Paris has long been synonymous with refinement, and nowhere is this more evident than in the city’s approach to wellness. Beyond the gilded halls of the Louvre and the chic boutiques of Le Marais lies a quieter luxury: the art of relaxation. For both locals and travelers navigating the city’s energetic pace, a visit to a high-end spa offers a necessary counterbalance to the urban hustle.
The Parisian spa scene is distinct because it blends medical expertise with pure indulgence. You will find everything from ancient hammams inspired by North African traditions to futuristic clinics offering the latest in skin science. This is not simply about getting a massage; it is about participating in a cultural institution that values longevity, beauty, and the simple act of taking one’s time.
Choosing the right spa in a city overflowing with options can be overwhelming. The best establishments in Paris are often hidden behind unassuming facades, requiring a bit of local knowledge to discover. Whether you are seeking a romantic couple’s retreat, a solo afternoon of silence, or a rigorous beauty treatment, the context of the neighborhood matters as much as the menu of services.
We have curated a selection that prioritizes authenticity over trendiness. Each location listed below has been evaluated for the quality of its therapists, the uniqueness of its facilities, and its commitment to hygiene and customer care. You will notice that the best spots often feature signature treatments that utilize French skincare brands like Biologique Recherche or Codage, offering an experience you cannot easily replicate elsewhere.
This guide is designed to help you navigate the city’s finest wellness addresses with confidence. We focus on the details that matter: the quality of the steam in the hammam, the pressure of the massage strokes, and the overall atmosphere that separates a good spa from a truly transformative one. You will find options ranging from historic palace hotels to intimate, design-forward hideaways.
Whether you have a full day to dedicate to hydrotherapy or just an hour between meetings, Paris has a sanctuary for you. Here is our definitive list of the best spas the City of Light has to offer.

We had an absolutely amazing experience during our visit at Spa Clemens for our couples Aquatic Massage.
The staff was extremely friendly and attentive - not just our service providers, but everyone from the front desk to those assisting throughout the facility.
The Aquatic Massage was unlike anything else we had experienced at a spa, which was what drew us in.
It’s very much relaxation forward, and it reminded me of doing breath work with the massage aspect secondary to that.
If you’re looking for an activity to unwind and reset, Spa Clemens is an 11/10!

We had a treatment session in the pool with the therapists Ofri and Nadia, and it was perfect! They were attentive and professional, and they truly helped us relax into the treatment and enjoy it so much. The place itself is stunning, and the entire staff was very kind. Thank you so much!

I had an incredible experience at this spa! The entire facility is spotlessly clean and has a wonderfully serene atmosphere. I had a massage with Adeline, and she was absolutely amazing—incredibly professional, kind, and attentive. The massage itself was deeply relaxing and exactly what I needed. I cannot recommend this place (and Adeline!) highly enough. I will definitely be back!

The ladies at the Spa Clemons were so kind and welcoming. We started with a very nice massage and then we enjoyed the salt water pool and floated for quite a while. They give you water, sandals, and a robe while you are there. It was also STUNNING, although a little hard for us to find at first. They give you a code to get in at a different door than the GPS location- a couple doors down. When we were finished everything and about to leave, nature hit me and I didn’t have any feminine supplies with me. They kindly gave me a box to take home and made me and my husband herbal tea. 10/10! 🩷GO

From the moment we entered the courtyard, everything was wonderful. The atmosphere was serene and calming, the staff were attentive, and there wasn’t a hint of the bustle of Paris to be heard nor seen. The only critique I would offer is an assortment of hair styling products being available, to include a hairbrush, conditioner, and a straightener or styling tool. Otherwise the massage and private salt water pool were wonderful.

