The French Riviera is synonymous with glamour, but beyond the private beaches and film festival red carpets, Cannes has evolved into a genuinely exciting culinary destination. While Provençal bistro fare and fresh seafood have always reigned supreme, the city’s palate has expanded dramatically over the last decade. Today, the narrow streets of Le Suquet and the chic boulevards near La Croisette are home to a vibrant and diverse Asian food scene.
For visitors who have spent a week indulging in rich French butter sauces and cheese courses, the craving for something spicy, umami-rich, or aromatic often strikes. Fortunately, Cannes delivers with a surprising depth of quality. From steaming bowls of authentic Japanese ramen to delicate Thai curries and vibrant Vietnamese pho, the city offers a welcome contrast to traditional Mediterranean flavors.
However, navigating the dining landscape in a tourist-heavy city can be tricky. It is easy to stumble into a generic establishment that prioritizes foot traffic over flavor. To truly experience the best of what Cannes has to offer, you need to know where the locals go and which chefs are importing the highest quality ingredients from the East.
This curated guide focuses on quality, authenticity, and atmosphere. We have scoured the city to bring you a selection of venues that range from high-end, see-and-be-seen destinations to humble, family-run hideaways perfect for a casual lunch. Whether you are craving the precision of sushi or the fiery heat of a Thai wok, there is a table waiting for you.
Below, we have compiled the definitive list of the best spots to satisfy your Asian food cravings in Cannes. These restaurants have been selected for their consistent execution, service, and ability to transport your taste buds straight to the streets of Tokyo, Bangkok, or Hanoi.

Amazing tasty and traditional Vietnamese dishes with the lovely and exciting Cannes atmosphere. Service was very kind and polite. Highly recommended. I sadly forgot to take pics of my bó Bún Saigon dish 😋 I guess I have enjoyed too much the Luis Jadon Chablis from 2022 😋

If you’re vegan/vegetarian and you’re having problems finding food in Cannes or generally CdA, then this is the place for you:
I went in because I had to get some fresh spring rolls (which were amazing btw) for my mom. (My mom wanted the ones with beef)
After I asked a very kind waiter what he recommended for me (I don’t eat meat) he told me they had two options and the one I had was the best plant-based food in all of South of France!
The tofu was perfectly sweet and tangy. The noodles tasted fresh and the sweet sauce made it even more perfect.
The staff was so nice to me and prepared everything very quickly.

We had an amazing dinner here this evening! Every dish was expertly prepared. Fresh, full of flavor, and absolutely delicious. The authentic Vietnamese flavors really stood out, and you could taste the quality of the fresh ingredients in every bite. Everything was beautifully presented and exceptionally well executed. If you're looking for genuine Vietnamese cuisine in Cannes, I highly recommend Madame Hien. Very busy place!

This is the best Vietnamese restaurant abroad I have ever tried! The BBQ of Bun Cha dish is on the next level. The ice coffee with condensed milk is superb. This restaurant really represents the best of Vietnamese traditional dishes. Great location, right behind Carlton hotel. A must-try in Cannes!

Honestly I’m so proud to see a Vietnamese restaurant like Madame Hien here 🍀
Every single dish was delicious and authentic 😮💨 We had Bun Cha - Pho Bo - Bo Luc Lac - Nem - Lichi ice cream- Cafe Sua Da 😋
The staff members are so sweet, and seeing the chef smile in the kitchen area made the experience even better 🫶🏻
The space is spotless, super cozy, and elegantly designed.
Highly recommended!!! 🌟🌟🌟

10000/10!! in every way! Staff were friendly and full of character - it seemed a lovely environment to work. Menu had an excellent array of authentic dishes. The service was great and fast. Food was extremely good and worth the price, like i was eating in Thailand again! I dined outside and it was peaceful and quiet. I went for a dessert out of curiosity and it was just delicious! Would highly recommend this place!!

We stopped by for lunch during our trip to Cannes, it gets pretty busy during lunch and seems like a crowd favorite!
Your orders arrive lighting quick, maybe mention to your server to bring your mains after the appetizers or they might arrive together like ours.
The food tasted fresh and flavorful, expected a bit more kick and punch of flavors from Thai food, probably due to the local taste buds, overall a great find in Cannes!

This was our second time eating in this restaurant as we were only on holiday for one week. Our first visit was so good we had to return.
We were a party of four adults and on both occasions we thoroughly enjoyed our food, the flavours were unreal the staff excellent. We would highly recommend Chai Dee .

Amazing food!!!!!!! A MUST! Also Shane was a great waiter.
We got there 10 min before it opened. They were accommodating and gave us a seat. Party of 7 and I highly recommend for team dinners and other.

My girlfriend loves Thai food, so we decided to try this highly rated restaurant conveniently located near our Airbnb. We only had a short wait before being seated, though it was clear how busy the place was—the staff were all hustling nonstop. While not the friendliest service, it was definitely efficient.
We ordered the beef salad and chicken pad Thai. Both dishes were delicious, though the salad portion was smaller than expected compared to the photos. The pad Thai, however, was packed with flavor and easily a highlight. I also really enjoyed the Amaretto cocktail—highly recommended.
The atmosphere was another plus: a stylish interior with plenty of outdoor seating to choose from.

