The Champs-Élysées is one of the most famous avenues in the world, but its reputation for glamour often comes with a price tag to match. Many visitors assume that grabbing a bite near the Arc de Triomphe means settling for overpriced tourist traps or bland fast food. The reality, however, is that the surrounding 8th arrondissement and its neighboring districts are full of hidden gems where locals eat well without emptying their wallets.
Finding affordable food in this prestigious part of Paris requires a willingness to explore the side streets that branch off the main boulevard. Just a short walk from the luxury boutiques, you will discover family-run bistros, ethnic eateries, and charming bakeries that offer excellent value. The key is knowing where to look and understanding that Parisian dining does not have to be expensive to be memorable.
This guide focuses on practical, budget-friendly options that maintain high standards of quality and authenticity. Whether you are looking for a quick crêpe to eat on the go, a satisfying sit-down lunch, or a cozy dinner after a day of sightseeing, there are choices to suit every taste. The emphasis is on places that prioritize fresh ingredients and genuine hospitality over inflated tourist pricing.
It is also worth noting that dining culture in Paris offers built-in ways to save money. The “formule” or set menu at lunchtime is often significantly cheaper than ordering à la carte in the evening. Similarly, grabbing a fresh baguette sandwich from a quality boulangerie can be both a delicious and economical way to enjoy a meal while continuing your exploration.
The areas immediately around the Champs-Élysées, including Rue de Ponthieu, Rue de Berri, and the streets near the Madeleine, are particularly rich in affordable options. Here, office workers and local residents create a steady demand for honest, well-priced food. Following their lead is one of the best ways to eat like a local rather than a tourist.
Below, you will find a curated selection of affordable places to eat that are all within easy walking distance of the Champs-Élysées. These recommendations span different cuisines and dining styles, ensuring that you can find something appealing no matter your mood or budget. Each one has been chosen for its combination of quality, value, and accessibility.

We've been here twice and we really loved the experience. If you are looking for a nice place for dinner o lunch, that's the one. Everything was delicious and served very quickly. The waiters are all friendly and helpful, especially Chotan. There is food for everyone: beef, lamb, chicken, duck, fish, other sea food, salads, french desserts... A good variety to choose from. And they work till late night, so it was perfect for us to come here for late dinner after observing the Eiffel Tower lights. We will definitely come back here the next time we are in Paris.

One of the best meals we had in Paris! The onion soup was loaded with cheese and a great start. The ravioli from the Dauphiné region (Label Rouge) with parmesan cream was absolutely delectable. The langoustines were huge, they stared right back at you! Definitely an adventure.
The grilled ribeye with Béarnaise sauce and fries (classic steak frites) was fantastic. I couldn’t finish it, but pro tip: place the steak on the fries and let the juices soak in....so good.
We finished with the crème brûlée, and it was perfection, light and airy inside, with that crisp caramelized top, plus just a hint of bourbon and vanilla.
Yes, you’re on the Champs-Élysées, but this didn’t feel like a tourist trap. Definitely worth stopping in for a great meal.

What a lovely restaurant. We stopped by here for lunch and had a starter and a main and a starter, main and dessert.
Our waiter was Rashal, he was friendly and attentive in his role.
The Onion soup was beautiful and so was the salad. The mains were the haddock with rice and the other was sauerkraut with ham, smoked sausage and belly pork and dessert was creme brule.
Great atmosphere and all the food leaving the kitchen looked delicious 😋

Nice place with a great location on the Champs-Élysées and a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food was a bit disappointing for the price — the cream mussels and oysters did not feel very fresh or worth the value paid. The beef tartare was decent though. On the positive side, the service team was friendly, professional, and attentive throughout the meal.

Very nice restaurant, with outdoor seating where you can enjoy the Parisian atmosphere. Super friendly service, a magnificent atmosphere, and amazing food. Highly recommended for a typical Parisian dinner.
I thank the waiter serhat for being friendly and helpful!

