After a morning spent wandering the whimsical mosaics and undulating pathways of Park Güell, an appetite inevitably follows. The vibrant neighborhood of Gràcia and its surrounding streets offer a fantastic culinary landscape, far removed from the generic tourist traps. Finding a spot to enjoy authentic Spanish small plates is one of the best ways to transition from sightseeing to living like a local.
The area surrounding the park is a tapestry of traditional bodegas, modern gastrobars, and family-run establishments that have perfected the art of the tapa. Whether you are looking for a quick bite of jamón ibérico or a leisurely afternoon of patatas bravas and vermouth, the options are plentiful. The key is knowing which doors to walk through to get the best quality and atmosphere.
We have curated a list of the ten best tapas bars located within walking distance of Gaudí’s famous park. These selections prioritize authentic cooking, quality ingredients, and the distinct character that makes Barcelona’s bar culture so special. You won’t find microwave reheated tourist menus here, only genuine hospitality and delicious food.
This guide focuses on venues that offer a true taste of Catalan and Spanish cuisine. From bustling counters where you order with a ticket and a pencil to sit-down terraces with views of the district, there is a spot for every type of traveler. Prepare to navigate the narrow streets of El Coll and La Salut to discover these local gems.
Most of these establishments get busy during the traditional Spanish lunch hour (1:30 PM to 3:30 PM) and dinner time (8:30 PM onwards). Arriving early or being patient is part of the experience. Remember that tapas are meant to be shared and savored slowly, usually accompanied by a cold caña (small beer) or a glass of local wine.
Below, you will find our top picks for the best tapas experiences near the park, followed by essential tips to help you navigate the local dining scene like a pro.

Visited Las Tapas de Güell for a light lunch near Park Güell las week. The place is not impressive and the food just ok, but the staff although a bit slow were very friendly. I like that they offer the traditional food that a visitor may want to try like the patatas bravas, pan con tomate, croquetas and gambas al ajillo. The sangria was cold and delicious and the prices very reasonable. I would recommend it for a casual meal when in Barcelona 👍🏽

As for the outdoor tables, it’s quite pleasant to sit there—it has a nice, touristy vibe. When it comes to the food, though, my skewers tasted like they were made the day before, and they were cold. The seafood was nothing special; you might as well buy frozen stuff from the store, make it at home, and you wouldn't notice the difference. A lunch like this for two people with a beer came out to over €50. Nothing to write home about if you ask me, but that’s just how it is with places right next to tourist attractions. I wouldn't come back a second time.
Mika★☆☆☆☆
Don't go there. My first thought after we ate was to write this review asap.
We wanted to visit Gaudí's Park Güell and decided to eat in this restaurant since it's very close, but we were unpleasantly surprised.
Sitting down, we already noticed how clearly overwhelmed the staff was with the amount of people inside and outside the restaurant. We waited a long time for the menu.
When we finally ordered, the waitress didn't understand a word of English. Yes, we're in Spain, I would've understood that if we were in a small town, but I'd expect the staff in a restaurant close to a tourist attraction to speak at least basic English. In the end we got 2 drinks we didn't order.
The food and drinks were underwhelming. Small portions, the smoothie I got tasted weird and not like a smoothie at all, more like a watery juice, the sandwiches were dry, and the crêpe I ordered was NOTHING like an actual crêpe. It was burnt on the edge, the texture was tough and leathery, the chocolate inside was slightly burnt as well, and the crêpe size was absolutely ridiculous. It was tiny!
On top of that, the music was deafening and made us feel like we were in a club because of all the remixes in the playlist (I'm not talking about good remixes here). We had to repeat ourselves multiple times.
Personally, this is one of the worst restaurants I've been at. You could have a better experience somewhere else.
Gábor Szabó★☆☆☆☆
Man, I love that city mainly because its cuisine. We were hungry after Park Guell, thought for a beer and bravas that will be OK. I know that is not a Michelin star place, didn’t want to have the best service in town. Food cold, you need to repeat your order 2-4x times, wait 45 minutes to get something else. Staff is totally not in the mood, clearly visible they don’t care. If you are hungry it is OK, food is mirelit. Worth to walk down a bit and have normal service for your money.
Andrei Leppik★☆☆☆☆
Terrible food and service. All dishes are full of oil, even gazpacho.
Hake was good but full of oil. Dump! It was grilled! Why so much oil?!
Sangria is also terrible but very expensive.
Yeah, it's the first restaurant after Guell, but just walk some 10 minutes more and you will find a lot of good restaurants.

