Staying within a short stroll of the Catedral de Sevilla places you at the beating heart of Andalusia’s capital. The area surrounding the cathedral is a mesmerizing labyrinth of narrow cobblestone lanes, hidden plazas, and fragrant orange trees. Whether you are visiting to marvel at the Gothic architecture, explore the Real Alcázar, or simply soak up the atmosphere of the Santa Cruz quarter, your choice of accommodation can define your trip.
The immediate vicinity of the cathedral is not just a tourist hub; it is a living, breathing neighborhood with deep historical roots. Here, converted palaces sit next to modern boutique hotels, and traditional tapas bars hum with energy late into the night. Because this is one of the most pedestrian-friendly zones in the city, staying nearby means you can easily return to your room for a siesta or to drop off shopping bags.
However, the sheer volume of options can be overwhelming. From opulent five-star establishments housed in former noble houses to charming, budget-friendly hostales tucked away on side streets, there is something for every traveler. The key is finding a property that balances proximity to the sights with the comfort and quiet you need to rest after a long day of sightseeing.
Accessibility is a major factor when booking in this historic center. While many hotels are located on streets restricted to authorized vehicles, most are easily reachable by taxi or a short walk from the nearest drop-off point. Understanding the logistics of the old town will save you from hauling luggage over cobblestones unnecessarily.
The following guide highlights some of the best places to stay near the Giralda and the main cathedral doors. These selections prioritize quality, service, and location, ensuring that you are never more than a few minutes away from the breathtaking view of the world’s largest Gothic cathedral.
Choosing the right base allows you to experience the city’s magic early in the morning and late at night, when the day-trippers have gone. You will have the privilege of watching the sunset paint the cathedral walls gold and hearing the distant echo of horse carriages on the stone streets. It is an experience that turns a simple hotel stay into a core memory of your Spanish adventure.
To help you plan your stay, we have curated a list of the top accommodations in the immediate vicinity, ranging from luxurious retreats to intimate boutique hideaways.

Haven't stayed here yet. Will do in a couple of weeks. But I know John Fulton was a dear friend of mine, so I KNOW it's an awesome place. Have been here MANY MANY times during the 80's and 90's when it was his art studio. Can't wait to stay there.

Due to a technical issue with booking app, a double reservation for different hotels was made. This is not the hotel's fault of course, but as soon as we reached out to them to explain what happened, they declined refunding the money. This was a reservation made on midnight for the following day as in there was less than a few hours between making the reservation, and letting them know of the error. They of course didn't care and absolutely declined to refund it.
It's a really bad indication when a hotel chooses to treat errors as an opportunity to grab money...and really for a one night stay booked at the last minute. It's not like the hotel had to decline so many other potential guests.
What a shame. I could have chosen this hotel when I return to Seville for a longer stay, had they been more courtieus and decent!

Really a great hotel with a great service. Rooms, Cleaning, Taxiservice, everything perfect. Very lovely lady at the reception (Long dark hair with glasses) See arranged everything perfect. We booked a standard room but we get the Superieur room with street view. If you a lite sleeper, take some earplugs. Because the whole night people are busy in the street. Cleaning at 4pm....but it's worth it. No sketchy people on the street and felt very safe. Even in the night and small ally's. Also a nice roof terrace with nice bar guy....perfect for a drink in the evening with great view.

Lovely modern boutique hotel, right next to the Cathedral and other major tourist attractions. Plenty to do nearby. Highly recommend it. We only booked for B&B so cannot review the breakfast. May be a little noisy outside but it did not affect us much.

Excellent location and nice room.
Small roof pool, which is unfortunately not heated and there is very limited shade in the roof top area.
The even view from the roof top bar / pool area is lovely (behind the pool shower)

Unfortunately, I only stayed 1 night at Soho Boutique Catedral, but I wish I was able to have stayed longer. Rooms are beautifully furnished and modern, and our room had a charming view over the road and Cathedral. The staff were helpful and provided us with some places to visit during our short stay. Breakfast was brilliant with a large range of delicious fresh food.

Great location, perfect for walking everywhere. But it gets noisy at night, lots of shouting and partying. room amenities were lacking. Poor quality toiletries, no bedroom slippers etc.
Also staff isn’t honest. We wanted to book seats for a flamenco show we researched online, and staff lied that this isn’t authentic, and we would be forced to order dinner at this show. The moment he pulled out a flyer about “another flamenco show that is authentic”, we knew it wasn’t so and declined. Stuck to our original plan and it turned out to be amazing!