We had a wonderful dining experience at Carré Élysée Café Brasserie during our visit to Paris. The restaurant has an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere, and its location near the Champs-Élysées makes it a perfect place to stop for a meal while exploring the city. The service was friendly and welcoming, and we really enjoyed the authentic Parisian ambience. A lovely place to relax, enjoy good food and experience the charm of Paris. Highly recommended!
We shared the Beef Rossini steak for two, served with incredibly delicious foie gras—perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavor. We also enjoyed a plate of moules, which were fresh and absolutely delicious. Everything was perfectly complemented by an excellent bottle of red wine.
The service was warm, attentive, and professional, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, out waiter name was Jose and he is a legend!. It was the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, and we couldn’t have chosen a better restaurant.
Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be back on our next visit to Paris!

What a charming and authentic little French spot in Paris! Le Carré Élysée gave us such a memorable dinner experience. Our waiter, Adrian, made everything feel even more special with his friendly and attentive service. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating available, but since it was chilly outside, we enjoyed the cozy indoor atmosphere.
We started the evening with red wine: I had the Brouilly AOP Château des Tours and my wife enjoyed the Pinot Noir IGP Le Versant. Both paired perfectly with the meal. For appetizers, we shared the Goat Cheese Spring Rolls, which were crispy, creamy, and delicious.
For dinner, my wife had the classic Boeuf Bourguignon, rich and comforting, while I ordered the Pluma de Cochon de nos Régions, which was incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. To finish the night, we shared the Éclair au caramel beurre salé. Absolutely amazing and the perfect sweet ending!
A fantastic little restaurant for both travelers looking for authentic French cuisine and locals wanting a cozy, quality meal. Yummmmmm!

The food was excellent overall, and the Confit de Canard was especially outstanding — perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavor. The service was also great, and Jonathan was particularly attentive and friendly, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place and would happily come back again.

We had an amazing meal! We are only in Paris for 2 nights before we begin our cycling and hiking journey for the next 3 weeks. We had walked by this restaurant last night and quickly decided would be a great place for dinner on our last night in Paris. The meal and service did not disappoint! My hubby had the nightly steak special and I had the gnocchi special. Both were amazing. I highly recommend this place and if you are lucky enough to get Jose as your waiter, you are in great hands!🙌

Champs Eleysees is riddled with restaurants, so choosing a restaurant and a menu that suits you can be difficult. We always like to narrow it down to 3 options. Cafe Di Roma was our 3rd option but 1st choice, purely for the menu and the vibe. Some restaurants on the stretch can be quite ‘boogee’. This one suited us great. Our server was Amir. He was great. Honest. Hard working. Great customer service, absolutely faultless. Amir introduced me to a new drink I’d never tried. His knowledge was great saying he’d only been there 2 weeks. (You’d never think it). The service was exceptional. After ordering food and drink, this was delicious. The pizza was a great size and great taste. The tagliatelle was beautiful too. A great size portion. Drinks were very complementary with the food. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The only thing I would say is to make it a non smoking zone outside. Apart from that, this was a great experience. Thank you for looking after us. I wish you all the best in your endeavours. 💫

Very nice restaurant on a very busy Champs Elysées. I enjoyed my order although the char on the fish was a bit too much for me but I didn't notice it when I paired it with the risotto. The staff were very friendly, helpful and fluent in English and explained the special to us and happily tailored the burger to suit the preferences of someone in our party. I definitely recommend.

With temperatures pushing 98 degrees, Café di Roma was the perfect spot to escape the heat and enjoy a quick lunch.
We ordered the 3-cheese pizza, and it was fantastic—hot, fresh, cheesy, and full of flavor. We also shared an order of mozzarella sticks, which were traditional and exactly what you’d expect: crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside.
A cold Pepsi was especially refreshing after walking around in the summer heat. The indoor seating provided a comfortable break from the weather, and the service was friendly and welcoming.
If you’re looking for a casual place to cool off, grab a quick bite, and recharge while exploring Paris, Café di Roma is a solid choice. 🍕🥤☀️

Fabio was an excellent host with a great attitude and made us feel very welcome. The place is lovely, and we enjoyed sitting in the outdoor seating area, which has a classic French atmosphere. It was a nice pit stop for us, and if you’re looking for a decent , reliable place, I would recommend it.

Had chicken burger with egg added, u might need to ask to have egg well done as its runny sunny side up. Kids had chicken tenders its 2 prices only. The French fries were fantastic nice and crispy. Vegetarian toastie had good veggie inside but too much cream cheese which I had to leave and work around to eat.
Roughly spend is €25 on average per person.