This is by far the best Hammam Spence I’ve had outside my old bath house in Meknes, and even feels like I’m back in Marrakesh. The environment is very friendly, calming, and filled with the warmth of amazing women. For anyone looking for a quality gommage, I highly recommend this place 🙂 I personally will be back

Because there are few reviews in English, I'm giving an extensive one here!
I'd never been to a hammam before, so my visit to Bains Montorgueil was my first experience. It is definitely not like a regular spa, but it is an experience!
The entrance to the building is a bit hard to find, you have to enter through a gate at number 55, walk to the back of the courtyard where you'll find a double door through which you enter. I didn't see a sign, but once you open the door, you know you're in the right place.
The ladies don't really speak English but the man behind the counter did. I booked a package with gommage (scrub) and a 45-minute massage with argan oil.
I was first welcomed in a small sitting room with mint tea and given flip-flops. Then I was escorted down to the changing rooms where you take off everything, get a sarong and paper panties. You leave your stuff in a locker.
The hammam is quite small, but cozy and there were about 4-5 other women there when I was in. The hammam is women only luckily! You first get into the steaming hammam (sauna), and then you are rubbed down with a good scrub. This was the least pleasant part of the experience for me as the scrubbing was quite rough and the lady who was treating me interrupted the scrubbing multiple times to deal with other customers, also another lady was cleaning the scrubbing room and repeatedly bumped into my arm. These are minor inconveniences, but hence 4 stars instead of 5.
Then I went back outside, got some black soap to rub me down and went back into the hammam. You are guided through this process. After that I showered and went back up, got bath robes and a towel for my hair and went to the sitting room where I got more tea and baklava (delicious!).
For the final part of the treatment, I had a massage in a private room with Souad, who is a great masseuse! This was my favourite part of the treatment. She was gentile and kind and the massage made me sleepy. I even fell asleep at the end and she let me sleep in the room for a bit.
After that it was finished. I felt totally fresh and it's a great stress relieve from the sometimes hectic, noisy and dirty streets of Paris. I can definitely recommend. I was inside for a good 3 hours and paid 148 EUR for the package. Overall: definitely recommend!

Traveling from LA to Paris this time, I'm so glad I finally took the time to book at this hammam where I had the best time of my year. It was such a great escape from the rain and cold weather in Paris. For few hours, it felt like I was in Morocco taking care of myself for once. The team has been amazing, and went above and beyond. I truly appreciate the service and the full amazing experience. I LOVED the homemade sesame mask they put on my face that smelled so good. When I asked at the end if they sell it, they were so kind to give me some I took as a special treat back home. Probably a new product you should start selling. Thank you again for the special attention and the care. Will be back next time for sure!

Booking experience was smooth by phone, although I would prefer to have an easier online option for better flexibility. The reception staff were so excellent and polite. Very helpful as well. Now for the treatment and products used ! It was incredible !!!!! I had the “seed to skin bliss massage” I have no words to describe how excellent my therapist, it was one of the best massages I ever had, she had excellent connection with her and she knew what she was doing! Monica Pereira her name and she is the best ! I swear I would come to Paris again just to have her give me that amazing therapy again! I walked into the changing room and a lady literally asked me if I ever had a treatment because I looked so relaxed. I also purchased the massage oil for better future experience wherever I go next. Thank you spa team.

I visited twice in one week and both experiences were excellent. Initially I did the lymphatic drainage with Margaux. My experience with Margaux was so enjoyable I returned a few days later for the French Secret of Beauty with Cecilia. Both Margaux and Cecilia were outstanding therapists and I felt amazing after both treatments. Nadia, who works at reception, also is a warm & friendly presence at the beginning and end of your time at the spa. I highly recommend.
J S★★☆☆☆
Doesn't worth the price. The treatment rooms are cold and outdated. The hammam is very cold as well. The stuff didn't take time to warm the hammam in advance, which is unacceptable for the 650 euro price tag and ruined the overall experience. Don't waste your nerves and time.

I was expecting a functioning sauna and doors that close … I found a mix of sauna/hammam without doorknobs
Very questionable hygiene, personnel doesn’t take their shoes off and also don’t ask for the visitors to take their shoes off in the spa
There is a lot of moisture/dirt in the jacuzzi.
Disappointing and shocking.