You cannot beat the location of this hotel. Everything you would want to visit in Seville is no more than a 15 minute walk away. It is tucked away in a small beautiful plaza filled with orange trees. Nice little hotel overlooking a beautiful
plaza. Staff were nice. One negative is No mini refrigerator in room. Another, Not the hotels fault but too many tour groups constantly filling plaza and are annoying. The city of Seville needs to regulate better. At one time there were four different groups in the plaza at the same time surrounding us while trying to enjoy a morning coffee. Still we enjoyed our stay and excellent location.

Apartamento Boutique Vida was a wonderful place to stay in the heart of Seville. The apartment was comfortable and ideally located within walking distance of many of the city's top attractions, excellent restaurants, and shopping areas.
Alejandro was a pleasure to work with throughout our stay. He was always accessible, quick to respond to any questions or requests, and consistently courteous and professional.
Guests should note that communications and check-in assistance are handled through the staff at the Halo Hotel, located just a minute's walk from the apartment. The hotel staff were equally friendly, helpful, and attentive, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable.
If you're planning a visit to Seville, I highly recommend considering Apartamento Boutique Vida. Its central location makes it an excellent base for exploring the city and immersing yourself in Seville's rich culture, history, and vibrant atmosphere.

A really lovely, friendly hotel. We loved the peaceful square outside, with shady orange trees in flower. The hotel is small and very personal, the staff are very helpful and friendly. Everything is close by and easy to walk to. I loved our room - it was on a corner with two windows and a tiny balcony. There were considerate little touches: a double adaptor in the power point by the bed, with an outlet free for your phone, a little stool in the bathroom, wifi password provided without asking.

Overall, good experience. We had some issues with our shower leaking water all over the floor in our bathroom, so if you stay in Rm 207 please beware that could happen; otherwise the room was great (see pic). The staff were extremely accommodating and welcoming, and the location was first class. It's right in the heart of the Santa Cruz district with that old Spanish flair and a beautiful courtyard right outside it's entrance (see pic). If you go, have breakfast right around the corner to your left as you exit at the courtyard restaurant. Tell Derek (pictured and one of the owners) I say hello.

Fantastic Hotel in a great location!
Joaquín was incredibly helpful and welcoming during our stay with recommendations from somewhere to watch the football, to places for breakfast and helping us find a gym to visit.
Hotel was easy to communicate with via WhatsApp and were able to sort our transfer out form the airport for us, they were very responsive too.
Location was right in heart of the old town about 3 minutes walk from the Real Alcázar and Cathedral, building was a haven to retreat to in the hot July summer, with air con and pool on the roof to take a break in the afternoon.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. Our room overlooked a lovely street lined with Tapas bars and bodegas. Buskers frequently work in the street and the music drifts up which was lovely. Can be a little noisy if you're a light sleeper but it's usually quiet around 11pm. It's literally right on the square of the cathedral and Giralda Tower. Could not fault the place, friendly and helpful staff, great room and comfy beds. Highly recommend.

We wished to have a cafe on the roof bar to see the Cathedral from up there.
We were not aware the bar opened at 1pm and we were there at 12.45 or something.
Eventhough the waiter already had a bad attitude, i asked him kindly in my best Spanish if we could wait right there these few minutes, enjoying the vista.
His reaction was as if i had asked him to cut off his hand.
He behaved with an ugly attitude and should find himself a job outside of the service industry.
The building inside lookes amazing. We were not staying in the hotel, this review is just about the horrible service in the roof bar of this hotel.

The entire draw for this hotel is location, which is fantastic
The rooms are basic, ours did not have any decoration on the wall, closets etc and no view
The bed was not comfortable. We did not sleep well.
It was very clean and room service did a great job every day.
There is a public space balcony on the fourth floor which is pleasant and has a limited view
They have a breakfast lounge with free tea and coffee in the morning

Honestly for the price and for 1 or 2 nights this hotel is totally efficient. The rooms aren’t amazing because there are no windows but apart from that I couldn’t complain because the price. On the photo you may see which room we booked (photo from the booking site) and the real photo of the room. A guy on the reception told us that the hotel is full and he can't change the room.
Since there is no window, there is no oxygen in the room. You may use air conditioner, but it will blow right on the beds, which is not good. Extremely noisy.
Be careful with your booking here.
No slippers, no toothpaste. Not that clean sheet (photo).
Yes, location is perfect.

The most wonderful and central place to stay for a 3 day visit! We were lucky enough to have a balcony room on the opposite side to the cathedral. It was still wonderful with gorgeous views of the little alleys and a lovely patio for relaxing in the afternoon sun. Comfortable and lovely bathtub! The rooftop bar was fun but after an initial drink we went exploring the tapas bars. The spa facilities were an added bonus and we loved the convenience of the location - we walked everywhere. Lovely staff who spoke English very well and were helpful regarding ticket bookings etc. Highly recommend.