I first ordered onion soup but the soup was not that good and the cheese on top was a little burnt and also one of the toasted breads inside the soup was burnt too so I asked them to change my food and they kindly accepted. Instead of the soup I ordered a steak with fries which was good. Generally I was satisfied but I don’t recommend the soup.

We had an extremely unpleasant and rude experience 😟😟😟😟
I came to Paris from the Netherlands for a holiday, and a few hours ago, we went to Brasserie des Champs on the Champs-Élysées for lunch.
Since we live in the Netherlands, we are accustomed to waiting for a member of staff to show us to a table as a matter of basic courtesy, even when a restaurant is completely empty. We were prepared to do the same here, but before sitting down, we simply asked whether onion soup was available as a starter.
The female waitress responded in an extremely rude manner. She told us, essentially, that we could not simply walk in, ask whether they had onion soup, and then sit wherever we wanted. Her attitude was so hostile that we felt as though we were being thrown out of the restaurant.
She then made another dismissive hand gesture and rudely told us, “Go ahead, sit at that table.”
My husband was about to sit down simply out of politeness, but I quietly told him that I did not want to stay. The waitress clearly understood this and, once again in a very rude manner, turned her head away as if to say, “Suit yourselves,” and began speaking in French to another employee at the bar.
There was no argument, no disagreement, no misunderstanding, and absolutely no reason for such behaviour. Nevertheless, this was one of the rudest experiences we have ever had, and unfortunately, it left us with a very negative impression of the Champs-Élysées.
I sincerely hope that you can learn to treat tourists visiting your country with a little more courtesy and respect.
Yours sincerely,

We chanced on this place after spending a long time walking around champs elysee. And man we were lucky! The galettes were exquisite and they even had vegetarian options which was good to know! The crepes we tried (banana chocolate) were decent but may be a better choice from the menu would have made the experience complete! Will definitely come back again to try more galettes and crepe options that this creperie has to offer

Nice design, family friendly. Had a jekyl and hyde experience. 1st half perfect. Very attentive staff, our waiter 1st class, nice, tuxedo. Menu starters are a bit unapproachable. Not items we ever would have ordered. Had the cuttlefish and cold veggie plate, both delicious. No salads in the menu. Mains, Had the lobster linguine, fabulous. Roasted lamb was great, my fillet was nicely cooked, but only maybe 115 grams. Served with orange squash puree and carrots made for a very orange plate. It looked odd, tasted good!
2nd half our waiter disappeared on break after mains, never checked on us. Ran out of drinks and no water to be found.
We waited 20 minutes after finishing main before being asked for dessert by a second waitress, then another 15 minutes and we had to ask for the l'addition.
Food was good, but lack of traditional starters and poor service at the end, not surprised why the place is empty at 9pm.

Lovely dinner on our last night in Paris. Friend had the Lobster Linguine which was out of this world and my braised Lamb shoulder was delicious. My only complaint is that our food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. Even with dessert we were in and out of the restaurant in less than an hour. A bit rushed considering there was only a few other patrons dining. Nonetheless, a lovely place with great food.

The restaurant located in the 5 star hotel Marignan. Nice modern design.
Staff and waiters not always notice you, so need always search for them, that I didn’t like. Some of staff was really pro in the job, smily and helpful (don’t remember girl’s name), some staff wasn’t.
Food was delicious, really tasty. Nice drinks.
Haven’t tried dessert, unfortunately.
Just didn’t like many small flies around the food, after changing the table they were gone. But noone apologized for this.
Maybe you can double check your restaurant for cleaning.

Amazing food in a warm cozy interior. Highly recommend the beef cheek which melted in my mouth, or the perfectly cooked duck. The mango pana cotta was the best I’ve had outside of Italy!
The kitchen quickly whipped up a simple omelet for my toddler who cleaned the plate so fast. Great experience!

I recently went to this restaurant, but the experience was not good. Some dishes were undercooked, there were mistakes in the orders, and the service was very slow. There was also a 20-minute gap between dishes arriving at the table.
The waiter with glasses was rude, while the others were kind. Basic eye contact would have been appreciated.
The taste wasn’t bad, but overall I was disappointed. The restaurant needs to improve both the kitchen and the service.

