Toulouse may be famous for its aerospace industry and distinctive pink terracotta architecture, but the “Ville Rose” also harbors a vibrant and fiercely independent food scene. While cassoulet and duck confit often steal the culinary spotlight, the city’s pizza culture has evolved into something truly remarkable. From wood-fired Neapolitan purists to contemporary Roman-style al taglio, Toulouse offers a diverse landscape for dough enthusiasts.
Navigating the cobblestone streets of the historic center or the bustling boulevards of Saint-Cyprien reveals a wealth of options that go far beyond standard late-night delivery. The local demand for high-quality ingredients—think San Marzano tomatoes, Fior di Latte, and slow-fermented doughs—has pushed pizzerias to elevate their craft. Whether you are a local looking for a new weekly staple or a visitor seeking comfort food between museum tours, the choices can be overwhelming.
This guide cuts through the noise to deliver a curated list of the best pizza spots in the city. We have evaluated these establishments based on dough quality, ingredient sourcing, cooking technique, and overall atmosphere. We prioritize places that offer a genuine experience, whether it is a quick slice on the go or a sit-down dinner with natural wine.
The list includes a mix of traditional Italian methods and modern French twists to satisfy every palate. You will find everything from the charred, leopard-spotted crusts of Naples to the thick, airy bases of Rome. Each entry has been selected for its consistency and reputation among discerning locals.
Whether you prefer a classic Margherita, a truffle-laden white pizza, or a vegan-friendly option loaded with seasonal vegetables, Toulouse has a table for you. Prepare to discover hidden gems tucked away in quiet squares and trendy hotspots that require a reservation days in advance.
Here is our selection of the 15 best pizza spots in Toulouse, presented in no particular order.

Strong recomendation. Very good pizza.
We had the mortadella one, which wad exceptional. And the speck one is which was good. The dough was exactly how I like it. It was baked to perfection, very fluffy, not overdone. And the ingredients were very high quality.
Having lived in Italy for 2 years and being a piztayolo myself with my own pizza ovens, I'm always quite critical but I think this place is worth a visit.
We only tried the pizzas and not the entres or desserts but we saw the noccioletta dessert and it looked amazing.

Delicious, rapid, invigorating. This inspiring establishment provided a fantastic experience for my taste buds. We are not worthy of such delicacies on our meager planet, our meer existence left undeserving. Nice!
Edit: Absolutely astounding. The restaurant delivers yet again with sumptuous success. 2 words. Ice. Cream. Is. Nice. Had a cheeky little gelato. Would recommend!

Their menu is perfectly sized and ideated, with wonderful flavour combinations. The execution is excellent too, we had the mortadella and the speck pizzas and loved both of them. Will definitely be back to try the rest! Honourable mention for the service too, they were incredibly fast and attentive

This little restaurant was a pleasant surprise during our trip to Toulouse! The pizza dough was thin like in Italy, the tomato sauce was really tasty! In general, it was a pizza I really enjoyed and I believe their ingredients were high quality.
We tried the Primavera which was perfect and the Tuco which was my personal favourite! For the Tuco, we asked not to put too many green peppers inside, to make it less spicy. The result was delicious!
We also got a salad which was okay and a profiterole which had ice cream inside. Personally, I am a fan of the classic profiterole, with just chocolate and the sous (tbf I am not sure if this one is the classic profiterole), but nevertheless, I liked it.
The store was cozy and the staff was really friendly and could speak English!
Unfortunately I thought of taking photos only when we had the dessert, I was a bit hungry before 😅

Super yummy! Modern and young vibes. The dough is PERFECT 👍 close to the river so you can take pizza (and their homemade lemonade!) out and gave a great evening, watching the sunset

Delicious pizzas, very kind staff, cosy place to go with friends.
A kind warning for Italians, they don't have alcoholic beverages.

