Palma de Mallorca has long moved beyond its reputation as just a sun-and-sand destination. The capital of the Balearic Islands has evolved into a genuinely exciting culinary hub, and nowhere is that more apparent than in its specialty coffee scene. From tucked-away courtyards in the old town to sleek, minimalist spaces in the Santa Catalina district, the city is brimming with passionate baristas and roasters who take their craft seriously.
For years, finding a proper flat white or a meticulously poured V60 in Palma was a challenge. Today, the landscape has changed dramatically, driven by a wave of local entrepreneurs and international transplants who have brought global coffee standards to the island. This means visitors and residents alike can now enjoy exceptional single-origin beans, alternative milks, and innovative brunch menus alongside traditional Spanish café con leche.
The best coffee shops in Palma are not just about the caffeine fix. They are social spaces, design showcases, and community hubs where locals linger over laptops and friends catch up on terraces. Whether you are hunting for the perfect espresso, a creamy cold brew, or a cozy spot to escape the Mediterranean heat, the city offers an impressive variety of atmospheres.
Navigating the narrow, winding streets of Palma’s historic center can be overwhelming, especially when you are in desperate need of a morning pick-me-up. That is why we have done the legwork for you, sampling the roasts and testing the pastries to bring you a curated guide to the city’s finest coffee destinations.
This guide focuses on quality, consistency, and atmosphere. We have prioritized establishments that source their beans ethically, train their staff rigorously, and contribute positively to the local community. You will find a mix of established favorites that have defined the scene and newer spots that are pushing the boundaries of coffee culture.
From hidden gems serving natural wines by night to bright, airy spaces perfect for remote work, there is a cup for every palate. Prepare to explore the aromatic, vibrant, and endlessly delicious world of specialty coffee in Palma.
Whether you are a digital nomad seeking reliable Wi-Fi, a tourist wanting a taste of local life, or a coffee purist chasing the perfect extraction, this list has you covered. These are the places where the coffee is treated with respect and the customer is treated like a neighbor.

Another fantastic spot we visited when in Mallorca was Nano coffee lab, tucked away in a quiet little lane just off avenue de Jaume III its the perfect spot if you need a caffine fix, makes it a real hidden gem.
The shop is tiny, with a sleek, modern interior featuring green and wood tones. There are only a few seats inside and a small wooden bench outside, making it more of an intimate "coffee bar" than a traditional lounge café.
a minimalist, pint-sized space that prioritizes the craft of coffee over large-scale seating.
We decided to grab and go and enjoy the early morning stillness of the city. Flat white in hand, it was the perfect match for a city stroll and pick me up to get the day started

+20 countries later I’ve found the best cortado 🤍🇪🇸
The beans of the week were a Colombian co-ferment with florals that mimicked what an Ethiopian blend would be. Literally perfectly balanced flavor, perfect temp, great ceramic mugs, great vibes from the staff - Everything was done with intention, loved this place and can’t wait to be back next time I’m in Mallorca.
9.9/10 : Cortado rating
Gracias!🙏🏼

I searched for the best coffee shops in Palma and this came up on the list. First of all, I do agree that dining in can be a challenge as they have very limited seating capacity. I understand that it's not the owner's fault but if you do want to drink your coffee here do not go during peak hours. Second, I did not notice that customers cannot use their toilet. Again, I apologize to the owner! But I do think that that can be improve? Next, their coffee is really great! It seems like they're using high quality beans and even gave me the Espresso menu for that day. I ordered a flat white and a pistachio cookie. Oh boy, both were good! The cookie really complemented my coffee. It is very obvious that the owners are passionate about what they do.
If I can come back to Palma I
l will definitely come back here as well. Many thanks!

Best coffee we found in Palma. The passion they have for great coffee is very clear. Really quick service, order at the bar, bring to the table. There are only a few seats, but people coming and going. Great pitstop for a coffee while shopping in Palma.