Finding truly authentic Thai food in Cannes—not the watered-down fusion often found on the coast—is a challenge, but Tuk Tuk Thai is the absolute exception.
The experience was flawless from start to finish:
• The Food: We started with the Som Tam, which was vibrant, crunchy, and packed that authentic dried shrimp and peanut punch. The Pad Thai was amazing, best Pad Thai outside Thailand, served with beautifully seared, massive king prawns. But the star of the show was the Duck Red Curry—the duck was succulent with perfectly rendered crispy skin, swimming in a rich, silky sauce with fresh lychee and basil.
• The Vibe: The ambiance is sophisticated and upscale, perfect for a date or a high-end dinner, yet it retains a soul thanks to the incredibly friendly Thai owner who makes you feel like a guest in their home.
If you want bold, uncompromising Thai flavors in a beautiful setting, this is the place. I'll be dreaming about that curry for a while!

🇹🇭 Authentic Thai Flavours at Affordable Prices

Absolutely loved this restaurant! As a Thai person, I can honestly say that the food was incredibly authentic and brought back memories of home. Every dish was full of flavour and tasted just like what I would have in Thailand. It’s not easy to find Thai food abroad that truly captures the essence of Thai cuisine, but this place does it beautifully.
What made the experience even more special was the warm atmosphere and attention to detail. Eating here made me feel comforted and nostalgic, and I genuinely appreciated being able to enjoy flavours that reminded me of home. It’s no surprise that many Thai celebrities have also visited this restaurant, which speaks volumes about the quality and authenticity of the food.
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for genuine Thai cuisine. Whether you’re Thai and missing the taste of home or simply want to experience authentic Thai food, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit!!

I had one of the best chicken red curries I’ve ever tasted at Thai Original in Cannes. The spice level was just right—flavorful with a satisfying kick—while the dish itself was generous, packed with tender chicken, fresh vegetables, and a rich, well-balanced sauce.
It’s a bit of a shame that there wasn’t an English menu available, which might make ordering slightly tricky for some visitors. That said, the charm of the place more than makes up for it. It’s a small, cozy, and genuinely cute spot with an authentic feel.
Overall, it’s a hidden gem that definitely deserves more attention more people should give it a try.

Pretty good and prices are decent as well.
The chicken red curry was pretty spicy for me (I don’t usually eat spicy) so maybe mention it while ordering since it’s not written spicy on the menu. Very good regardless.
Papaya salad and pad thai shrimp were also very good.
Cute place and very quiet

Surprisingly really good experience. Already the fact that the chef is Japanese suggested confidence in this actually being a real Japanese cuisine. The menu was bit limited this week but the chef went out of his way to prepare his own creations and it was delicious. Service was really caring and attentive! Definitely would go back!

Such a lovely experience here. The food was honestly amazing - everything we ordered was full of flavour and extremely well done and well presented.
The service was also amazing, friendly and attentive and made us feel really comfortable and very special.
The place had a lovely ambience all round and a beautiful outside area.
Definitely one of my favourite places in Cannes, would 100% recommend!
Sabine Garzón Hutchinson★★★★★
We hosted a large gathering for 12 people at Shiso and it was the most perfect, cosy ambient setting, with an exceptional and exciting set menu which got everyone talking and tucking into! Both the taste and the presentation of the sushi in the sushi boat was spectacular, the tofu wok in a sweet sauce was utterly delicious, the mochi's at dessert were a mochi lovers dream (I loved the lychee). Shiso's team provided a charming and friendly, efficient service and I'd come back again in a heartbeat. Thank you for having us!
Lochana★★★☆☆
The ambiance of this place was the best part. The beef tataki was overcooked on the edges (burnt) and the cut was extremely thick and smothered in sauce which took away from the flavour. The sushi was also nauseatingly covered in sauce. The black cod miso was definitely the highlight. Overall, extremely expensive dinner and we left unsatisfied.

This restaurant has truly nailed the street food concept.
You place your order at a self-service kiosk and the food is prepared. It’s nice that the kitchen is visible. Our order was ready quickly.
We enjoyed the food overall. Although we asked for extra spicy, it wasn’t even mildly spicy. The portions were generous.
Vlad Micu★★★★★
Fast, tasty and affordable! A new no frills place and can’t beat that speed. You might want to ask the staff to go easy on the sauce if that’s not your thing. Both the chicken and beef are amazing. I can recommend getting the extra meat option for that perfect balance of noodles and protein.
The chicken was nicely crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The beef was cut in perfectly sized cubes with the right soft bite. Skip the rice and just get the nicely bouncy fat rice noodles instead! Definitely coming back here!