Not sure why this place has such high ratings when Le Kiosque down the street is a superior product (in my humble opinion). And no, I'm not associated with them in any way...
Got the chicken and egg crepe here. The crepe was undercooked, the egg was still raw (see photo), and the chicken was cold. The coffee was alright, but that's about it...

We bought one ice cream one chocolate crepe, paid price 9.5. Then I noticed that ice cream is 4 and crepe is 4.5 so I said there’s a price problem with my order, one guy said because I took the big ice cream. First, no staff asked me what size do I want, second, he said it’s not him who took my order, do I want to change to a small size? This is so typical French service- avoid all the responsibilities and how can I change? I already eaten. Everything is not clear and they are honesty with price. Staff there are not polite when you raise the questions, also the crepe is below average.Avoid this scam shop!

An amazing place that truly exceeded our expectations! I highly recommend everyone to visit it at least once if you have the chance. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were not only friendly but also very attentive and professional. This place offers a great opportunity to experience authentic French cuisine and fully enjoy its rich flavors. The menu has a good variety of dishes, so everyone can find something they like. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. You can really tell that the kitchen puts effort and care into every dish.

Stopped here briefly and enjoyed a nice Belgian beer and Steak Frites. Overall, a very good experience. Steak was a little under done to my liking, but it worked perfectly as it was flank, and the onions on top were buttery and caramelized. The fries were crispy and the bearnaise sauce was fantastic. This was a solid brasserie and if you are in the area I highly recommend you grab a seat outside!

If you're looking for an unforgettable gastronomic experience in Paris, Le Maison D' Aubrac is an absolute must.
The meat is simply extraordinary—so tender it literally melts in your mouth. It's the kind of food that brings out your primal instincts, making you want to savor every last bite straight from the bone. Every dish was beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor.
A special thank you to Mael, the sommelier, whose knowledge, passion, and warm personality made choosing the perfect wine a real pleasure. His recommendations elevated the entire meal.
Our waiter, Pierre, was equally fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, he guided us through the menu, suggested excellent drinks, and convinced us to end the evening with a delicious dessert that we would have regretted missing.

What a wonderful dining experience. We are from America/ NYC area and the service in Paris is much different than what we’re used to. At Maison De L’Aubrac, though, we felt much more at home. We were greeted so kindly and accommodated immediately even though we were very early for our reservation. We were able to order only drinks at first and still go over the menu. The server, Lucien, was constantly checking on us. He was absolutely wonderful. This was by far the best meal experience we had. The French onion soup and the French toast dessert were our favorite parts!
HA R★★★★☆
We specifically came here as it was well reviewed on Google. I would discourage that. It's solid, Serviceable and I'm happy we went, but this is nothing special. Essentially a french diner. They seem to pride themselves on their meat. We had the steak. It was ok, but nothing memorable. Don't regret going, but won't be returning unless I'm in the neighborhood and need an option in short notice.
If I could I'd give this place 3.5 stars.

Highly recommend the cassolette de moul (Spanish mussels casserole) and marget de canard (duck breast)!! Came here for dinner and there were beautiful fairy lights, and the vibe was cosy. The Spanish mussels were so delicious, served in a creamy sauce with garlic, herbs and homemade breadcrumbs… legendary life-changing sauce omg we polished the dish clean with the bread, which was also soft and not hard to bite into. The duck breast, seared on the skin, was crispy, with a sweet honey sauce it was also our first time having medium rare duck meat. Less fibrous and juicier compared to beef steak, yummy and would recommend. Tasted like it was cooked in red wine. The potatoes served at the side was incredibly creamy and delicious as well, tasted as if it was cooked in white wine. Tasted good eating it one after the other.

Excellent service from start to finish. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and spoke English very well, which made everything easy and comfortable.
I highly recommend asking for the day’s specials from the chalkboard — it made the experience feel more authentic and added something unique to the meal.
Overall, a wonderful dining experience. I would definitely come back again!
Special dessert was delicious😋

Lovely little restaurant, very busy but waiters are on it. Super friendly and helpful, and speak English. Food was tasty, dessert was absolutely fantastic!! Try to sit outside or in the front part of the restaurant because there was no breeze in the back. Quaint little place, reasonable prices. Make a reservation on their website if you can or you may have to wait or go elsewhere.