My wife and I had a wonderful, quiet Saturday lunch at Hammam Pacha, a fantastic Brazilian restaurant in Paris, and we couldn't have been more impressed with the experience.
The food was simply outstanding: my wife gave the authentic feijoada a glowing 10/10, while my shrimp bobó tasted just as incredible as the ones we've enjoyed right in Rio de Janeiro. We finished off with an equally delicious passion fruit mousse (mousse de maracuja) for dessert.
The service was warm, welcoming, and exceptionally friendly, led by a wonderfully kind owner who created a great, lively atmosphere in a nearly full dining room where everyone seemed to be having a fantastic time.
The pricing is fair and well-justified for this level of quality and authentic culinary execution - highly, highly recommended!

Had the best day at Hammam Pacha. Needed to get out of the insane heat and this was the perfect place. Karima gave me one of the best massages of my life. All of the women there were so welcoming, so nice, so friendly and very helpful. Shiraz did an amazing face massage and mask. I wasn’t going to do the scrub but I’m so happy I did. Also the food is amazing !! I was there for 4 hours and it went by fast. Extremely relaxing and very clean facilities. Thank you for everything !!

Went to the Nuxe Spa at Montorgueil today for an hour and a half massage ( I chose the massage décontractant musculaire ).
Elli was incredibly professional and a great masseur. He asked all the right questions and the massage was tailored perfectly to my preferences regarding pressure, areas to focus on and the scent of the oil, etc. He even gave me some lovely advice afterwards and offered a hot drink.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely return. highly recommend Elli 🫶🏼.

Tried 2 rooms, Caribbean and Greek.
Preferred the Caribbean one, the Greek was too simple. Plus there was a hair rubber band in the Jacuzzi (that’s why only 3 stars), makes me think they don’t really clean well and check the cleanliness of the room after each use.
The Caribbean room setting was better than the Greek one, and the jacuzzi more modern as you could change the lightning colors.
They should give at least 2 towels per person.
The staff is friendly. A bit on the overpriced side for what they offer.

SCAM – Would Not Recommend
I would strongly advise finding a more reliable spa closer to the city centre. Please do not visit this location—this review is from an honest customer.
I visited Paris recently to celebrate my first anniversary and had booked the jungle spa room at this location. We arrived early and were left waiting for a long time while the reception staff struggled to find our booking, despite us clearly showing our confirmation emails on our phones.
After around 30 minutes, we were informed that the room we had booked was closed due to “technical issues.”
This was extremely upsetting. We had travelled specifically for this spa experience, and it was our last day in Paris, meaning we could have used that time for something else had we been informed earlier. The most frustrating part is that the staff admitted they had known all morning that the room was not operational, yet made no attempt to contact customers in advance.
Instead, they tried to blame us—saying we should have phoned ahead to check whether the facilities were working and that we should have booked by phone rather than through the website, as they claimed they were unaware of our booking. This is completely unreasonable. We have visited many spas before and have never been expected to call to confirm that facilities are functioning after receiving a booking confirmation.
The receptionists eventually contacted the manager, who issued a refund but offered no compensation for our wasted time. The staff were generally rude and unsympathetic, even suggesting we “go to a museum or something,” which felt dismissive and inappropriate given the situation.
We had already arranged transport from the spa directly to the airport, leaving us with no time to return to the city. As it was a Sunday, there was also very little open locally. Instead of enjoying a relaxing spa experience, we ended up sitting in a Starbucks on our phones to pass the time—an incredibly sad and anticlimactic end to what had otherwise been a wonderful trip.
I would strongly advise against booking this spa, especially if you are visiting Paris specifically for the experience. You may be left extremely disappointed. The staff were unhelpful, rude, and lacked any empathy. This was the only place in Paris where we encountered such poor service, which made it even more upsetting to end our trip on such a negative note.

We absolutely loved this place!! We were sent here by our hotel and they were amazing!!! The best massage. We will go back and get the facial as well. The massage is amazing and then they talk to you about what they found after. One of the things she said to me was that my “diaphragm was in distress”. I had a chest infection and had been coughing nonstop for days. Went with several people and everyone enjoyed. It was amazing and want to go back!!