We had a marvelous time in this nice little tavern on our way back from Park Güell. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and the tapas and sandwiches were absolutely delicious. It was our first time trying vermouth and it was also very tasty! Do give this amazing place a visit!
Catherine Smith★★★★★
This little local gem serves some of the best tapas we have had in Spain so far. The service was outstanding, and considering we don’t speak Spanish the staff were so accommodating. We even enjoyed a complimentary shot at the end of the night. Would definitely recommend this bar.
Andrew Booth★★★★★
Great tapas bar just a 10 minute walk from Parc Guell. Everything we ate was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Friendly staff and cold beer. Only a small place so best to arrive early for lunch if you want a table.

One of the greatest places I have ever been to in Barcelona. The food was spectacular and the atmosphere was unforgettable. Carla, the owner, was incredibly welcoming, super fun, lovely, and made the whole experience even more special.

One of my favorite spots in Barcelona so far! I stopped in for a vermouth and a couple of tapas, and everything was excellent. Sarah was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable—her recommendations were spot-on, and I truly loved them. Plus, her English was fantastic, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The perfect place for amazing tapas in Barcelona!
If you’re looking for an authentic tapas experience in Barcelona, Sagrada Tapas is an absolute must-visit. Conveniently located just a short walk from the iconic Sagrada Família, it’s the perfect place to enjoy delicious food after exploring one of the city’s most famous landmarks.
From the first dish to the last, everything was outstanding. Every tapa was freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and full of authentic local flavors. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the passion that goes into every plate.
The homemade sangria was absolutely fantastic—refreshing, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the meal. Every bite and every sip reflected the rich culinary traditions of Barcelona.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was friendly and attentive, and the entire dining experience exceeded our expectations.
We highly recommend Sagrada Tapas to anyone who wants to enjoy some of the best tapas in Barcelona in a fantastic location, just moments from the Sagrada Família. Without a doubt, this was one of the highlights of our trip.
10/10 – we would definitely come back!
CH Lee★★★☆☆
The waiter that served us didn’t speak English well. The food was served fairly quick, although nothing exceptional… Paella was mediocre, the middle of the rice wasn’t cooked through, the baby squid and beef cube could be nice with some seasoning, I doubt there’s even salt in it. The outside of beef is a bit too chewy, but the steamed mussels and Catalan sausage were really good. Mussels was fresh and nicely seasoned with maybe some garlic butter, on the other hand the flavour and texture of the Catalan sausage was impressive!
Anna Wiergowska★★★★★
An excellent dining experience in Barcelona! The food was absolutely delicious – every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We especially enjoyed the croquettes, meatballs in sauce, and the goat cheese salad. The tapas were full of authentic taste and clearly prepared with care.
The service was equally outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout our visit.
If you're looking for great food, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service in Barcelona, this place is definitely worth a visit.

The place is cozy and easy to find. The seafood paella is amazing. I love how they have the portion for one for solo travelers (most places in barcelona requires minimum 2 people) Sangria de vino is one of the best in town!! Really recommend. I also get a Bailey shot for dessert, truly cute and thoughtful.
Will return again for sure💖

A fantastic spot to escape the chaos of La Rambla! If you're looking to get away from the overly touristy atmosphere (and the major construction currently taking place along La Rambla), this is the perfect place. It's tucked just far enough away to offer a much more relaxed and authentic experience while still being right in the heart of Barcelona.
The tapas were excellent. The pan con tomate was simple yet perfectly prepared, the fried chipirones were crispy and flavorful, the tortilla de patatas was wonderfully soft and comforting, and the cheese plate was delicious. Everything was reasonably priced, especially considering the location.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was friendly and efficient. A great place to enjoy authentic Spanish tapas away from the tourist traps. Highly recommended!
Robert Dahlström★★★★★
We had a nice experience here in Güell tapas. The waitress we had was really good and the tomato bread was one of the best I’ve had. The skirt steak was savory and good and the seafood paella was very nice too. The Crema catalana didn’t taste that much unfortunately, but all in all it was a great dinner.
E Scott Parks★★★★★
Güell Tapas leans into classic Spanish staples without overcomplicating them. The menu reads like a greatest hits list: tortilla española, croquetas, albóndigas, patatas bravas, pan con tomate, crema catalana. It’s traditional, recognizable, and clearly aimed at giving visitors a broad taste of Spain in one sitting.
We ordered across the spectrum. The tortilla was thick and satisfying, properly set without being dry. The croquetas arrived crisp and golden, with creamy centers that actually justified the hype. The albóndigas came in a rich tomato-based sauce, hearty and comforting. Pan con tomate had that essential char and olive oil sheen that makes something so simple feel essential rather than basic. Even the patatas bravas, topped generously with sauce and aioli, held their crunch.
It’s not avant-garde dining. It’s solid, crowd-pleasing tapas in a city that knows exactly what it’s doing with potatoes, bread, and cured flavors. After flamenco and a full Rambla circuit, it felt like the right kind of table to land at. Familiar dishes, well executed, no drama needed.
Bianca Souza★★★★★
We absolutely loved this place. A guy at our hotel told us about it and we went for lunch, but it was so delicious that we went back for dinner as well. Great service and even better food. Everything came out amazing and fast! We are very pleased. Its definitely a hidden gem in the busy Barcelona.