5-Star Prices, Zero Responsibility. Left Me Without My Property for 3 Months.
We stayed at the EME Catedral Mercer in February. Upon checkout, items I had given to their ilaundry service 4 days previously had not been returned. What followed has been a 3-month saga of shocking incompetence and professional negligence.
The hotel staff managed to ship my luxury clothing (valued at over €600) to a completely random hotel in Paris. After weeks of tracking it down myself, the management team then shipped it from France to a completely wrong address and zip code in Italy. The package is now permanently lost in postal limbo.
Throughout this ordeal, Regional Manager Pablo López Zafra has been defensive, completely lacking empathy, and has officially refused any financial compensation. Head Office has completely ignored multiple letters. For a hotel claiming 5-star standards, their customer service and data handling are a disgrace. I have been forced to file formal complaints with the Andalusia Tourist Board (Junta de Andalucía) and consumer authorities. Avoid this hotel if you expect your property to be safe or your complaints to be treated with basic professional respect.

Unfortunately, our stay was deeply disappointing. One female receptionist made us feel particularly uncomfortable. I cannot say whether her attitude was motivated by racism, but the way she treated us felt dismissive and disrespectful. During check-in, she barely looked at us, appeared extremely impatient, and spoke in an unfriendly, condescending tone. Whenever we later saw her at reception, she looked visibly irritated, as though she might roll her eyes at any moment, which immediately made us feel unwelcome. The other staff members were perfectly fine, so this criticism is specifically about her conduct.
There were also serious problems with the room. The lights frequently would not switch on, yet on some nights they suddenly all came on after we had fallen asleep, waking us up. The room was also unbelievably noisy—it genuinely felt as though we were sleeping in the middle of a public square. Between the malfunctioning lights, constant noise and discourteous reception experience, it was extremely difficult to rest or feel comfortable here.

WORST Rooftop Service and kindness.
Sadly terrible!
I was in Sevilla with two other friends and it is Sunday afternoon. A beautiful day to enjoy a rooftop with drinks and a few tapas.
We decided to enjoy this moment, “in one of the best roof tops”, in Sevilla. ACCORDING TO GOOGLE.
We arrived in the hotel entrance and were advised to reach to the fourth floor, where the bar/rooftop is located.
The hotel is really beautiful and well located. Really charming. Our expectations were really high.
As soon as we reached the top floor and reached the bar, no one sat us down, so we decided to choose ourselves.
The bar was quite and only a table or two were taken. So, there was quite no work. Standards and great environment of service was highly expected, especially from a person that worked and has more than 10 years of experience in customer service.
One of the waiters didn’t say a word and just cleaned the table since it was DIRTY.
He left us there and went to take order to another table. No menu or whatsoever was given to us, I order for us to choose what we would like to have.
After 10 minutes aprox. I reached the bar myself to ask for a menu and ask for a few infos since no one has given any to me by that time.
The bartender responded to it but did not showed interested.
I returned to my table with the menus and as soon as I sat down, another group of people was sat in the table beside us. The waiter immediately sat them down with menu and QR codes.
This just showed how badly the service was being taken care of and how unprepared the staff are to work in “the best rooftop of Sevilla”.
When the waiter finally came to take our order, I advised him how my feelings were and why I would not stay.
So we left!
Dias de Coleção★☆☆☆☆
Very Disappointing Experience — Poor Service
I visited this rooftop in Sevilla with two friends, expecting a great experience, especially since it’s advertised as one of the best in the city. Unfortunately, it turned out to be very disappointing.
The hotel is beautiful and the location is excellent, which makes the lack of service even harder to understand.
When we arrived at the rooftop, no one welcomed us or showed us to a table, so we had to sit by ourselves. The place wasn’t busy at all, with only a few tables occupied.
A waiter came over, didn’t greet us, and simply cleaned our table because it was dirty. After that, he left without offering menus or any kind of attention.
We waited for quite some time without being served. One of my friends had to go to the bar to ask for menus, and even then, the response was indifferent.
What really stood out was that shortly after, another group arrived and was immediately welcomed, seated, and given menus and proper service — something that was never offered to us.
The difference in treatment was very noticeable and disappointing.
When the waiter finally approached us, we explained the situation and decided to leave, as the experience had already been ruined.
It’s a beautiful place, but unfortunately, the service does not match the reputation at all.