An absolutely perfect experience.
From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with such warmth and kindness. The team is impeccably professional and friendly.
Sébastien took the time to analyze my physical and emotional state with great skill and understanding. His explanations were clear, reassuring, and very relevant. The massage was precise, deeply personalized, and perfectly suited to my needs at that moment.
The debriefing after the treatment is a real bonus: it allows you to better understand your body, its tensions, and its reactions.
I highly recommend this spa for the quality of its treatments and the genuine attention given to each client. Thank you again!

A few years ago, I had the most unforgettable hammam experience at this spa, and to this day, it remains one of the most transformative moments of my travels. The serene atmosphere combined with the genuine warmth and professionalism of the staff made every second deeply restorative.
What truly sets this spa apart, beyond its exceptional treatments, is the remarkable kindness and integrity of the team. I accidentally left behind a cherished piece of jewelry, and to my relief, when I returned the following day, it was safely kept for me. Such care and honesty are rare and speak volumes about their commitment to guest satisfaction.
They also generously gifted me samples of their best products, which continue to remind me of the tranquility I felt during my visit. Without a doubt, this spa was the highlight of our trip to France and is a must-visit for anyone seeking not just relaxation, but a genuinely life-changing experience.

I had photographed this spa once many years ago for a book and it was on my bucket list to return. It did not disappoint! The products, the steam room, the cool pool, the refreshing rose water were wonderful. The scrub down was aggressive and my skin has never ever been so soft and the effect lasted for more than a month! Lovely.

Incredible hidden gem in Paris. Tucked away in a quiet courtyard, O'Kari is a beautiful women-only hammam spa with lovely staff and wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Two of us visited together for the O'Kari Basic package and we had a very relaxing experience. I will absolutely be coming back next time I'm in Paris.

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Superb steam room, fantastic shampoo and head massage and lovely relaxing full body massage to finish. So relaxing, a real treat and surprisingly good value. Everyone was very kind and my friend and I enjoyed it immensely. Would recommend, and hopefully return!

My husband and I went on 29/04/18 at 6:45pm with appointment. He took 1hr traditional Hot oil Thai massage and I took 30 mins foot massage + 30 mins face + head message. It was dynamic and relaxing. And the tea and the fruit bowl after the massage was perfect. Highly recommend this place.

I took a head face and shoulder message. The face and shoulder massage was good but i did not enjoy the head massage. It felt too rough, my head started paining after sometime of getting massage done. But this is a personal experience, maybe someone else will like the technique used for head massage.

Lovely place. Went with my partner as a gift we received for Xmas. It's cozy and the service is warm and friendly. I really enjoyed my massage.

Start to finish the service was exemplary. There was a couples massage package with hammam/spa time, two person massage (3 types of options: thai, indian, and swedish), and post-treatment refreshments with tea, champagne, and fruits. The hammam is small but clean and private for two. It was perfect for a quick rinse and sauna session before the massage. Then, the massage was splendid. Literally, top 3 I've ever had. We ended up booking another treatment for the next day it was so great. Only thing to note is the front desk reception has very limited to no English but they are great even working with us via phone translation and non verbals.

First, very kind ownership. I was caught in a crazy traffic jam in Montmartre.. both the owner and the therapist Guillaume were welcoming and accommodating. Guillaume, is very professional and gave a really superb sports massage. Normally these can be on the more uncomfortable side, especially when not your regular therapist but he really understood my sporting needs.. where and how to effectively add pressure and movement, while also leaving me and my muscles feeling fluid, ready for my cross country equestrian training. Thanks so much Guillaume! Would highly recommend him and the business. The space is very clean. Really a chill atmosphere and vibe— also the availability of the shower (if like me and coming from a meeting) really saves time when crossing the city / plans after.

Such a hidden gem in Paris! Anais & Djamila were so sweet and gave the most relaxing massages to my sister and I. There is also a beautiful outdoor oasis with a sauna, as well as a steam bath. Would definitely come back here again.