The waiter didn't speak English. We asked for vegan food and all we understood was to look at the allergies table. So we ordered some noodles with vegetables, VEGETABLE spring rolls, and tofu. We got uncooked noodles (see picture), MEAT spring rolls, and the tofu was ok. We discovered that the rolls had meat inside after the first bite, and we had to throw them away.
Overall food tasted bad also.

Good place for some really tasty pad Thai. Perfectly cooked chewy noodles. I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp (prawns). They used onions and carrots vs the standard bean sprouts and scallions but overall, very tasty and great experience. I would eat here again.
Ooft Sauce★★☆☆☆
We came here after having a good experience at Antibes Elephant. But very disappointing. We were the first to sit inside, we ordered then other diners arrived and all got their food. We looked at the waiter and said what's happening. Either he failed to put the order in, or the kitchen failed to cook. We heard a bit of chatter. So our food came late. My chow mein prawns was good but my wife's pad Thai was pretty awful. Some of the noodles were hard, there was no peanuts and chilli, hardly any bean sprouts and tiny pieces of chicken. But the big issue was the balance, the sauce was just sugar as far as we could tell. I tasted the noodles and just awfully sweet.
The manager asked us what was wrong as my wife didn't eat and we let him know. He said he would talk to the kitchen as it was his responsibility. But no offer to reduce the E75 bill for lunch for two. Very disappointed 😞
Laura Hatcher★☆☆☆☆
Worst meal I’ve had in Cannes. Service is painfully slow there is one poor girl who is carrying the whole restaurant. Hence I have better service.
The food is below average. And it took 45 mins for a curry. No cutlery. The rice was under cooked. Don’t waste stomach space guys🙏🏻 The prices that are charged and the experience you get is not equal.
Edited ** threw up half an hour after leaving. No idea why but cannot be a good sign
Kay Allen★★★☆☆
The food here was quite nice but I was not happy about the service and the atmosphere wasn’t welcoming. We were the only guests and the staff took their time before welcoming us to take a seat. We ordered our food and beverage and waited what felt like eternity. The food finally arrived which looked and tasted delicious however the rice was small portion in comparison to chicken I had ordered. It was nice however the service was terrible we were ignored for majority of our stay, we did not receive our beverage and still charged for it. Even though we were there only guests the whole time we were there.

We went to Shiro twice during our trip. The food was wonderful and the portions were big. We tried the poke bowls and the donburi. The service was great too. The place is also very well located near bus stops and the area is lively.

Cute little place with pavement seating and friendly, helpful service. The food isn't terribly Japanese but it was good. We had a selection of sushi (good but the wasabi had zero taste), yakitori (good but quite sweet), gyoza (quite thick fried shell but very tasty), and a beef wok (slightly goopy overpowering sauce but also tasty). Would come back, especially for the sushi, and because the owner was nice.

Essential Tips for Enjoying Asian Cuisine in Cannes
Dining out in Cannes requires a slightly different strategy than other cities, especially during the busy summer months and the International Film Festival. To ensure you have the best possible experience and avoid common tourist pitfalls, consider the following advice before you book your table.
Plan Ahead for Peak Seasons
Cannes transforms during events like MIPIM, the Cannes Lions, and the Film Festival. Even the smallest noodle bars get fully booked. Always make a reservation a few days in advance if you are visiting in May or during the summer high season. For popular spots, a phone call or an online booking is essential to avoid disappointment.
Embrace the Off-Peak Hours
French dining times are generally later than in many other countries. If you want a quieter, more relaxed experience at a popular Asian restaurant, consider dining early (around 7:00 PM) or opting for a late lunch. This allows the kitchen more time to focus on detail and often results in faster, more attentive service.
Look Beyond La Croisette
While the promenade offers stunning views, the restaurants directly on the waterfront often charge a premium for the location rather than the food. To find the most authentic Asian flavors, venture a few blocks inland. The areas around Rue d’Antibes and the historic Le Suquet district often house hidden gems where the focus is firmly on the culinary craft.
Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Authentic Heat
French cuisine traditionally avoids intense spice, and some restaurants may tone down the heat levels for the local clientele. If you are a fan of true Sichuan or Thai spice, do not hesitate to ask your server for the "real" version or request extra chili on the side. Most authentic chefs will be delighted to accommodate a palate that appreciates fire.
Pair with Local Wines
While beer and sake are natural companions for Asian food, Cannes is surrounded by excellent vineyards. Many of the higher-end Asian restaurants in the city boast impressive wine lists featuring local Rosé de Provence or crisp white wines. A dry Provence rosé pairs surprisingly well with spicy Thai basil dishes and fresh spring rolls, offering a uniquely Côte d’Azur dining experience.
Exploring the Asian culinary scene in Cannes offers a refreshing counterpoint to the city’s traditional gastronomy. It proves that the French Riviera is not just a bastion of classic fine dining but a living, breathing international hub where diverse flavors are celebrated. Whether you choose a refined omakase experience or a bustling bowl of noodles, these restaurants provide the perfect balance to your Mediterranean holiday. Enjoy the journey, and bon appétit.