Fab hotel in an excellent location! Right by the Cathedral and walking distance to all main attractions. Staff were lovely. Would definitely stay again! The rooms were clean and comfortable.
The only downside was the aircon. The rooms/hotel seemed to be set to a certain temperature and couldn't be adjusted during our January visit, which was disappointing as we found it far too hot during the night. Couldn't sleep with the window open either as could hear the church bells regularly very early morning.

As a Eurostars member, I am disappointed to say that this was the worst hotel experience I have had.
The room had both ants and cockroaches. When I reported the issue, the staff attempted to address it by applying bleach, but the strong odor remained in the room and affected my breathing.
The food was also disappointing, with very limited variety and little flavor throughout my stay.
I have never stayed in a 4-star hotel with such conditions. The staff were courteous and genuinely tried to help whenever possible, but some of the issues were beyond their control and reflected broader problems with the property itself.
Unfortunately, this experience fell far below the standards I would expect from both a 4-star hotel and the Eurostars brand.

Modern rooms with good amenities (good lights, boiler for water, comfy bathroom), fantastic location relative to the big attractions in Seville, and strong WiFi.

This was one of the best places i've ever stayed in. The price is great! The location is right in the heart of Downtown seville and it is close to everything you need to visit in Seville. From the beginning of the experience you get a nice text from a personal concierge and she makes sure your stay is smooth. The contacless check in is great and they even allow you to keep your bags until your room is ready or whenever you leave to go. The rooms are impeccible and it has amazing views. You do not want to miss!

This hotel engages in manipulative and dishonest practices. The room we were given had visible mold around the windows and behind the closet - serious hygiene issues that we documented with photos below.
When we reported this, staff did not offer us another room as they now claim. The only “solution” proposed was a cleaning the next morning, which would not have addressed the mold itself.
My wife has respiratory problems and she couldn't stop coughing and we had to find another accommodation and asked to charge us the 1 day since we entered to room, but refund the remaining 2 nights. After contacting the hotel and booking customer service, the request was rejected and the hotel tried to rewrite the situation, insisting there was no mold and falsely stating we refused a room change.
This kind of gaslighting is unacceptable. Our decision to leave was not “personal preference” but a direct response to unsafe and unsanitary conditions. The hotel’s attempt to deny reality and shift blame onto guests shows a disturbing lack of accountability.
We strongly advise others to avoid this property.

Can't fault Cathedral Boutique. Stayed with a larger group and from self check in to leaving we had no issues. The location is one of the best in Old Town Seville! The Cathedral is literally outside the front door, Real Alcazar around the corner, Plaza de Espana a short walk away, The Torno nunnery for their beautiful hand made sweets minutes away, Want a river walk only a few minutes away the list is endless!!! If you want it, it's right next to it or a very short walk. Monica looked after us with recommendations for restaurants in the area as well which were all really good. The rooms are clean the beds are incredibly comfortable. For a 2 star hotel it probably one of the best places I have stayed. Considering you will spend 90% of your time exploring the city the remaining 10% will be spent in 100% comfort! I highly recommend Cathedral Boutique for anyone visiting Seville.

I discovered Hotel Simon in an old travel guide. What a surprise! You can’t get a better location, with the cathedral and palace within just a few yards. An authentic, charming hotel with a beautifully traditional interior. The room was quiet, comfortable and spacious. We both had some of the best nights sleep of our lives! The bathroom was very beautiful (please don’t ever modernise it). Our stay was made even better by the reception and housekeeping staff, who were friendly, professional and very kind. Very nice hotel .... Morocco Spanish feel to the building . Very clean and fresh towels every day . Reception desk very nice and helpful. A very nice bar straight across the road from the hotel..... Perfect .

This place was great and centrally located- a minute or two walk to the cathedral and everything else. There's even a coin-op laundry around the corner. Other than that, they had everything that i was looking for in a place other than location-hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner, soap, hand soap.

Our stay at Puerto Catedral was a memorable one. The apartment is simply incredible and the views are breathtaking. The location is perfect as you can walk to all the attractions and hundreds of restaurants/bars. But the best part was communication with the hosts. They were always courteous and replied within seconds of our messages. Allowed us to check-in early and never made us feel rushed even though we were delayed by a few min at the checkout time.

Our hosts were easily reachable and answered questions in a very timely manner. The suite was very clean, no detail left behind! Walking distance to most sites, tons of restaurants and shops at your door step. Highly recommend this property for your next visit to Seville!!

In March 2026, our family of four (two adults + two teenagers) enjoyed a lovely stay in the 5th floor apartment. The apartment was spacious, clean, and well appointed. The location also cannot be beat. The staff were communicative and helpful in response to our questions and requests.