Found this place after a bit of research on Google and it did not disappoint. This was such a relaxing experience after spending several days in Paris sightseeing. The massage was excellent and using the steam shower was wonderful afterwards. Would highly recommend coming here.

Amazing experience at Sensation SPA in Paris!
The massage was absolutely wonderful, one of the best I’ve had. Very relaxing, professional, and exactly what I needed.
What truly stood out was the excellent service. When I was leaving, it was raining, and the staff kindly offered me an umbrella so I wouldn’t get wet. Such a thoughtful and caring gesture.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for great massage and exceptional hospitality in Paris.

I went to the spa for my birthday this week. Me and my boyfriend had a duo massage with Aurelle and Tenzin. It was incredible, they were so reassuring and considerate and we felt so relaxed afterwards. We had the sauna as well which was such a nice finish and a free shower. We want to go back so badly, 10/10 recommend!
Tips for Choosing the Right Parisian Spa
Selecting the perfect spa requires a bit more thought than simply booking the first available slot. The atmosphere, amenities, and house specialties can vary wildly from one arrondissement to the next. To ensure your money is well spent and your expectations are met, consider the following practical advice before you commit to a reservation.
1. Identify Your Primary Goal
Are you looking to fix a specific skin issue, relieve deep muscle tension, or simply enjoy a thermal bath? Spas in Paris often specialize. A “beauty institute” will focus heavily on facials and aesthetics, while a “hammam” or thermal spa is centered around water and heat therapy. If you want a deep tissue massage, avoid places that primarily market themselves as beauty salons, as the massage quality may be secondary to their skincare services.
2. Book Well in Advance
Paris is a dense city, and the best therapists are often booked out weeks in advance, especially on weekends. Unlike in some cities where walk-ins are common, high-end Parisian spas operate on a strict reservation basis. If you are traveling during Fashion Week or the holiday season, you should aim to secure your slot at least three to four weeks ahead of your visit to avoid disappointment.
3. Understand the French Spa Etiquette
While this is changing, many traditional Parisian spas and hammams still observe single-sex hours or days for the wet areas. Additionally, nudity is often mandatory in saunas and steam rooms for hygiene reasons, though towels are usually provided. If you are modest or visiting as a couple, verify the specific policy regarding swimwear and mixed-gender access before you book.
4. Look for “Made in France” Product Lines
One of the greatest benefits of a Parisian spa is access to local cosmeceuticals that may be expensive or hard to find abroad. Look for spas that use brands like Biologique Recherche, Anne Semonin, or Leonor Greyl. Not only does this guarantee a high standard of ingredients, but it also allows you to test products before purchasing them to take home.
5. Check the Facility Access Policy
Some luxury hotel spas grant access to the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi only to hotel guests or to those booking treatments over a certain price point. Others, particularly independent hammams, charge a separate entrance fee for the “baths” that is distinct from the massage cost. Always read the fine print to understand if your 50-minute massage includes an hour of relaxation time in the wet areas, or if you need to budget extra for that privilege.
6. Consider the Timing of Your Visit
The atmosphere of a spa changes dramatically depending on the hour. If you are seeking silence and solitude, book a slot on a weekday morning, right when the spa opens. Evenings and weekends tend to be more social, particularly in traditional hammams where groups of friends often gather to chat. For a romantic experience, ask the reception if they have “duo” cabins available, as these are limited and highly sought after.
Taking the time to unwind in Paris is not a luxury reserved for the few; it is a vital part of the local lifestyle. Whether you choose a historic palace hotel with gold leaf ceilings or a minimalist underground pool lit by candles, the goal remains the same: to disconnect from the noise of the city and reconnect with yourself.
As you plan your itinerary, remember that the best travel memories often come from the moments of stillness between the sightseeing. A few hours spent in the hands of a skilled Parisian therapist can reset your energy, allowing you to appreciate the city’s beauty with fresh eyes and a lighter step.