If you are in Toulouse and looking for a place that truly knows how to feed you properly, Pomozza is the spot. Simple as that.
The pizza? Shockingly good.
The kind of pizza that makes you stop mid‑bite and think, “Wait… how is this even possible in France?”
Then came the polpette al sugo — tender, rich, and absolutely impossible to leave on the plate. As a real Italian, of course I cleaned the sauce with their wood‑fired bread. Zero shame, pure joy.
And then the surprise: French cold cuts that are actually excellent. Turns out France isn’t just the land of cheese.
What really makes Pomozza shine is the atmosphere. The team welcomes you with warmth, humor, and that effortless kindness that makes you feel instantly at home.
A cozy, lively spot in Toulouse where you eat well, relax, and walk out smiling.
Highly recommended.

The vibe is cool, the restaurant owner is cool and everything about it is just cool.
Food wise I only tried margarita pizza, it’s too thin in the middle and very hard crust on the edge and feels like you can make better at home, it just feels like a pizza that you can make with an air fryer. Overall I would say 6.8/10.
Will visit again to give it another chance with other options they have.
Susie Reilly★★★★★
Wow! Tried this place after seeing the reviews and it was fantastico! The crust was perfectly cooked - crunchy outside, yet tender. Fresh ingredients and seasonings that made us want more. It’s been a long time since a pizza has been good enough for me to eat the whole pizza, but I did! Molto Bene, Le zinc.

We had a really lovely evening at Volfoni in Toulouse and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, with a nice balance between cozy and stylish—perfect for both a family dinner and a more grown‑up night out. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and they were happy to accommodate our questions and small requests.
The food was clearly well‑prepared and tasted great; everything we ordered came fresh and with thoughtful presentation. We appreciated that they offered some kid‑friendly options on the menu, which made the evening much easier and more enjoyable with our children. Portions were generous, and the flavors felt authentic rather than overly fussy.
Overall, Volfoni delivered a very pleasant dining experience: good food, a welcoming ambiance, and service that felt genuinely hospitable. We would definitely recommend it to others visiting Toulouse and would be happy to return ourselves.

Wonderful food in one of the most interesting open spaces in the city. I had chicken with mashed potato, mushrooms, roast cherry tomatoes and a sauce; the dish was beautifully cooked and very tasty. My dining companion had the lasagne and declared it to be excellent.

One of the best experiences we had during our 2-day trip to Toulouse. From the very beginning, the atmosphere of the restaurant makes you feel comfortable, but what truly stands out is the quality of the food and the service.
The pizza was excellent, with a perfectly crafted dough and high-quality ingredients that you can taste in every bite. The dessert was the perfect finishing touch—well presented, balanced, and absolutely delicious.
A special mention to Sheila, who provided outstanding service. She was very kind, attentive at all times, and her friendly attitude made the experience even better.
Overall, a completely recommendable place. Without a doubt, one of the highlights of our stay in Toulouse. Recomendable 100%

A very delightful place.
Warm ambiance and great food and the service is top notch there. We were welcomed and served by the kindest waitress I have ever encountered Isabelle whom I really thank for her energy that made our day seem brighter and happier.
The food there is of a great quality and many options exist. The pizzas are really good and have the real Italian taste. The pasta as well is great and their Antipasti are also very tasty and of high quality. The drinks (cocktails) that they offer are of a barman’s creativity but with elegance and taste (happy hour for cocktails exists). I recommend this place and would surely go again multiple times.

One of my favorite pizza places in Toulouse. Serving take out only, this pizzeria is always so demanded that it's better to phone well in advance to place your order. Pizzas are delicious and the portions are generous. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. A must.
Ghouda Bajji★☆☆☆☆
Had so much high expectations on them looking at all these reviews and being recommended to me by a lot of people , but safe to say this was one of the worst (if not the worst) pizza i tried in my whole life . I got the mahara and the truffle one , for that price and those very little sizes and the waiting time it is really not worth it it was so wet and liquidy that it got soaked up in the span of 12 min to take it home ! The mahara one was soooo greasy and full of oils , it did not taste like pizza whatsoever . But it was really the aftermath that got me my stomach was hurting really bad for a whole day after that which i have never felt after eating a pizza before . The chicken on the truffle one tasted like nothing ! No seasoning in sight not even salt and pepper ! Overall not worth the hype nor the energy nor the wait time nor the price if you want to enjoy a good italian pizza there is plenty of other places in toulouse to do so . Bad experience .
Yahya★☆☆☆☆
So overhyped, the personal is friendly the garniture is generous but the base and tomato sauce are south. It has nothing to do with pizza its more like a good sandwich …
The whole pizza box became so wet and oiled within 10minutes…