Best coffee in town! I found this place 4 years ago, and since then I have always visit Nanø (Nano) when in Palma! They have great coffee and matcha! They also have small snacks and cakes, and coffee/equipment you can buy to bring home.
The place is small, so if you get seating you’re lucky. But it’s worth going by here to get an ice coffee/matcha (or hot) and bring on your way to do some sightseeing or shopping. We’ll be back next time we come to Mallorca!

Cute coffee shop in the city center of Palma. The food was delicious as well as coffee. Guy roast beans themselves and so there are so many bean types to choose from.
Guys were very friendly and hospitable.
We had been waiting may be 10-15 min but it was definitely worth it.

I really enjoyed my visit to this specialty coffee shop in Palma. The host was wonderful—warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about coffee. The coffee itself was delicious, carefully prepared, and full of flavor. If you’re looking for true specialty coffee in Palma, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended! They sell beans too!!

I visited this authentic coffee shop today, and the quality of the coffee was excellent. The pastries and food were unique and delicious, it felt like everything had been made by a special chef with a very refined and distinctive taste.
I also loved the atmosphere and the warm, welcoming host. The coffee shop displayed a collection of illustrated artworks on the walls, and even the coffee bean packages for sale were decorated with paintings by the same artist.
As a painter, I really enjoyed this artistic touch. It made the whole experience feel even more special and memorable.

Café Americano the way it needs to be served! For a long time I have been looking for a good coffee place that really understands how to prepare the specialities instead of just seeing good overturn in a basic product. I'm amazed by the taste, presentation and details. Also, the pistachio cheesecake is outstanding. This is a very good place if you want to enjoy good quality, simple things. In my opinion, this shop enriches Palma in terms of high quality hospitality. Thanks guys!

A very nice little cafe for a meal! Lots of sweets to choose from, good prices, and tasty food. The owner is very nice, as well. The street is quite busy in the morning, and there is no bike lane, so the sidewalk is a bit of a battle zone, especially with the next door sunken parking area. Good coffee and a nice environment overall!

Found this place while looking for decent coffee in Palma and it’s a cute little hole in the wall, if it wasn’t very busy we would have walked right past.
My boyfriend really loved their coffee we ended up going twice as he said it was really good.
The matcha was also nice but could be a little bit stronger.
Hopefully next time we come back they’ll have more seating areas available outside especially on a sunny day 😊

cute new gem in Palma. In a calm sideway.
Baristas were super friendly and attentive.
They rotate their beans and work with various speciality coffee roasters from all over. I got lucky and my flat white was with beans from La Cabra. Loved it and will come back!

These Guys Have my Heart. Amazing coffe & know how! I used to do my barista cours with flatwhite coffee (the owners brand & instagram name) & couldnt be more thrilled that they have their own place! Coffe & Analog Fotography! They offer amazing homemade sweets and sandwiches, coffe, matcha, special fermented kombuchas & lots of film and disposable cameras & other useful things. I really recommend to go there if you like authenticity, heartwarming smiles & amazing coffe! You definitely leave this place as their friends!

This was the closest coffee place to our hotel. This is how it made it into my list of places to try while in Palma. Loved everything about this little gem. A hole in a wall, but two beautiful young people making incredible coffee. I had a latte and a slice of lemon cake, my mom went for a flat white. She said that gets was not quite as hot as she would have liked and I somewhat second her notion. That being said I understand that you "burn" the coffee otherwise so that is forgiven. I really liked the acidity of the bean and it's not overpowering nature. Well done coffee, please check them out.

Amazing coffee and the owner is a vibe. They sell a few film cameras as well. Cool modern concept. Got a cappuccino and a flat white- beans are from La cabra and both were delicious.
If you are a millennial New Yorker like myself- the coffee and its aesthetic will feel just like home but better!!

