great price for dinner in St Tropez compared to the big places near the water

An absolute gem in Saint-Tropez! The vibe here is wonderful, and the food is outstanding - the satay skewers, pad thai, and squid were all delicious. The food was good, we enjoyed it a lot. The place has a wide variety of options, all very abundant. We were a bit disappointed that the anana in the recipes was canned (not fresh) but I guess most places do it like this? Other than that the portions are really generous, nice attention, and great ambiance. We’ve already been there twice so, we recommend!
They have a terrace and a nice inside a/c space. Also non alcoholic beverages and prices are reasonable.
Evelyn Sabbag★★★★★
Cool restaurant with koi under your feet as you walk in the restaurant. We ordered the appetizer sampler and the waiter very smartly recommended we order something light for our entrees. The appetizer had generous servings of salad, spring rolls, wontons, shrimp and others. Entrees were frog legs with garlic, Cantonese fried rice, salt and pepper seafood and a bottle of the house wine. Everything was fresh and flavorful; the service was attentive without being obtrusive. Only downside was that we sat against the wall and, by the time we were through with our dinner, the place was packed and we had a hard time making our way through the other tables. Not a bad problem to have! Will definitely visit again, hopefully when the weather is nicer and we can sit outside by the water 🙂
Patrick Steidl★★★★★
We were excited to explore the area around our AirBnB. The last place we thought we’d find ourselves was a Vietnamese restaurant in France.
Wow… we are so happy we chose this. This was one of the best dinners we have had on our vacation. The food selection is great. The drink selection is mediocre, but you’ll be so preoccupied with the taste of your dinner that you will hardly notice.
Working really hard on not mailing it in for dinner tonight and just heading back here.
Gabriele Brambilla★★★★★
A nice Asian restaurant with a very good service. The vibe is quite cozy and friendly. The food was good and with good portions (we got spring rolls, beef with black mushrooms and chicken with cashews). We particularly liked the dessert Fuji Yama, one of their specialties. Good quality price ratio (37€ per person).

Very rude and unpleasant experience/Expérience très désagréable et attitude extrêmement impolie
We came to the restaurant with children and, after sitting down and ordering, we found the indoor dining area quite stuffy. The children also felt uncomfortable, so we simply asked if we could move to a table near the entrance before our food had even been served.
Unfortunately, the owner refused and completely ignored the fact that we were feeling uncomfortable. Instead, he spoke to us in an extremely rude and arrogant manner, basically saying: “Either you sit here, or you leave.”
We were not asking for anything unreasonable — we simply wanted to move to another available table before the food arrived, especially because the children were uncomfortable.
The attitude was incredibly impolite, arrogant and unpleasant. We have rarely experienced such poor hospitality in a restaurant. Very disappointing.
Otto Witte★★★★★
It is not easy to find fine Asian cuisine in Grimaud and the surrounding area. That's why we were particularly impressed by O Grimo Zen in the centre of Grimaud. The atmosphere is a fusion of French and Asian influences. The dishes are very tasty and well-balanced. The excellent, friendly and courteous service deserves special mention. An absolute recommendation.

I ordered spring rolls and green Thai curry and the curry had ZERO flavour and taste. After I asked for a salt and salted the dish it was just slightly better but still it was definitely the worst green Thai curry I've ever eaten in my life.
€45 for a green Thai curry, few spring rolls and a can of coke is a rip off too. The place is dirty.
Avoid.
Essential Tips for Choosing an Asian Restaurant in Saint-Tropez
Dining out in Saint-Tropez is an investment, so it pays to be strategic about where you book a table. The local dining culture blends French service standards with international flavors, and a little preparation can significantly elevate your evening.
Prioritize Fresh Seafood Integration. The best Asian chefs in Saint-Tropez take advantage of the daily catch from the Mediterranean. Look for menus that feature local red tuna, sea bream, or langoustines in their sushi, sashimi, or wok dishes. This ensures you are getting a unique fusion experience that highlights the region’s bounty rather than frozen imports.
Book Ahead During High Season. From June to September, the population of Saint-Tropez swells exponentially. Even if a restaurant looks quiet at 7:00 PM, it is likely fully booked by 9:00 PM. Always reserve your table a few days in advance, especially if you require a terrace seat or are dining with a large group.
Understand the Pricing Structure. Asian food in Saint-Tropez is generally considered "gastronomic" rather than "casual." Expect prices to be significantly higher than standard metropolitan Asian eateries. This reflects both the real estate costs of the Riviera and the high quality of the raw materials. Check the menu online before committing to avoid sticker shock.
Dress the Part. While Saint-Tropez is a beach town, it is an elegant one. Most upscale Asian restaurants enforce a smart-casual dress code in the evenings. Leave the flip-flops and wet swimwear for the beach clubs; opt for linen shirts, sundresses, and stylish footwear to blend in with the chic clientele.
Don’t Skip the French Wine Pairings. It is tempting to order sake or Asian beer with your meal, but Saint-Tropez is surrounded by exceptional Rosé de Provence and crisp white wines. The mineral-driven whites from nearby vineyards pair beautifully with raw fish and lightly spiced dishes, offering a true taste of the destination.
Check for Seasonal Closures. Saint-Tropez is highly seasonal. Many of the top-tier restaurants close for the winter months, usually from November through early March. Always verify the current operating hours before making the drive, as even some of the most popular spots shut down entirely during the off-season.
As the sun sets over the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and the lights of the Vieux Port begin to twinkle, there is something undeniably magical about enjoying a plate of perfectly sliced sashimi or a fragrant bowl of Thai curry. These restaurants prove that the culinary scene here is as diverse as the yachts moored in the harbor.
Whether you are taking a break from French cuisine or simply seeking the best raw fish in town, these Asian establishments offer a world-class dining experience. They manage to respect the deep traditions of Eastern cooking while embracing the undeniable glamour and luxury of the French Riviera.