I’d say this place is just OK, not exceptional. Decent fresh pizza, average, slightly grumpy service, no less, no more
Catarina Bajanca★★★★★
I went for a solo dinner and got a balcony seat without a reservation on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was lovely — cozy setting with great music playing in the background.
The service was excellent. I asked for advice on which pizza to choose, and the recommendation was spot on. The pizza was delicious, with fresh and good-quality ingredients.
I really enjoyed my dinner here. Nice place to go by yourself. Highly recommended!

I recommend this restaurant for a good Neapolitan pizza with fresh ingredients. We tried l’avocado which was a refreshing taste. Not often do you see avocado on a pizza. The Vegetarian pizza had generous toppings.
I especially loved their chilli oil. It was hot!!
I recommend making a reservation if you are going on for dinner during the weekend.
xixi ZHOU★☆☆☆☆
Ok. Where shall I start with my horrible experience? First of all, the reservation doesn't work well or they are too busy to confirm. Anyway, we are here, there's place outside which is cool. Then we are waiting for 20 minutes so we can wave at the waitress and order. I understood it's very busy. There are 10 tables inside at most and lots of deliveries. But it's not an excuse to let us wait for 40 minutes again for our pizzas. There are deliveries come and go. There are people coming later than us and have their pizzas earlier than us. Which is not yet the worst, 😭 my friend ordered a pizza without Roquettes, but they got my tartufata without Roquettes.......then, we are waiting for another 10 minutes for fixing the Roquettes problem. It's the longest waiting pizza in my life. And it not worth the time! It's salty and no mozzarella on a tartufata.....The dough is overcooked per my Italian friend. To a conclusion, this is a pizzeria opens on Monday when the other pizzeria closed. That's all what we got! I will not come back for sure.

The Mazzolina Group owns two take-away pizzerias and a restaurant in downtown Toulouse. (A fourth venue is on its way).
All three are popular for the Neapolitan flavorful pizzas, sandwiches and home-style pasta dishes.
I went twice - yes, twice in 24h as food is unbelievably delicious - during my stay in Toulouse at this pizzeria located in Place Schuman, whose only defect is having just a few outside tables/seats.
Special mention for the Latina woman who attended me one night for the service provided.
Very highly recommended.
Roberto Steck-Ibarra★★★★★
Even though it's a pizza place, I always get the sandwiches. And they are the best sandwiches in Toulouse - hot, large and tasty - at an unbeatable price!! The service is super fast and the workers are friendly.
Tomáš Patočka★★☆☆☆
Sadly, not an experience we expected. Pancetta super black and its quantity very poor, dough not prepared in a right way, edge hardly eatable. The huge amount of mozzarella cannot save those faults.

We had a fantastic experience at Spritzza Pizza in Toulouse! From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent – warm, attentive, and efficient. The gentleman who served us spoke excellent English, which made ordering and asking questions a breeze.

The atmosphere is cozy and inviting – perfect for a relaxed evening out. I highly recommend this little gem to anyone looking for top-notch pizza in Toulouse. We’ll definitely be back!

Cool Little spot, they share a big sitting room with the kebab restaurant, and also make fresh to go pizzas in about 10 mins.
Pizzas are good, their base cheese is mozzarella which is required for my taste and not so easy to find in Toulouse.