Absolutely loved this little spot in Palma🤍 Such a peaceful café tucked away in one of the beautiful narrow streets. The atmosphere is so calm and cozy, and sweets looked amazing.
What made the experience extra special was the man working there. I asked for pancakes and at first he told me they couldn’t make them anymore, but after giving me the menu he changed his mind and said, “Actually, I’ll make them for you.” 🥹 Literally the sweetest gesture. He was SO kind, and genuine. It’s those little acts of kindness that make you remember a place💫
Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and the loveliest service. Definitely one of those hidden little gems in Palma🤍

Excellent coffee and a wonderful experience overall. We decided to stop by based on the positive reviews, and it certainly lived up to our expectations. Although the shop is small, it offers truly exceptional coffee. I highly recommend the espresso made with Puchero beans, which has a distinctive acidity and an excellent, well-balanced flavor profile.
On a separate note, we unfortunately witnessed someone leaving without paying, which was disappointing to see. The owner mentioned that this is, sadly, something that happens from time to time. I would encourage all visitors to be respectful and support local businesses by paying fairly for the excellent service and quality they provide.

Swung by after a long cycling session and it was exactly what we needed. This incredible little owner-run spot delivers on every level, the Dirty Chai and banana bread are hands down the best I’ve had. What started as a quick coffee stop turned into a full experience. It was so good we had to come back the next day for more. If you’re anywhere in the area, ACCO is an absolute must-visit.

Acco is hands down the best coffee you’ll find in Palma. Tucked away in a cute little spot in the heart of the old town. The owner and barista has a deep understanding and genuine passion for specialty coffee and is always up for a great chat about it.

Save for your next visit to Palma
This is an outstanding grab and go coffee spot in Palma, Mallorca.
It may be a small store but it packs in a mighty caffeine hit.
The staff are so friendly, we arrived before opening one day and they allowed us to make use of the the little postcode machine. It was on my list to go back for ciffee but we didn't make it back that day, so I made sure we went back another day to pick up our caffeine fix, and it was a great pick me up, iced latte with caramel 😊
And even though its small, it aesthetically pleasing, it is an absolute vibe of a spot
You can also pick up a suprise 1€ postcards print souvenir
I will 100% return again when we visit in July.

Cute little corner cafe with about space for 4-5 pax outside. Unfortunately we were given a to go cup whilst the next customers got a beautiful ceramic cup. Price relatively steep but both the chai latte and smoothie were good in taste.

A cosy and well-located place with kind and friendly baristas, especially Lucas. I was stunned by how well he speaks english as you rarely see that on this island. Every question I had, he answered with fluency and smile on his face. Definitely recommend visiting this place, not only for the amazing coffee but also for the atmosphere they create here.

Decent matcha latte and delicious pistachio latte, but both a little overpriced. No places to sit but benches nearby and excellent vibes all around. Would give 10 stars for the atmosphere.

A very cute and charming little café with friendly staff and delicious food. I had the Spicy Tuna Melt Sandwich, and my girlfriend had the Chicken Caesar Toastie. Both were excellent, but the Spicy Tuna Melt was definitely my favorite. The atmosphere was lovely, and the prices were okay. There aren’t many seats, and we were lucky to get a table. I’d recommend coming early or being prepared to wait a little.
But it’s definitely worth a visit! ☺️

One of our favourite places in Palma, Mallorca. We have been coming to Surry Hills since 2023, and visit multiple times during our trips. if you find yourself in the historic heart of palma, this is your official sign that surry hills coffee needs to be your next brunch destination. it’s a tiny, sunlit corner that brings the absolute best australian cafe culture right to the mediterranean.
the vibe is minimal and calm (that mountain neon sign on the wall is stunning), but the food is the real showstopper.
here is what we devoured:
🥯 the savior: a perfectly toasted, loaded bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, fresh red onion, and a perfect squeeze of lime.
🥚 the luxury: soft poached eggs with dill, capers, and a pinch of chili flakes on a sourdough base. absolute heaven.
☕️ the sip: a flawless flat white using local mallorcan mistral coffee beans. the latte art was stunning.
🍊 the glimmers: catching the warm spanish sun through the open window with a freshly squeezed orange juice.