Me and my family went here before visiting the park, the food was great and the atmosphere was straight out of a movie. The customer service was great even with the language barrier.
The food was delicious and didnt take too long to prepare, the drinks were also very flavourful.
We came back a short while after eating there, hence me and my mom’s phones were dying. The bartender handed us a portable battery to take to our table with cables for both of us. Sadly we forgot to tip him but it was fully a wonderful experience which we wont forget!
Andrew Bilukha★★★★★
We ended up here after a visit to a park. We’ve had such a great time having an octopus with mashed potatoes, with some steamed mussels and tomato sauce, and pasta with carbonara sauce for our daughter. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Cold fresh beer of three kinds - Estrella, Turia. Try a dessert made by a mother of the owner of the restaurant. We will definitely come here again. Oh, and a fresh local newspaper!!!
LM G (Live My Goldilock)★★★★★
We arrived at Park Guell 2 hours before our reservation and were hungry. I read the reviews of Vermouth & Roll and wanted to try this place. I was so glad we did. The atmosphere was nice and the foods were delicious with affordable prices. The paella tasted much better than we had a night before at the Catedra Restaurant. This was my 2nd time had paella in Barcelona. The pork cheek was melted in my mouth. I even ordered a cappuccino and it was great. Definitely recommend if you’re going to the park. Nice family owned cafe.
Richárd Bogdán★★★★★
We had a very delightful brunch after visiting Park Guell - it was a great little place to enjoy ourselves!
We can especially recommend the pulpo and the BBQ ribs - delicious!
Juan-Facundo Le Rose★☆☆☆☆
Very bad food at my food choice, I ordered a beef with garlic potatoes, I became clumped steak with chips, the plate was full oiled. I couldn’t communicate with the service worker, they don’t understand, what im saying. The toilet water was broken, then I couldn’t wash my hands. One person from my group ordered a Salomon. The Salomon wasn’t cooked fully, the rules of restaurant should be clarified for the Rule of HACCP. And this restaurant wasn’t a great idea for families, date and for something. I hope, in next time will the restaurant been changed.

This restaurant was fantastic. We were a group of 6, they took great care of us. The sangria was delicious. Two of us had salmon which was very flavorful. The Beef tenderloin was moist and melted in your mouth. The appetizer with cheese and chorizo and the desserts, ice cream, creme brulee and a rum cake, I cant tell you which was the best because they were all so good. We spent about 2 hours there and it was a great experience.
Firdaousse Ouknider★★★★☆
Had a lovely dinner with truffle ravioli starter and duck confit main. Enjoyed the first a lot, the second a little less: not as confit or as seasoned as I'd like. Still, enjoyed the service and the atmosphere. Though be ready for some noise as the terrace is by a vehicle-busy street.
Keith Landers★★★★★
Excellent food, excellent service. Everyone loved their meals, highly distinct with a lot of flavor. You definitely should try this place.

Very nice Italian restaurant, nice atmosphere, very polite staff and delicious and decently priced food.
Had a properly sizzling tomahawk steak - definitely something a lot of steakhouses could learn from, and a delicious rum baba for dessert.
Definitely stop by if you’re around parc guell.

We found this luckily by chance as we went to the park. Lovely chilled atmosphere beautiful evening with beautiful Food. Prices were very reasonable and also the sangria was so tasty. The walk up here was well worth it

Cute and classy spot right by the east exit of Park Güell, and super convenient with the bus/metro stop nearby to get back to the city center.
The paella is fire 🔥, and the bread with tomato plus Catalan ham is just chef’s kiss.
Friendly staff, chill vibes — definitely recommended.

Good break for lunch after the hike. Las Delicias is de place. Ordered the chicken fritters, cod fritters, black rice, and pork cheek. All good, pork cheek is a bit hard for us to crunch. But flavouring is sufficient. We paired our meal with Turia beer and the Espresso+rum+cream, and the brownie with ice-cream. Overall satisfaction.