Prices are great and takes meal voucher cards
They also have ice cream for a good price

I've been here 5 times for now.
They make the best pizza dough, which along with fresh ingredients add up to one of the most amazing pizza's I've ever had.
The napolitan decor is feels very crude and the staff is lively, which adds to the experience.
For me this place amazing and I definitely recommend it.

Perfect. An Associazone Verace Pizza Napoletana-verified pizza place with wood-fired pizza. Classic ingredients and preparation, perfect service. Magnificent. Kept it simple with bufalina and everything was simply perfect.

This is by far one of the best pizzeria in Toulouse. First the atmosphere was great, loved the lights and the Maradona ref. Now for the most important thing: the pizza! The pizza wad close to perfection. The dough was light, the sauce was simply beautiful and the cheese.. perfection. Great job 🤌🏻

I had an exceptional experience at this amazing pizzeria The inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and outstanding pizzas made it a memorable dining experience. The crust was perfectly crisp, the toppings were fresh, and the flavors were delightful. It’s a gem among pizzerias, and I highly recommend it!

The location is cozy and clean, don vincenzo's staff makes you feel like home: it has immediately become my favorite restaurant.
So far I have tasted their fried food (frittatina, crocché and arancino), the margherita, their fried pizza (amazing) and pizza with nutella
All their dishes reflect the Neapolitan tradition and are full of flavor. I can't wait to try their pasta next time I stop by.
Super recommended!

We had a great experience at Pizza Luce visiting Toulouse from the USA. Max makes everything by hand and treated us very well. He actually bumped our order earlier in line without me asking so my little daughter would not have to wait hungry. I had the caprese. The pizza was really delicious, but it was the personal interaction, talking to Max about music and his life in racing that made it memorable. Also, his English is very good and he is patient if your French is weak.

Delicious pizza and calzones (we had take away). Service was great and friendly (offered us water while we waited). Definitely will be coming back here soon.
Tips for Choosing the Perfect Pizza in Toulouse
To make the most of your culinary journey through the Ville Rose, it helps to understand what separates a good pizza from a truly exceptional one. The local scene is competitive, and knowing a few insider details about ingredients and timing can significantly enhance your dining experience. Here are five essential tips to guide your selection and ensure you get the best slice possible every time.
- Look for Slow Fermentation: The secret to a digestible and flavorful crust lies in the dough. The best pizzerias in Toulouse ferment their dough for at least 24 to 48 hours. This process breaks down the gluten, making the pizza lighter and easier to digest, while developing a complex, slightly tangy flavor that quick-rise doughs simply cannot match.
- Prioritize DOP Ingredients: Authenticity often starts with the pantry. Seek out menus that explicitly mention DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) ingredients, such as San Marzano tomatoes from Campania or Mozzarella di Bufala Campana. If a restaurant is willing to pay for these imports, it is a strong indicator that they care about the final product.
- Check the Oven Temperature: A true Neapolitan pizza requires a wood-fired oven reaching temperatures of around 450°C (850°F). This intense heat cooks the pizza in 60 to 90 seconds, creating the signature charred crust and a soft, moist center. If you can see the oven, look for a live fire and a high dome.
- Don’t Overlook the "Al Taglio" Style: While round pizzas dominate, Roman-style pizza by the slice (al taglio) is a fantastic lunch option. Baked in rectangular trays, it features a highly hydrated, airy dough that is crispy on the bottom and soft inside. It is perfect for trying multiple toppings without committing to a full pie.
- Book Ahead for Peak Hours: Toulouse is a bustling student city, and the most popular pizzerias fill up quickly, especially from Thursday to Saturday night. Many of the smaller, artisanal spots have limited seating and limited dough. Calling ahead to reserve a table or placing a takeaway order early can save you from a long wait or disappointment.
Exploring the pizza scene in Toulouse is a rewarding experience that reflects the city’s broader commitment to gastronomy. Whether you are dining along the banks of the Garonne or in a lively neighborhood bistro, the dedication to craft is evident. Each pizzeria on this list brings something unique to the table, ensuring that the simple act of eating pizza becomes a memorable part of your time in the Pink City.