Absolutely must try is the ice cream! We had strawberry and almond ice cream. The wait for the ice cream was really long. They had forgotten us and gave us one chocolate ice cream extra. The empanadas were delicious! The coffee was not that great to be honest. Extremly busy so be prepared to wait for a table.
Alperen Tekin★★★★★
This is an authentic, family-run Majorcan cafe specialising in traditional pastries. Their history dates back to the early 18th century, when its founder collected snow from the Tramuntana mountains and used it to create one of the island’s earliest forms of ice cream. It’s something that still defines the place today.
They now have three cafes on the island, all with a similar atmosphere. It’s not polished or modern, and that’s exactly the point. It feels like a place that’s been doing the same thing well for centuries without needing to reinvent itself.
They’re especially known for their ice cream as I mentioned. Don’t expect the typical kind of ice cream you find elsewhere. The texture is a bit unusual (like a mousse) but it’s very tasty. They’re also famous for their sponge cake, though I don’t like it (it has a slightly eggy smell).
Even if not every item hit the mark for me, I still come back very often for the atmosphere and to enjoy something rooted in the local tradition. Prices are reasonable.
One thing to note for Muslim and Jewish visitors: Although ensaïmadas may look like a simple and plain pastry, they are made with pork lard (the word “saïm” actually means pork fat). So, be careful (this applies not just here, but to ensaïmadas in general).
Méabh Redmond★★★★★
Still thinking about the plain ensaïmada, which came fresh, warm and sugared to the table. Washed down with an almond horchata. And the iced helvado was to die for. Service was friendly and attentive, but busy, so you may need to be a little patient at times. Gorgeous traditional interiors. Worth a visit.
Jasmin★★★★★
One of the highlights of our Majorcan food tour, this café immediately impressed us with its elegant and classy ambiance. We tried the ensaimada and the almond ice cream, and both were absolutely delicious.
As a Filipino, it was especially meaningful to taste the original Majorcan ensaimada since we also have our own version in the Philippines, influenced by Spanish culture. While the texture felt familiar, the Majorcan ensaimada was quite different—light, flaky, and almost croissant-like, making it a unique and memorable experience.
The almond ice cream was another standout. It was unlike any ice cream I've had before, with a distinctive flavor that was both rich and refreshing.
We enjoyed our first visit so much that we came back a second time during our trip. The food was consistently excellent, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. If you're visiting Mallorca, this place is definitely worth stopping by to experience some authentic local treats.
Snacklover★★★★★
The decision to come here was made after some intense ensaïmada research. This is an absolute legendary place. The decor is just amazing. Super traditional with many antique/old details. The ensaimadas are super good! I don’t have a sweet tooth but the Ensaimada cabello de ángel tastes like quality for sure. I also tried the traditional Cocarroi what I also loved. It’s a Mallorcan pastry with spinach, pine nuts and raisins. Very nice and great to try traditional flavours from the island. The lady working here was very helpful and friendly. She explained me things of the menu I didn’t understand and helped me make the right choice. I ordered a large Ensaimada cabello de ángel to take home as a gift and I could leave it there so I didn’t have to carry it around with me all day. This is definitely a plus for us tourists. The box is lovely and the price great. A super souvenir. I really wish I had more time (and space) to be able to try the amazing flavours of icecream. I shall return for sure.

Amazing food - opens at 9:00, plenty of space inside. We went there two days in a row, where we’ve tried egg benedict (with salmon and bacon + avokado) - both were really good.
My son had pancakes with red berries and really liked it. He also had a hamburger with mashed sweet potatoes and also finished the whole thing without saying a word haha (thats normally a good sign).
I had americano, kombucha, some protein shake with egg (too sweet) and smoothie for my kid and they were quite good too.
Water we could fill up the glasses for free.
Btw its nice and chilly inside - great on those days where you just wanna get away from the heat

If it weren’t for Google Maps, we probably never would have found this place. I’m always happy when you discover a hidden gem with great reviews that actually lives up to the hype. The espresso was outstanding, honestly one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The staff was incredibly friendly, the interior was simple yet interesting, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The coffee was so good that I ended up buying a whole bag to take home and enjoy later. 100% recommended!