This was not a great meal BUT the staff was soooo friendly and kind, I’m still happy we ate here. They were accommodating to us with the language and the sweet server even offered our daughter her own jacket when our daughter was chilly outside. The oxtail croquetas were our favorite!

So so homey and the portion/price ratio amazing. Cheap and strong drinks. The lady running/serving the place is so sweet. Not crowded, very local.

We randomly stopped at this little bar on our walk to the metro from Park Guell. The food was delicious and super reasonably priced. We were stayed closer to the beach on this trip and this was a breath of fresh air from the more touristy restaurants. We had paella, mushrooms with garlic and bread with grated tomato. We also had the flan, tinto de verano and calimocho. It was their perfect place to try a lot of the classic Spanish food as a tourist. I would go again!!!
Patrycja Jakóbiak★★★☆☆
- Trinxat de la Cerdanya – tasted like watery mashed potatoes and sat uncomfortably on the stomach.
- Bikini sandwich – an ordinary sandwich, not bad but nothing memorable.
Good spot for coffee, but the food was quite basic and not very enjoyable. We visited in the morning, so perhaps the evening menu is better. The only menu we could see was a board on the table, and the choices didn’t look very exciting.

The main reason I wanted to visit this place was to try the patatas bravas, and they definitely lived up to the hype, they were delicious! The server was friendly and welcoming, and happily served the sauces on the side when we asked. I also really liked the overall vibe of the restaurant. My only downside was that it was quite noisy, and it felt too hot inside, even with indoor seating. Other than that, it was a great experience.

You know those little hole in the wall places that you accidentally stumble upon? This is one that you have to find! A limited tapas menu, but the Hummus and the Spaghetti Zucchini with pesto and walnuts were both very good. So much so that we returned for a second day to get them again. On day two we noticed that they have a little service window serving customers on the sidewalk. Absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area.
I almost forgot... Excellent musical selections if you're into '70s jam bands and similar styles.
Emily Conjura★★★★★
After visiting Park Güell my daughter and I found this Bodega given its proximity to the park and its Google Reviews. I have been travelling through Europe for a month and this was the best meal that I've eaten at a restaurant. I ate the zucchini noodles with pesto, a salad with apples/raisins/walnuts and the vegan truffles for dessert. I can't recommend this place enough. They have an English menu and the owners speak English to help with ordering. If you are in the area and you like to eat clean, this is the place for you!

Local Tips for Enjoying Tapas Near Park Güell
Navigating the culinary scene in Barcelona requires a bit of local knowledge to ensure you get the most out of your meal. The rhythm of the city and the etiquette of the bars can differ significantly from other parts of the world. Understanding these nuances will help you order confidently and enjoy the experience to the fullest.
Embrace the Late Lunch: While you might be hungry at noon after visiting the park, many kitchens don’t open until 1:00 PM. Use the time to explore the local shops or grab a coffee, then head to the bar when the locals do.
Look for the Daily Specials: Many traditional bars offer a "menú del día" at lunch, but for tapas, look for chalkboards advertising "plat del dia" or seasonal specials. These often feature the freshest market ingredients and are usually the best thing on the menu.
Order in Stages: Don’t order everything at once. Start with a couple of cold items like pan con tomate or olives, then order hot tapas as you go. This prevents the food from getting cold and allows you to gauge your appetite.
Stand at the Bar vs. Table: In many traditional spots, prices are cheaper if you stand at the bar or sit on a stool rather than taking an outdoor table. If you are on a budget and want the authentic atmosphere, elbow your way to the counter.
Try the House Vermouth: Before wine or beer, consider ordering a "vermut" (vermouth). It is a deeply rooted Catalan tradition, especially on weekends. Served over ice with an orange slice and an olive, it pairs perfectly with salty, fried tapas.
Payment and Tipping: In casual tapas bars, you usually pay at the counter or ask for the bill ("la cuenta, por favor") at your table. Tipping is not obligatory in Spain; leaving a few coins of loose change (5-10%) for exceptional service is appreciated but never expected.
The streets surrounding Park Güell hold a culinary wealth that rewards the curious traveler. By stepping just a few blocks away from the main entrance, you can find yourself surrounded by the clinking of glasses and the aroma of sizzling garlic. It is here that the true spirit of Barcelona reveals itself, one small plate at a time.
Whether you choose a historic bodega or a modern kitchen, the focus remains the same: good company and excellent food. Take your time, try something new, and enjoy the lively atmosphere that defines this unique corner of the city.