Hands down the best dinner we had in Paris! Very unassuming, local restaurant that serves "fine dining" French dishes in a casual setting. There is the main menu and then there are the fresh daily specials. My sister and I chose to have the French onion soup (best French onion soup we've ever had!) to start. We both had the duck confit which was nice and crunchy with some mash puree and slaw. It was delicious. To top it all off we had a perfect creme brulee and Americano with pistachio cookie. I am definitely coming back here when I visit Paris next!

I heard great things about Le Sens Unique so I decided to check it out. It was an intimate, quaint setting. The outside seating was just a cute and romantic. The servers were very accommodating, attentive and knowledgeable. The french onion soup was the best I ever had and the shrimp and pasta was absolutely delicious! It was creamy, it had nice size shrimp, and black olives. I Ioved the food so much I went back three days later. The chef Frédéric was gracious and approachable. He was kind enough to take a picture with me and gave a little back story on the words printed outside of the restaurant. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

Also the service is really nice, something you don’t find that often in Paris. Our waiter Altaf was really nice and attentive to us.

They graciously accepted a heatstroke having American and gave him a wonderful three course meal. I can’t really say anything negative about the experience if I tried. The pepper steak sauce is delicious.

Absolutely phenomenal, and a must visit on your next visit to Paris. The service and hospitality from the moment we stopped to look at the menu all the way to the end of the meal, was absolutely amazing.
The steak here is unlike any steak I’ve ever had. If you think you know good steak, then yku need to come here. The beef tataki is an absolute must order and is delicious and melted in your mouth. I thought it couldn’t get better and then the ribeye came out. If you’re looking for a restaurant with beautiful ambiance and hospitality, and top tier food, then you need to come here. We can’t wait to come back, it will be our first stop when we return to Paris.

During my three night stay my partner and I visited the steak house. We were served by Altaf and from the moment we arrived he was nothing but friendly and attentive. Throughout our meal Altaf ensured we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying ,which ultimately made the experience perfect. He was extremely professional and polite without being invasive. All around we had an amazing evening meal here.
Smart Tips for Eating Affordably near the Champs-Élysées
While the list above gives you specific destinations, a few local habits will help you save even more money. Parisians know that timing, location, and menu choices dramatically affect how much you pay for a meal. By adopting these simple strategies, you can enjoy the culinary richness of the area while keeping your budget firmly under control.
Walk a few blocks away from the avenue. Prices drop noticeably as soon as you leave the immediate Champs-Élysées. Restaurants on the side streets rely on repeat local customers rather than one-time tourists, so they offer better value and often more authentic cooking.
Choose the lunchtime formule. Many bistros and brasseries offer a two- or three-course set menu at lunch for a fraction of the dinner price. This is the single most effective way to enjoy a proper sit-down French meal without overspending.
Embrace the bakery lunch. A fresh baguette sandwich, a slice of quiche, or a savory pastry from a quality boulangerie costs only a few euros. Take it to a nearby park or bench on the Champs-Élysées and enjoy a simple but satisfying meal with a view.
Look for prix-fixe menus at dinner. If you plan to eat out in the evening, scan the chalkboards outside restaurants for fixed-price menus. These often include an appetizer, main course, and sometimes dessert for a set amount that is cheaper than ordering separately.
Skip the soft drinks and opt for tap water. In France, a carafe d’eau is free and perfectly safe to drink. Avoiding bottled water and sodas can save you several euros per person at every meal.
Check opening hours before you go. Many affordable local spots close between lunch and dinner service or shut entirely on weekends. A quick online check will save you from arriving at a locked door and settling for a pricier alternative.
Exploring the area around the Champs-Élysées does not have to mean choosing between convenience and affordability. With a little local knowledge and a willingness to wander just beyond the main avenue, you can enjoy excellent food at prices that make sense for everyday travel. The options listed here prove that this glamorous neighborhood has a welcoming side for every budget.
The best meals in Paris are often the ones that feel effortless and unpretentious. By following the locals to their favorite bakeries, crêperies, and neighborhood bistros, you will experience the true flavor of the city while keeping your travel funds intact for other adventures. Bon appétit.