So far all super good
So far best coffee in town
I had the batch brew; an delicious ethiopian natural. Usually I prefer washed but this naatural was clean, easy to drink with amazing floral and fruty notes. REAL SPECIALTY. Good job guys!

I was greeted when I arrived; however, other customers who came in after me were served before I was. Having only one person behind the bar also seems a bit insufficient during busy periods. In addition, the coffee was a little too strong and bitter for my taste.

Mistral is definitely one of the top specialty coffee shops in the city, but among the very best, it ranks a bit lower for us.
The coffee was slightly over-roasted and didn’t have the smooth, delicate taste we prefer – though that may just come down to personal preference, as we enjoy lightly roasted beans.
That said, it’s still an excellent specialty café with great atmosphere and quality, and it remains one of the top spots in town.

Loved the oat latte and vegan bars! The barista was super friendly and gave us great tips for exploring Mallorca. Would definitely go back! ♥️
How to Choose the Right Coffee Shop for You
With so many incredible options scattered across Palma, selecting the perfect spot often depends on your specific needs, your location, and the type of experience you are seeking. While all the venues listed above offer high-quality beverages, they each have distinct personalities. Some are geared toward fast-paced morning commuters grabbing a quick espresso at the bar, while others are designed for long, leisurely brunches with friends. Considering a few key factors before you head out can save you time and ensure you end up in the environment that best matches your mood, whether you are looking for a quiet corner to read a book or a bustling social hub to people-watch.
Consider the Vibe: Think about whether you want a quiet, minimalist space for deep focus or a lively, social atmosphere. If you need to work remotely, look for shops with spacious tables, accessible power outlets, and a relaxed policy on laptops. If you are meeting a group, prioritize venues with larger seating areas or outdoor terraces where you won’t feel rushed.
Check the Food Menu: Some of Palma’s best coffee shops are also culinary destinations in their own right. If you are hungry, seek out spots that offer full brunch menus, freshly baked pastries, or healthy bowls. However, if you are strictly focused on the coffee itself, you might prefer a smaller roastery or tasting room that prioritizes the bean over the kitchen.
Location and Timing: Palma’s neighborhoods are distinct. The old town is charming but can be crowded with tourists, while Santa Catalina offers a more bohemian, local feel. Always check opening hours in advance, as many specialty shops close early in the evening or take a siesta break, particularly on Sundays and public holidays.
Bean Preferences: Ask the barista about the current beans on offer. Many shops rotate their single-origin selections seasonally and offer different profiles for espresso versus filter. If you prefer a darker, more traditional roast, you may want to steer clear of shops specializing exclusively in light, acidic Nordic roasts.
Dietary Requirements: If you are vegan, lactose-intolerant, or gluten-free, most modern specialty coffee shops in Palma are highly accommodating. You will typically find a variety of plant-based milks like oat, almond, and soy, but it is always wise to check if there is an extra charge or if their signature drinks can be modified to suit your needs.
Palma’s coffee culture is a reflection of the city itself: vibrant, welcoming, and deeply invested in quality. The shift toward specialty coffee has not erased the traditional Spanish café culture; rather, it has added a new layer of depth and excitement to the city’s social fabric. By exploring these top-tier establishments, you are not just drinking better coffee—you are supporting a community of artisans who care about sustainability and craft.
So, whether you start your morning with a silky cortado in a sun-drenched plaza or end your afternoon with a slow-brewed filter coffee in a cool, shaded courtyard, Palma offers an embarrassment of riches. Take your time, chat with the baristas, and enjoy the unique energy that makes this Mediterranean city a true coffee lover’s paradise.