We only stayed one night as we were in Seville for a concert. The room was very clean and comfortable with access to two beautiful patio areas so very nice to enjoy a coffee. In the reception they had a kitchenette with fresh fruit, cereal, cold drinks and coffee for free which I thought was a fantastic touch. A lift or stairs were available also. They contacted me the day before we arrived to check our room could be ready and it was even though we were early to their regular check in time. Staff all lovely and could answer any questions or recommendations. The reception is unmanned through the night but you are given a code to access from outside. Location fantastic. We will definitely stay again when next in this beautiful city!

Nice staff and cute and cozy hotel. The location is great, a little walk from the beautiful cathedral, but the also made it very noisy on the street, even with the windows shut. It was ok clean, a few tiles were loose on the floor, there were some stains on the walls, and we found a few hairs on one of the bed, but other than that it was fine. Also the mattresses were not very comfortable and the sheets were scratchy. I guess a good value for the price.

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of May and had an extraordinary experience. The hotel was comfortable, clean and very close to the city center. From the terrace, it's possible to admire the Cathedral and the Giralda.
We were welcomed by Francisco, an amazing expert on the city of Sevilla, who gave us the wonderful opportunity to discover both the local and the tourist spots of the city. He guided us through the streets of Sevilla for three days — we ended up walking 56.000 steps!
We visited the entire Casco Antiguo and by the end of the trip we were already wishing to come back and spend many more days — or even weeks — exploring every corner of this beautiful city, which truly deserves to be experienced!

Overall we had a good stay - the location is perfect and the free drinks and cereal at the front were a nice touch. However our room was very loud due to street noise, making it difficult to sleep at night, so I'm docking one star. Bed was comfortable and shower was hot.

My husband did a booking at the hotel, unfortunately a few days before the travel our 17 month old child got an accident and two fingers got broken so we couldnt travel. We cancelled the booking, and we understood that we will not get back the money. We asked the hotel to give us any alternative days next year when we can return. Unfortunately they were not flexible at all. I think with a such case, an accident of a child this should be the minimum to be understanding. We didnt ask the money back, we really wanted to travel to Sevilla, because this is one of our favourite city, as my husband proposed me there exactly 3 years ago and now we wanted to return with our child. But its not possible...neither in the future because of lack of understanding and flexibility.
Tips for Choosing the Perfect Stay Near the Cathedral
Selecting the right hotel in Seville’s historic center requires a bit more thought than simply picking a star rating. The unique urban layout, with its narrow streets and restricted traffic zones, means that location nuances can significantly impact your comfort. By keeping a few practical considerations in mind, you can avoid common pitfalls and ensure your stay is as seamless as possible. Here are some expert tips to guide your booking decision.
Consider the Noise Levels
Seville is a city that comes alive at night, especially in the streets surrounding the cathedral. While being in the center is exciting, rooms facing popular tapas streets or plazas can be noisy until the early hours. If you are a light sleeper, prioritize hotels that advertise soundproofed windows or request an interior-facing room to ensure a peaceful night’s rest.
Check Luggage Accessibility
Many of the roads directly adjacent to the cathedral are pedestrianized or have restricted access for non-resident vehicles. Before booking, check the hotel’s exact address and read their arrival instructions. Most reputable hotels will provide a map or coordinate with taxi drivers to drop you at the nearest legal access point, but knowing this in advance prevents a stressful arrival in the Andalusian heat.
Look for Rooftop Views
One of the greatest amenities a hotel in this area can offer is a rooftop terrace with a view of the Giralda. Even if you book a standard room, having access to a communal terrace allows you to enjoy the skyline without paying for a premium suite. This is often the perfect spot for a morning coffee or an evening glass of sherry.
Prioritize Climate Control
Seville is known as the "frying pan of Europe" for a reason. Summer temperatures frequently exceed 40°C (104°F). Ensure that your chosen hotel offers modern, efficient air conditioning. While historic buildings are beautiful, some older properties may have weaker climate control systems, which can make a summer stay uncomfortable.
Book Parking in Advance
If you are on a road trip through Andalusia, driving into the heart of Seville can be challenging. Very few hotels in the immediate cathedral area have private parking due to the historic architecture. If you need a car, look for hotels that have partnerships with nearby public parking garages, and book your space ahead of time to secure a discounted rate.
Wandering out of your hotel and immediately finding yourself face-to-face with the intricate stonework of the Catedral de Sevilla is an unmatched travel experience. By selecting accommodation that aligns with your travel style—whether that means indulging in a converted palace or finding a quiet, minimalist room—you set the stage for a truly immersive visit. No matter which of these exceptional properties you choose, you will be perfectly positioned to unlock the magic of Seville, one tapas bar and moonlit stroll at a time.
